A book with a million stories in it.

It was a beautiful day, blue sky, bright sun, not to hot, the whole picture. So as Vikki walked through the courtyard she couldn't help but sit down on a bench in the court yard. She reached into her bag and pulled out her sketch book and pencil. It was full of doodles and such from back in Boston, pictures of people walking down the street, the people who walked without noticing the girl writing sketching away in the book. She pulled out he big head phones she had and turned her I-pod on shuffle. She entered her own world when she sketched.

Riley wasn't much of a fan when it came to hanging around at school when he didn't need to. He'd rather be downtown or at home even. Yet here he was. Walking around the courtyard without nothing to do. He was bored, that much was obvious. He was also angry, but that wasn't really news. He was always angry. He took a glance around to see if there was any familiar faces around. Hopefully someone he could take out all of his anger on. And then he saw her.

Must have been his lucky day to find Vikki out here, at least when he was in the mood for picking on someone. She was just the right person for that. That annoying, little twat of a girl always seemed to pick on his nerves, even when she didn't try to. But he didn't exactly complain. They had their nicer moments too. Sometimes.

He walked over with his hands in his pockets. He didn't care if she couldn't hear him because of the headphones. That wasn't really his problem. He kicked her leg and grinned. ''Hey twat. What are you doing out of your hole?'', he asked and kicked her again. If she hadn't been a girl, he'd totally kick a lot harder, but hey. That fragile little thing could break, and all of his fun would be over.

Vikki looked up for a second to see who was kicking her. She couldn't hear what he was saying through her blaring 80's rock pumping through her speakers. She decided she was going to be into 80's rock now. She decided that mourning when she woke up. She did this often. Like how she one day chose to only wear her combat boots to school, or the day she chose to only use head phones instead of ear buds, or like now. When she chose not to remove her head phones because she honestly could not think of a single thing that this ass whole could say that would interest her. Instead she went back to sketching her doodles in her book.

"What ever you have to say," she stated in that loud voice that people use when they can't hear themselves talk over their own music, "I suggest you go say it to some one who...you know...gives two shits what you have to say. I know that much be hard to find, but keep trying. I'm sure some one, some where, has a life so empty and meaningless that they have time to care about you."

As she continued sketching she swore slightly under her breath, "Hands, god damn you why couldn't we evolve using flippers or anything else that would be easier to draw."

Riley didn't care much if she didn't bother to take off her headphones or not. Or so he told himself anyways. What annoyed him was her petty I'm-better-than-you act. If she hadn't been a chick, he'd totally smack that right off her smug face. ''If you didn't care, you wouldn't even have bothered in the first place.'', he replied, chuckling. ''And you wouldn't have bothered trying to press in a remark either. A poorly one at that, but the point still stands.'' He lifted the sketching book out of her hand and studied it. He wasn't much of an art person, but even he could see that she had some sort of talent.

''What are you drawing? Chewbacca?'', he said and shrugged, throwing the book back at her. It landed next to her on the ground. Too bad it wasn't raining that day, then he coulda really pissed 'er off. He kicked her foot again, lighter this time. ''But since you're going to be such a bitch about it, I'ma go find someone more fun to hang with.'' He shrugged and turned around, getting ready to leave again.

''Try not to choke on your own poisonous tongue, dear.''

For a moment Vikki just sat there, staring in hatred as he threw her book to the ground. She had no clue what he said but she did know he just threw her baby, her way of seeing the world into the dirt. "Excuse me." She said, standing to her full height and ripping her head phones off. She glared at him the a fiery hatred you only get when some one really pisses you off. "Were you raised in a barn? What the hell is wrong with you! I'm just sitting here doing my thing and you come and try to mess with me. Dear lord you are pathetic."

Vikki scooped up her book and held it to her chest like it was her first born. "God damn you are such a waist of space. It's hard to believe you beat thousands of other sperm." she said as she turned. She was sure he wouldn't let her just walk away but she said her bit and she was done. She whipped the dirt off the blue book, and took a step, to walk away.
