A Long Awaited Break (Open)

Piper wandered into the library. Her classes were over for the day and she could finally take a break. The beginning of a story had been floating through Piper's head for the past few hours and now she could finally get it on paper. She rummaged around in her bag before finally pulling out her notebook completely devoted to stories and song lyrics. Piper pulled out a pen and started to hunt down the perfect spot to cuddle up in.
She surveyed the room before finally deciding on a love-seat in the science fiction area. Piper slowly drifted into her own world. She was told she does this while writing. Piper's mind slips into the story she is writing and seems to become one with the world and the characters. Piper runs along side them as they battle monsters and fall in love.
An hour crept by and the first chapter was nearing the end. Piper was just about to start her last paragraph when tragedy struck. Her favorite pen, the one her parents gave her for her tenth birthday, broke. Not only that but the black ink flooded the page and masked the words. Piper's hair started to stand on end. Emotions sometimes got the best of her and her locks were always there to help visualize it. Piper took a deep breathe and tried to calm herself down. These were the kind of times where her non existant friends would come and comfort her.
