Am I a Freak for Getting Down? (Dom)

While she normally preferred the security that came with holding herself up her her room, Lucy didn't feel like staying in there all day. Apparently the day was nice outside? Well, that was fine. As much as she preferred to bunker down with a nice set of online first person shooter matches, sunlight was apparently good for people. And she was on the search for someone.

When she reached the courtyard, Lucy opted to fall back on the grassy section and stare in the direction of the clouds. Her ears were blocked with headphones, blasting a notable distraction into her system so she didn't have to listen to the world and it's noise.

She sat up briefly, surveying her surroundings for signs of a recognisable face. There was a short list of people she really didn't want to run into. But Lucky's luck was failing her. In the distance she saw a familiar blonde walking through the courtyard. When their eyes locked, she fell back into the grass, as if somehow staying flat would make her unnoticeable. She flicked her sunglasses down for good measure, but sure enough within a few moments there was a shadow standing over her, and she was staring up at Homonique.

"Go. Away." Lucy seethed in his direction.

The earth was always that little more electric in summer; less water to clog it up and thicken it. Shoes in hand, Dom was enjoying feeling it shift under his feet. Surprisingly, it did wonders on clearing his head after a somewhat messy night. But Dom, someone may have pointed out, only hippies walk around barefoot to be one with mother earth.

Dom would have told this someone to kindly go and screw themselves.

He'd spied Lucy as she'd flopped onto the grass. For a moment, the terrakenetic paused where he stood, expression unreadable, before his mouth slipped into a sideward smirk and he caught her eye. The sunglasses went down, and his smirk widened as he made his way over, and dropped his shoes beside her.

Neither her words nor her tone was a particularly effective deterrent. "Floozy," he said, leaning down to pluck off her sunglasses. "Good to see you. Thought maybe you'd died, or something, you know, since you said you'd pick me up and then I saw some strange girl eating your face."

He himself had gone home with some girl with blonde hair, and had a drunken fumble or three before he'd gotten back to the dorm to find his quartz spheres.

The sound of something dropping near her head forced her eyes open, glancing in its direction. She cringed and crinkled her face when he took her sunglasses, forcing the light of day upon her.

"Forgot you were too much of a douche to listen." She snapped once he shot out his usual insult. She had every intention of staying silent until he walked away. He'd get bored eventually, right? But his blunt statement had her eyebrows raise. Surprise coloured her dark eyes among some harsh frustration.

What the actual fuck did he just say?

Lucy quickly pushed off the ground to stand up, extending her hand out; "Glasses, ladyface."

Cause she was about to be outta there.

"Well I guess you're too much of a raging bitch to see," Dom leered, eyebrows raised. He'd struck a nerve, and the blonde boy settled back on his heels with an expresion that screamed somewhat grim satisfaction.

Hardly shifting as Lucy stood up, Dom shifted the glasses behind his back and cracked open the earth behind his feet.

"Your favourite kind then,," he smirked, Lucy's sunglasses hanging over the crack in the earth as he dangled them between his fingers. "I never knew blue was your colour." One pale eyebrow raised. She wasn't going anywhere.

"Sneaking around wasn't a style I pegged you for."

"Yeah, that's exactly what it is." Lucy shot out, her voice dripping with sarcasm and annoyance. She was really pissed at herself for losing control of her face so openly. And with Dom of all people, she knew whatever she did or said would never be lived down. Like she wasn't confused enough about what was going on with this chick.

It was definitely aggravating to know that Dom - of all people - knew something he shouldn't.

She narrowed her eyes on him, glancing past to look at the ground open up and threaten to steal her glasses away. Her favourite kind. Really? Lucy stared back at his face, his eyes hidden behind tinted shades. She knew he was baiting her; that much was obvious. "But your eyes are so blue." Not that she could see them right now. They were perfectly hidden.

"Do you want me to punch you in the face?" Lucy asked, realising pretty quickly that those glasses were hardly worth standing around for.

Dom didn't even flinch at the threat; he'd heard it enough, and she only punched him once every ten or so times she said she would. "Touchy," he said, stating what was really so very, very obvious. "What's wrong, Lucy Goosey? Didn't want me to know about your lady friend?" He shook his head. "I'm hurt. I thought we were friends."

With friends like these....

"So how'd you two meet?" he asked, making it very clear he had no intention of moving out of the way,or giving up the glasses. "Was it love at first sight? Did she sweep you off your feet? Does the carpet match the drapes?"

He wasn't bitter. Not even a little. He was just... Dom. Being Dom. And that meant harassing his friend.

Dom was a successful shit stirrer and Lucy was already acutely aware of that. It usually made him a little more bearable, when he wasn't talking to her about things that were so up in the air. So today she was a little more on edge than she usually was. So sue her. "Dommy, you know you're my one true love." She sneered.

Because she could be snarky-snarky too.

But he kept going anyway, and it quickly became an almost overwhelming swarm of jokes. "It the faggy French boy a little jealous? Maybe feeling like he's not pretty enough for the tattooed Australian?" She asked, raising her eyebrows in pure curiosity. But no.

No. Y'know what? Fuck Dom. Fuck Dom and his fucking games. Lucy quickly snatched the glasses from his eyes, holding them back to her side; "Girls don't make passes at girls who wear glasses."

Dom laughed at that; to people like him and Lucy (she was like him), love was only a word you used to mock. Not serious. Never serious. He twirled the sunglasses up and put them on. "Ah, but I don't have the parts for you to really love me, Lucy lue," Dom grinned. "The wrong junk for your trunk, mon chaton."

He didn't so much as flinch when Lucy pulled them back off his face. "Well you should have let me keep them then," he reasoned, the crack behind him closing up slowly as Dom's fingers twitched.

"Do you want to go shopping?" He asked suddenly, after a moment of smug silence. "Get you some flannel? Maybe a few cats, too?"

"Ah yes, because we all know one sexuality is enough for everyone. Am I right, Dom?" Lucy asked, raising her eyebrows quickly and producing an amused grin. Yeah, right. Like Dom would ever limit himself to a single gender. He'd end up complaining that he wouldn't get enough.

Or that it wasn't fair to the gender he left out.

She shrugged her shoulders, finding comfort in the tinted lenses that shielded her from the bright sun; "I know. Missing the opportunity of a life time, ain't I." They were words he'd said before. That he was the opportunity of a life time and she was constantly wasting her time by not accepting his advances.

Lucy folded her arms in front of her chest, breathing a heavy sigh when he started again. "How about you just give me a sharp rock so I can stab myself in the jugular."

Dom's smiles never spread particularly wide, and this one was no different as it slipped up one side of his face. It reflected in Lucy's newly required glasses and he took a second to push a few strands of hair back into the style. Perfect. "You do that a lot," he agreed. "So many opportunities wasted."

Lucy was special; he'd never once tried to sleep with her. Well, not seriously... or soberly...

But that didn't mean he'd never asked. Oh, he'd asked. It was what he did.

Kicking at the dirt, Dom considered the sharp rock idea. "Or," he said, "you could just kiss me. It'd be our secret. That'd shut me up. " She'd also never do it. Check and mate.

At first, Lucy scoffed at the idea. Because there was no way he was being honest. She doubted Dom had the capacity to keep a secret; much less one like this or what he'd witnessed. Therefore, it was hardly worth what she'd have to pay for his so-called-silence.

But he had a challenging tone about him.

A tone that just infuriated her.

"Yeah, cause you're about to keep any kind of secret." She replied with pure sarcasm. Why would she trust the guy? Then again, he was successful at keeping his cards close to his chest. No one really knew anything about him. Perhaps that's why they got along so well in the first place.

She stepped up to the plate with a shrug; "Okay, fine."

Because of course, in her mind he didn't specify. So she could do whatever she wanted. Lucy leaned inward and - with minimal contact - she pressed the quickest kiss to his lips imaginable before opting to take half a step back.

"You'll be shutting your mouth now, yeah?"

It was not easy to surprise a Chevalier. Dom's eyes widened when Lucy just shrugged, grin slipping a little. Wait, wait, hang on just a sec-

It was over before it begun though, not a kiss at all, unless you were kissing an elderly relative. Dom concentrated, and the ground rippled under their feet. He used the moment of imbalance to tug Lucy forward. If they were going to do this, they'd do it right.

"Well," he said, "that was under-welming. You kiss like a corpse." His arm was quite firm around Lucy's back. "Try again. Pretend I'm miss blue, if it helps."

Satisfied with the result, Lucy had gone to create some distance between them. But the ground beneath her feet shook and she was forced to stumble forward. And lucky - or unlucky - for Lucky, Dom had her. His arms were around her and she was pulled forward, pressed against him somewhat unwillingly.

This was... Weird.

"Kiss a lot of corpses, do ya?" She snapped back, all but forced to rest her hands against his collarbones. It wasn't like she could put them anywhere else. And he was way too strong to actually fight against, so she didn't really bother.

Dammit, he was so used to getting his way. And she had no choice now, so he was about to again. "And you're going to keep your mouth shut about what you saw." She said. Not asked. It wasn't a question, it was a statement. One she hoped he'd adhere to if whatever friendship they had actually held any meaning.

So she leaned forward again, this time curling her fingers into the fabric of his shirt and pulling him forward a little as she kissed him. With feeling, as requested.

Because frustration and anger were totally legitimate feelings.

"That's the deal," Dom agreed, and he meant it too. She'd risen to his challenge; he could respect that. And he'd keep his word. Carter didn't count, but Lucy would know that. The twins had no secrets, not from each other.

When pulled, he came forward easily without any resistance. As Lucy knew, Dom was very used to getting his way.

Angry kissing wasn't a new thing, not when you had a habit of picking up people who were on the rebound. His secret was to keep the anger simmering just under his skin; it made excellent armor.

But he was feeling... personally angry too, and his response held that and...

Mine.

He broke away quickly, the moment that thought crawled out. How weird. "Huh," he said, quickly, to break whatever stupid moment might attempt to happen. "Well, that was alright I guess." Quickly, his arms crossed over his chest. "Deal's a deal. Secret's safe with me, floozy."

Lucy would have been quite content going through her whole life without ever kissing Dom. But some part of her knew that if she ever did, it would be the angry kind. And it was. She was so unbelievably pissed at him for putting her in this situation, and she was just as pissed at herself for letting him get her there.

This was why public displays of affection were never a good idea. Ever, ever, ever.

But somewhere along the way, it became more than that. Whatever it was, it had her pulling away just as he had, her eyes flying open to offer a blank stare.

A distant expression.

"Yeah, whatever." Lucy retorted, stepping back finally and resting her hands on her hips. "Well... You're a lousy kisser." She added quickly, breathing an obviously laugh; "I'm not missing out on much."

Finally she looked back at him, a little appreciative when he the secret was safe. "Sweet. Well..." A confused look in her eyes as she finally glanced away, "I should go..."
