When I rule the world (Mat!)

Philip sometimes didn't see the point in school. He didn't see the point in waking up early, going to classes about stuff that he likely wouldn't use in the future. Even though he had absolutely no idea of what he wanted to go into, career wise, he still thought taking classes such as art and history were stupid. Sure, repeating the mistakes of history would be misfortunate, but when you had advisors if you were in charge of a nation, they'd be sure to make the connection for you. People really were idiotic to him, and it bugged the living daylights out of the teenager. If people could think, then the world wouldn't be having half of the problems that they were having right then - at least to him.

He was currently in the library, sitting at an otherwise empty table, textbook open. He'd needed to study for a chemistry test, because Mr. Collins had announced that the test was going to be hard for all who didn't study in class. Sure, he was a fair teacher, but the tests given by that man were hard, therefore Philip decided to study. Along with history, he was sure that he wouldn't need to know how to balance equations when he was an adult. There would be people for that. Plus, what did balancing equations have to do with his future success?

He really didn't notice someone sit down.

For most people, homework was punishment, but for Matías, homework was not. It was in fact many things, but never punishment. Homework was the opportunity to have better grades, to learn something new, to have something productive to do in the afternoon and not simply lay around doing nothing. It always bugged Mat when he had nothing to do, as his brain was fully active and restless was not an unusual state for him.

This day, he was restless. He had several books in his hands and was still walking around the library looking for some more, all with the intention of reading them through the afternoon and have all he need to do his homework good enough at night-time. Who needed sleep? Mat certainly didn't, specially when a morning power-training session had left him with the usual ADHD-like side-effects. Soon he was not only taking books related to his biology class, but also some literature works, some autobiographies he always meant to read and some books on art history. The boy was all over the place, and he was still adamant on reading them all in the course of one afternoon.

Well, that until his chest started pounding as his eyes passed through the direction of a dark-haired boy. He dropped all the books to the floor and quickly walked to his table, sitting down right next to him.

He probably stared at the in the least subtle of ways for some minutes before actually saying something. "I'm in love with you," he said.

Unlike Mat, Philip was perfectly happy to sit around and do absolutely nothing other than think. In fact, he relished the days where he had absolutely no homework to do, and no one to talk to. He only did his homework to get good grades, and organized himself well for that same purpose. Studying, too, was a waste of time to him, but he'd do it for the sake of his future. If he didn't study, he would be forced into a life that wouldn't be worthwhile to someone like him - one without prestigious colleges and a good job in something like law or politics, and not have to take classes that he didn't want to take.

He'd began to become aware of the stranger sitting right next to him after a minute or two. He could sense nervousness - and why not manipulate that nervousness? He'd figure what the fuss was about soon enough, and probably teach the intruder a lesson soon enough. Once he knew why the person was so nervous, he'd find a way to make things worse. Maybe. It depended upon what the other person was feeling anxiety towards. He could only manipulate pheromones to intensify emotions that already existed, after all.

The stranger's words shocked him - PJ certainly hadn't been expecting that. "Well, we've never even talked," he snapped. "How is that fucking possible?" He gave Mat a glare. Well... if it was a feeling of attraction towards him... maybe he could make it stronger, which would probably be amusing... but he had to be sure.

The boy was right. They have never talked, and in fact, it was likely that they had never seen each other, or at least Mat didn't find the other boy's face familiar. It had to be odd to start a conversation by proclaiming love for another person, but sadly, it was not the first time Mat had done it. He didn't know how this was possible, but he didn't care either.

"I don't know," he shrugged. "And I don't care," he shook his head. He was being honest, and in Mat's opinion, when one is honest, nothing else matters. "Will you be my boyfriend?" he asked the other boy, his eyes still fixated on him. Mat had no idea what the other boy's power was, or that it was unconsciously affecting him, or that his own powers side-effects were making him vulnerable to them. Truth was, this sort of thing isn't quite out of character for Matías. He loved this kid, even if he didn't know his name. "I promise I make a good boyfriend, we can marry next Fall. Do you like Fall weddings?"

Philip already could tell that he disliked Mat. There was something to be said about someone who asked someone out for no apparent reason - and PJ took it as a sign of being incredibly desperate. Why else would this person ask him out, anyways? No one had done so before, which was completely fine with him - in fact, he really didn't see the point in dating during high school. Nothing would last, anyways. High school couples rarely stayed together for more than a few months. Never did he think that someone would ask him out randomly, and never in a million years did he think that person would be a guy. He came to the conclusion that Mat was desperate, and decided to ask the first person that he met - that person being himself.

"Oh. My. God," Philip said, glaring harder, and crossing his arms. His method of intimidation never worked, but he continued to use the exact same technique over and over again. It was hard to think of other methods, in his defense. "Absolutely not. Do you think I'm that fucking desperate? I'll have you know, I'm as straight as an arrow." He rolled his eyes, but was definitely thinking of somehow manipulating this guy's pheremones to make him even more in love with him... that would be funny. Though, if he got annoying after a while, he'd stop, though he'd sort of gotten past the annoyed stage, and more into the amused. Most of the reaction, at this point, was acting. "Weddings disgust me. All that fucking money put into it is a waste."

He decided to go with it. He concentrated, now having the knowledge that this kid probably had a crush or something, and making them fall for him would be absolutely hilarious. Maybe Riley would get a bit annoyed, but hey, he'd deal with that bit later.

"Oh, I don't mind," Mat shook his head rapidly. "I can be straight too. I mean, I like girls. I just love you," he said. No, he didn't notice he was making poor sense, but he was talking truth nonetheless: Mat was in fact bisexual, and what he was feeling was sudden love over the brunette. Sudden and unexplained deep love, which didn't seem to be weird for him. He was feeling love, who was him to question it and why would he?

The Argentinean boy took a deep breath. His eyes had never stopped looking at the other boy. "We don't have to marry, then," he yielded. Matías indeed wanted to marry, both this boy and in general, but he was ok if his special someone didn't. It wasn't a necessity, and Mat was far too compliant to deny someone else's wishes. "Boyfriends is ok. But we don't have to be boyfriends either," Mat said while sliding his chair closer to the other boy until their bodies were basically centimeters away from the other's. "I just want to be close to you. Can I be close to you? I like being this close to you," he smiled honestly. "What's your name?" he wanted to know the name of the love of his life.

That surprised Philip. "You can't love me," he informed the other teen. It was troubling that someone could be so attached with someone that they had just met - and just plain odd. He'd never met someone like it, though he was kind of worried. If this kid could fall in love that quickly, he wondered how fast he went through boyfriends and girlfriends. It was probably going to be a matter of days before he fell "in love" with someone else, figured PJ, and if he ever managed to tell Riley the same thing - he probably would have an angry Philip chasing after him.

"Boyfriends? Hell no." Philip made a "pffft" sound and recrossed his arms, leaning back in the library chair. The whole thing was just getting awkward for him, but it was kind of amusing, still. He decided to further manipulate the teen's pheremones, probably making the feeling of love a little bit stronger. It wasn't too much - but just a little for now. "Not this close. Stay at least a foot away from me. Twelve inches." He wondered if he should tell the kid his name - well, it would be the right thing to do, and Riley would kill him if he'd lied to this person and been cruel. "PJ."
