Evening Patrol (Open!)

The evening air felt cool upon Joseph's face as he walked through the seemingly empty courtyard. The security guard took his job seriously, and always made sure no one gets in or out of the school without permission. It was summer so there were less students at the school but he still had a job to do. He often caught students trying to sneak out after hours and instead of sending them to the front office, he usually had a talk with them instead. If the student refused to listen to reason he would regrettably send them to their punishment.

When he was a teenager he attended Hammel and he remembered how tempting it was to drink or sneak out at night. Lots of students got hurt because of all the late night runs and Joseph would prevent the current generation of Hammel from suffering the same mistakes they did. He was aware there was still a lot of underage drinking and partying going on at Hammel but he couldn't stop everything. The best he could do was catch the students in the act and talk them out of it before they made a mistake that could alter their life forever.

The sprinklers in the grass went off next to Joseph's feet and he continued observing the courtyard, shining his flashlight every now and then. As he walked, he noticed an oddity in the fence. When he reached the fence he noticed a hole large enough to squeeze a person through. He rolled his eyes and grabbed his utility knife and began patching up the fence the best he could, keeping an ear out for movement.

Brooke did little to hide her approach to the hole in the fence, the one which she frequently used to sneak off campus and run down to the town and clubbing district. She was actually feeling pretty listless tonight, not really up for clubbing, but decided to hop to it anyway, hoping the energy of other would perk her right up. It never actually worked, but she could try anyway. As she got closer to the fence, she saw a hulking figured kneeling down next to the golden doorway to freedom and she announced herself loudly as she stomped through the grass and thickets.

"Well, fuck me sideways with a rake and throw away the key." Which didn't make any sense. "And here I thought that hole was cleverly hidden behind a hologram. Or maybe that whole 'don't notice it unless you're in it' force field, like in that one show, what's it called? what's it called?" Brooke snapped her fingers trying to recall the name of the campy british show she never paid attention to. The skinny shifter had done herself all up in her partying attire. A short white rayon dress, clear high heels that made one instantly think "Cinderella", and her straight red hair pulled up in a half-knot, letting the strands splay out like fiber optics and the rest hang down like....hair. She kept about $100 cash stuffed in her left bra cup.

Brooke knelt down next to the hulking colossus and poked his bicep. "So who the hell're you? Hav'n't see ya about before. New?"
