Last Minute Shopping (Open)

Josef hated shopping. But for his niece's birthday he was willing to make an exception.

Usually, he would have tried to do things on-line, but he'd gotten busy grading papers and now he didn't have the time. Shipping would be to slow for anything to arrive in time.

So he had stopped by the mall on his way home from classes for the day. He was hoping that he would be able find something quick so he wouldn't have to stay long. Still, he didn't want to rush too much and get something that she wouldn't like. Having no children of his own, he spoiled his nieces whenever he got the chance. Gift cards would not do. And finding just the right thing would take time.

He really was starting to regret this.

He was looking into a store as he walked and bumped into someone. Well actually, he bumped into the bags that they were carrying. "Ah! Pardon me," he said, rubbing his forehead as he looked up to see whose things he had run into.

He was really starting to wish he'd managed his gift buying time better.

Elliot really didn't mind shopping. Granted, he liked anything that was able to spring him from his dorm. His roommate was being slightly dickish again (read: he had his girlfriend over and was being obnoxiously loud), and he'd decided to escape for a bit. His classes were done, he didn't have much in the way of homework, and Caleb was tied up with physio appointments.

Of course that meant the mall.

He was technically looking for something for Mother's Day (he was organized), but he'd come to the conclusion that he'd also needed some more school clothes. His poor credit card was going to get a workout today.

He'd already stopped at a few stores and gotten most of what he needed, but he was still in need of a gift for his mother. Well, he still had some time. He could think of something.

It was while he was thinking about that, not paying attention to where he was going, that he felt the resistance and heard the voice. He immediately stopped and looked down, ready to apologize.

... Why did he have to run into his freaking English professor? Literally. He'd tried to avoid him at the University ever since he'd actually failed his final. For the first tiem ever. Cue a look of both shame and apology. "Uh, hi... Professor Ward. Sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." Hopefully he could just slink away quietly now, and pretend nothing had happened.
