The day had been... uneventful, to say the least. Not that Emery minded, that was just the way she enjoyed her days, at least most of the time. She had managed to make it through classes without feeling the urge to slaughter anyone (which in itself was remarkable.) Normally this would be the time of day that Emery would spend in her room reading, alone, today however was different. For some reason the library struck her fancy as the appropriate place to read. She wasn't quite sure why, because people were free to walk around and bother her while she was in the library, but who was she to argue with her gut. Right? They had handed out a new book in the book club yesterday, and Emery was almost finished with it. Another hour and she should be through.
She sat in one of the more cushioned chairs, facing a window, her back turned to the rest of the library. It was a particularly rainy day outside, and Emery liked to watch the rain run down the windows when her eyes burned from staring at the pages for too long. That and she was hoping that no one would really notice her sitting there.
She was, after all, a very easily looked over young girl. There wasn't really anything special or noticeable about the way she looked, especially not today. Her long brown hair was left down, and wavy, it was pulled over her left shoulder, and she was currently twisting the ends in her hand. She was dressed in an olive long sleeved shirt, over-sized of course, and a pair of black skinny jeans, camel colored mid-calf boots completed her outfit.
She chewed on her bottom lip as she became engulfed in the book that was laid out on her lap. She didn't even hear the footsteps as they approached.
