All she needed were some movies in a bag, some that would be appreciated by a fellow horror fan, and throw on a green hoodie over her clothes. Lyra was not a girl all about gussying up, not for just hanging out in someone’s room for the evening.
The girl reached under her bed and pulled out a mirror small-sized all mirror: the frame was art deco in style with intertwined patches of red and gold. This was a prize of a random afternoon in a thrift shop in the North End – leave it to the Italians to have something this gaudy lying around! Lyra found eccentric frame charming enough to buy it, long before ever even knowing she had an ability that would give it far more use than just décor.
“Let’s go see Luce.” She told her reflection with a bright grin, resting the mirror on its side. Reaching in, the mirror rippled like water and the small girl was allowed passage into the world on the other side. The initial darkness was not to last long, small rays of light flittered from shapes: screens, mirrors and liquids in all rooms around her. It would be dizzying…if Lyra had not already set a path to her acquaintance’s room.
“Well then world.” Lyra said into the darkness, half-floating past the multitude of windows into reality. Backward texts and game screens flickers across the screens, while figures lived their merry lives without ever knowing one could even catch a glimpse of their solitary time.
“Show me to Luce’s room. I know I left a mark.”
Yes, because that's totally not stalker-ish, the girl thought to herself. Fully aware of how weird it could look, but then how the hell else was she going to quickly get to a friendly-type’s room for shenanigans? Using the door? That's just so….normal. And boring! Aside from that, it did give her a chance to see what this world was capable of – case in point, trying to find the damned mark.
Should not be too difficult, Lucy’s room wasn't far from hers.
