This is no Prank
Night had descended above the mountains of Vermont, the heavy obsidian blanket twinkling with stars as the last glimmers of sunlight descended below the horizon. A frigid wind gently whispered throughout Hammel's infrastructure, swift gusts hurling fried leaves and foliage into a midair dance. It was awfully quiet, a slow night if you will. Students and teachers had retired to their private spaces, many hoping to escape the cold and melt into the comforting embrace of their bedrooms. The crisp breeze swept against the north face of the institute, dancing though any open window or crevice it could find. Now whilst many would enjoy the mere comfort of a hot chocolate and a snuggie to keep themselves warm on such a night one girl in particular was having trouble relaxing, her mind creeping into an uncomfortable state of freezing isolation and anxiety.
Evony Vasiliev, the blue haired pixie and troublemaker was curled up into a ball on her bed, shivering not only from the cold but from the gnawing stress. She loathed sleeping alone, especially on cold nights such as this. It was an embarrassing fault, even the whistling winds sent her on edge and it seemed that her troubled mind was going to keep her awake for the rest of the night. Homework was expendable, there was no comfort in reading or writing and she had already had two showers just to rid her petite body of the chill in her bones. Her dormies were off doing their own thing and it would have been a pain to track them down.
"Fucking wind...", she growled under her breath, rubbing her toes against the palms of her dainty hands. She was clothed in an oversized grey sweater and rich purple leggings which clung tightly to her skinny legs, her socks had yet to be found and she was sure to steal someone else's on another 'hunting trip'. Her mind was frazzled, all she wanted was to talk to someone and gain comfort in their fellowship but who would want that now? Half the people in Hammel were either sleeping, studying or fucking and whilst the prospect of watching some peers go at it during the night entertained her it would only heighten the gnawing sense of loneliness within her. Evy had not tasted the joy of another's physical company in a while, and it pained her to admit this...especially since that was all she craved.
There was one girl who she wanted above all, one who plagued her mind like a viciously beautiful disease. Lucy Serrano, that ridiculously attractive alternative chick with the sexy tattoos and face that made the acrobat swoon. Lucy occasionally popped over to annoy Sawyer and it was during these moments of mischief did Evy's infatuation grow. Every little thing about the tattooed troublemaker excited the acrobat, and even though she enjoyed Lucy's company she wasn't entirely sure her feelings were reflected.
Gazing at her mirror Evony sighed, brushing strands of sky blue hair from out of her gaze before looking down at herself. Was she attractive? She wasn't entirely sure, every moment she had she was gazing through the other side of the mirror, stalking and hiding in people's reflections like a ghost. The very thought of gazing at hersel for once posed an uncomfortable existential crisis of sorts. But that was probably from her gnawing anxiety and her lovesick state of mind. "I wonder what she's doing now...?", she asked herself, chewing on her lower lip before dipping her toe in the mirror. She hasn't planned this nor was she particularly sure of whether Lucy would even be in her room...but it was worth a shot. Take her mind of things for a while at least.
Her dainty form dived into the 'Reflection world', her body rippling with the ethereal silver waters that bathed her upon entry. Here she was a spectre, sprinting past the windows into people's living spaces until she found what she was looking for. Lucy's bedroom. The lights were off and the girl had to focus her gaze from the other side of the mirror, art supplies were scattered across the floor and her gaze caught sight of a bra half hidden underneath the bed. Pursing her lips Evy watched and waited for a good five minutes, uncertain of whether she was willing to go through with this. Had it been anyone else, a stranger perhaps, she would have no qualms about entering their room and 'borrowing' their stuff but in this case she was a bit scared.
"Shit...stop being such a pussy...", she murmured to herself, attempting to rub the slightly embarrassed blush out of her cheeks. With one last tentative gaze into the darkened bedroom Evy leaped forward, her skinny body soaring through the air until her bare feet hit the carpet. She gazed around almost frightfully whilst hugging her body tight, she couldn't see Lucy but she could smell her perfume and that was enough to send her hormones racing...but what now?
She didn't exactly know...
