Tal pushed his way through the doors into the library. An instant hush settled on his broad shoulders as he immediately made his way to the sewing section. He had some fabric he had bought the other day and he wanted to make himself a jacket. Quiet conversations rolled around him like water.

He didn't pay attention to any of it. His mind was too much on his jacket, he didn't realize that he had bumped into a table. A sharp pain made him aware of the fact. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, looking around.

Bright pink hair caught his attention. Tal closed the book and searched for the hair. "Excuse me," he said, leaning against a stack of Shakespeare's work. "I really like your hair." As the girl turned to him, there was something very similar about her. It was on the tip of his tongue. It was those eyes. Where had he...?

Mia sat at one of the tables near a window with her jacket on her lap. Being near a window was probably a mistake since she kept getting distracted every time she looked up by looking out the window. The girl would much rather be outside in the cold, natural air than inside the library. However, it was her study time, though instead of studying she was reading a bunch of Shakespeare’s works. Some people would have said she was a bad student, or lazy but the fact is she didn’t need to study, and if she did need to she would much rather study in her room with candles lit. It was much more relaxing than sitting here studying and getting frustrated like so many other students. She had her own way of doing things.

Mia had been absorbed in Hamlet when she heard a voice; she looked up at the boy who was speaking to her. She smiled and blushed at the comment. “Thank you! It means a lot when people comment on it.” Considering she did spend a lot of time, money, and effort to keep it the way it was. Mia casually looked at the boy, taking him in. She blinked at the book he was holding. “So, your into making clothes?” She wasn’t teasing or anything but generally curious. The topic bought a warm feeling to her heart and yet pang of sadness and pain.

Tal looked down at the sewing book in his hand. He sat down in a chair across from the pink haired girl. "Yeah! I learned when I was younger. My mother... My mom used to sew and I would just watch in fascination as she would turn some flat fabric into something absolutely wonderful!" He put a fond hand on the book. His parents passed away in a drunken car crash. But before that... He had a wonderful relationship with a girl named Mia Bell.. That is until she accidently shoved him off the cliff.

But, Tal supposed, if she hadn't done that, he would've never figured out that he was an angel...so to speak. He ran a quaking hand through his hair. "Name is Tal, what's your name?" he asked, holding his hand out. Tal would've been much better off if he didn't sit down at her table or asked her name or had anything to do with the pink haired girl. There was something about her that instantly drew him.

"Do...Do I know you?" he mumbled, trying to put her face somewhere. A place he had lived. A military life wasn't really fabulous, but the fact that he had met a lot of people over the past seventeen years didn't really help his memory. Did she always have pink hair? If she did, that would be definitely a give away. He would remember pink hair. It was uncommon for a military brat to want to do anything insane with their hair because the parents had to be so...formal most of the time. "Do I know you?" he repeated louder.

“Oh, that’s so cool! I make jewelry” She said as she motioned to her necklace “But nothing as cool as sewing.. That would save me a lot of money…” She mused as she looked at her rather ‘out there’ clothing; a style that did cost quite some money, which would cost less if she knew how to sew. There was something in those chocolate brown eyes that were very familiar, along with the sewing it all brought pain to her heart and she felt like running to her room to curl up in a ball in a corner. Yes, she had a wonderful relationship with Tal, and that was what made it so hard to see him leave without even caring about her. It was so hard to come to terms about the accident and him leaving and she had always felt like that accident had been the reason why he left and she hated that she was the reason.

Mia looked at him wide eyed when he told him his name. She felt the water building up in her eyes. This was not something she needed right now, but yet here it was. Why was her past coming back to haunt her? Course there could be a different Tal, Right? But the sewing, and the mother teaching him how to sew, and his name, and those eyes? It just… It just all fit together and she couldn’t bring herself to answer him. Would he yell at her for what she had done three years ago? Was he angry at her? Had he been harboring ill feelings for her since she accidently pushed him off that cliff? Tears rolled down her cheeks at the thought.

He asked a really hard question. Should she lie and just give him that comfort in knowing he didn’t have to deal with the girl who could have killed him? No, she didn’t want to lie, especially not to him, she just couldn’t. “My name is Mia.” Saying this with her Alaskan accent. She picked up her books, bag, and jacket and headed for the doors to the library. If he remembered her; then he would be able to put the pieces together, right?

It clicked. Just like a mechanical puzzle, the pieces fit each other the minute she said her name. That couldn't be Mia. What happened to the brown hair? Sure, her way of dress was always a little off, but she never dressed like she was getting ready for a rock concert. He turned in his seat to watch her leave. Leave! Tal ignored the book he left on the table and ran after her.

"Mia!" he yelled, drawing eyes towards them. "Damnit! Mia wait! Please!" He didn't want to see her go again, even if was his fault. Even if he left without so much as goodbye or anything else. Tears sprung to his eyes but he quickly blinked them away. His father would've been very disappointed to hear his son had cried over a girl. Sending a quick prayer up there dad. Help me through this please.

"Don't leave...again," Tal said realizing his words. She hadn't left. He had left her. That's how it worked. His wings showed, Hammel Institute caught word or whatever, a recruiter came by to pick him up. Of course, it had taken a lot of convincing to let him even say goodbye to Mia, but it happened. "What... When...." He was at a loss for words. Tal wanted nothing more than to fold her in his arms. To hold her against his chest once again.

Her hair and her dress style was who she was now, she wasn’t going to change anything for one guy. He was the one that hadn’t stuck around for the change. Because after he left and couple months later she had joined a band and that been the influence of her wanting to change her look. Not because it was what everyone else was doing, but because she wanted to stand out in a crowd. But she hadn’t been able to dye her hair or change her style until after the car crash, when her mother didn’t care what she had done and by then the action had been just to rebel and get attention from her mother; but it hadn’t worked.

Mia ignored his yelling, she didn’t want to hear it. What could he possibly say to her? Even if it was just two words, those two words ‘I’m leaving’ said a lot and enough. Why was he torturing her with this? She got it from before that he had wanted nothing to do with her.

However, the word ‘again’ made her stop and turn around to face him. Thunder could be heard as her face clearly showed how pissed off she was. At this point in time she didn’t care who was watching. “Again? Again?!” She shook her head “How fucking dare you! I’m not the one that left! I’m not the one who came over said ‘I’m leaving’ and then never contacted the other again!” She was furious that he would say she was the one that left, lightning hit the ground outside, showing just how made she was. “When what? What when you left and never contacted me and never even explained anything to me? You had my number, you had my email, and you had my address.” She took a deep breath “I got it, okay, you don’t want anything to do with me. I’m sorry for what I did… I didn’t mean to do it..” More tears ran down her cheeks “I really didn’t..”

Turning away once again, her heart was yearning to just walk back and kiss him, and have him hold her, even if just one more time. But she knew the boy most likely hated her now, why else would he just leave the way he did?

Tal watched as the tears ran down her face. There was a saying his mother used to say, it wasn't very often, but every once and a while, she would come out with it because he had done something stupid in a relationship. A girl wants you to mess up her lipstick, not her mascara. Mess up her lipstick. Mia wasn't wearing any lipstick and his mother hadn't actually meant it literally. She meant, don't make her cry. What had he done?

"Mia! Mia, damnit! Stop!" Tal yelled, running down the hall to catch up with her. And that was that, he had her cornered. "I had... I had to leave. I couldn't... the pain..." His words were a jumbled mess. He had her trapped beneath his arms, his face only inches away from hers. Was he going to kiss her?

Would Mia slap him? She was always known for her temper, but it was Tal, who could slap his lovable face? Over half the school by now would probably love to slap him and slap him hard. Tal couldn't risk losing her, he couldn't risk. Not again. He pressed his lips up to hers, forming his body to hers. "Goddamn, I've missed you," he said, pulling away. She was still trapped against his body.

Mia ignored his yelling yet again, what could he say to her that she didn’t already know? Why was he chasing her anyway? Was he really just playing with his mind? Why couldn’t he just let her cry in her room in peace? No, he had to trap her. She grunted as he trapped her. “I know you had to leave, okay! And I know the reason was me… So I’m sorry!” The apology came out as a whine.


Mia looked into his irresistible eyes, noticing that his face was really close to hers. Half over her wanted to lean in a kiss him, the other half knew she couldn’t. She couldn’t put her heart through that, she couldn’t go through that pain. But then he did it, he kissed her. It took her a second to relax and kiss him back. She gripped his shirt with both hands. There was the spark, the spark that was killing her inside. She still had feelings for him, but it was the feelings she had for him three years ago. They were both different people, had Tal really not changed in three years? She certainly had, did he have feelings for her still? Was there that spark for him? This was all driving her nuts. Then he pulled away and her breath caught in her lungs. “Missed me? I thought you hated me…” Mia didn’t want him to move, not ever, she wanted to stay this like this with him forever.

Tal was takenaback from her statement. "Hated you? I could never. Why would I hate you?" he asked, stepping away from her. He never hated her, in fact, he thought of her almost everyday, wishing he hadn't done what he did. He had left her, no goodbye, just "I'm leaving." How could... That was cold, it was....

Tal ran his hands up and down her arms. "I can't let you go every again. I have been trying to work on my jealousy." Even if he was working on it, it didn't mean anything. It didn't mean that he would actually stop being jealous. Tal was sure she had boyfriends since they had broken up, whoever would skip over her was insane.

"Give me another chance?" Wasn't that move a bit fast? He wanted her back. There was no dancing around it. It was straightforward and blunt. Tal wanted Mia to be back in his life, he wanted to hear her sing and her dreams.

“Because…” She didn’t want to say it out loud. The only thing had cause he so much heartache, so many tears. “I almost killed you…” She said in a whisper, tears streaming down her face again. She hated herself, why shouldn’t he?

Where Tal touch her skin tingled, why did it seem like now she had stronger feelings for him? She didn’t even know him anymore. Was he still the same guy she knew three years ago? She didn’t know what to say to that, she looked down at the ground, searching for something to say. “I understand your jealousy, now more than ever..” because she felt jealous of everyone, every day. She didn’t deserve a boyfriend, or even Tal, and he deserved much better than her.

Mia looked at him, again searching for words to say. So many things were going through her mind. Half of her wanted him, and wanted him to be hers again, but the other half didn’t want to have that risk of being brutally hurt again, for a fourth time. “How do I know you not going to just leave me again?” She was starting to get a little tired of giving people chances at have her heart, all they did was abuse it.

Irrational anger reared it's head like a cobra, looking for someone to strike. For once, could someone just trust him? Anyone? Not even his friends trusted him with certain stuff. Yes, he had left Mia, but it wasn't like they were getting married and he left her at the altar and he was asking for her hand in marriage once more.

"I wouldn't leave," he said quietly, trying his hardest to keep calm. The anger would bubble to the surface and he would snap at people first, and then it would be silence and the cold shoulder and then, outright anger, downright being rude.

Her pink hair was fascinating, nevertheless, fairly easy to spot. "So, are you still singing?" he asked politely, trying to change the topic before he went ballistic. He wished he could sing, so he could sing with her. Her voice was that of an angel, but to rock.

Mia didn’t know anything about the boy’s anger. It was not something she wanted to find out the hard way. Her doubts wasn’t just about him, she was scared of the people she cared about most leaving her. Because by now so many of them had, yet there was some that were still around, but just didn’t want anything to do with her. She also had doubts about just dating or having a relationship again. She had come to terms with not being able to find unconditional love at least at this age, and that was something she needed. Mia had this overwhelming voice inside her telling her not to hide anything from Tal. That probably came from his jealousy from before.

Mia looked at the ground; she wasn’t sure how to respond to that. She didn’t want to tell him about her doubts, because she didn’t want to hurt him. She took a deep breath and looked at Tal. “Can we… Just start as friends? I mean it’s been three years, and I know that I have changed a lot since then.” If the pink hair, clothing style and tongue ring didn’t convince him that she had changed, that he was about to find out the hard way if/when he got closer to her. She wasn’t the over confident girl she was when she was twelve, nor was she as openly dorky.

“Yes. I actually joined a band a couple months after you left. And now I might be starting a new one. I’ve been thinking about it anyways…” She didn’t think she sounded like an angel when she sung, but she thought that was the individual opinion.

And just like that, they were out of anything to talk about. Tal took a step a back, wondering what else he should bring up. Much had changed over the past what three-four years? It was almost ridiculous. "A band... What's the name?" he asked, grasping at straws. What were they going to talk about? Her appearance? Her change?

Tal hadn't really changed over the years. Of course he was trying because he couldn't be in a relationship with his jealous tendencies. It had been getting worse and worse lately. The thought of Mia Bell dating anyone was infuriating to him. It was... No, he couldn't go there. "So date anyone special?" he asked.

They were out of things to talk about because it was now awkward. And yet, Mia felt really bad about all of this, because he didn’t respond to her friend statement. “Scripted Love. It’s an ironic name..” And it also sounded cool, it fit, she liked it and so did everyone else. Mia looked at the ground, were they really going to stand there and talk? Would this all be different if she had said they could try again?

Well, he didn’t have to worry about her dating anyone, the two guys she had dated after him ended badly, of course she was still friends with the last one. But they hadn’t gotten serious. Tal had no reason to be jealous of any guy in her life, but she knew how that felt. She raised an eyebrow, was he asking because he really cared? Or was he looking for something to get jealous over? “Do you truly care? But… I have dated two guys after you, they both didn’t end well.” She wasn’t going to lie to him and he needed to get over the fact that she dated other people, he was the one that left. She had to have moved on.”I guess they were special in a bad way..” Considering those two relationships are why she was so afraid to try again, even if it was someone from her past. “What about you? Have you dated anyone special? Or are you dating anyone?” Her heart ached at the question, but she was curious.

Ever since he left her, he didn't think of dating anyone else. Sure, there were girls in the school who were interested in him, who tried to get them to go out on blind dates with their cute best friends or guys who tried to hook him up with various girls throughout the town because he never got out and around, but he always turned them down. Tal bit the inside of his cheek. Would she think he was lying if he told her the truth? Sometimes things came out skewed and backwards, even though it was a straight line and everything would've been fine if they only believed him.

"None. No one special at all. Except you." He realized how corny that sounded, but it was all very, very true. Even if no one came to him with a date or something like that, he wasn't thinking of other girls. Was he your typical male? Tal was glad that he found Mia. He missed her voice, her dorky tendencies, but people changed over time. What if she wasn't the person he left behind? What if... No, he wouldn't think of that.

Still grasping at straws, he tried to think of something else that would spark any kind of conversation. Unfortunately, he was definitely out of topics to talk about. He opened his mouth three or four times before settling into silence. He rubbed his arms uncomfortably. "So, your band..." he began lamely.
