Pranktastic (Open!)

All right, perhaps Oriel had been trying to help and had simply gotten carried away. Children played pranks on each other all the time, and the majority of them were unintentionally cruel simply because they didn't understand. Not that this let him off the hook, and he'd still be reported, but now there was some reasoning to temper the intent. "And I thank you for bringing her here," Nik stated, softening her tone a bit to something less icy. "I would have expected no less from you."

Moving from her seat on the bed to the filing cabinet, the pale doctor flipped through the stacks of forms starting with "M". Of course, no "Masterson, Sufiya" existed in those records; she'd check on the computer just in case this was a new student, but for the moment she moved on to the "S" section. And there, right there, was "Speer, Georgina".

Taking the file out, the albino woman scanned it a moment. There; height, weight, hair color, eye color - all matched up well with the girl before her. Shuffling through the papers produced a photo that had slipped out as well... matching, of course, the amnesiac. Tracking, hm? An unusual side-effect for that. I'll have a medical bracelet made for her in case this happens again. Which it very well may.

Turning back to the pair, Nik sat down and presented the folder to George, open. "Here," she stated softly. "This may help a bit."

The photo lay on top, resting over the name on the surface papers. From there were accounts of relatives, known allergies, medical treatments in the past, and information regarding her powers (and their known side-effects). It was very dry and clinical, but all sorts of information was there. Hopefully, it wouldn't cause too much of a backlash as she sorted through all of it.

Damn…what if he really screwed her up with that little prank? Well, it was her own fault in the first place, she's the one who decided to drop herself into a hole and overuse her power, especially exactly after Oriel had just told her not to! How dumb could you get, really!?

Nope, Oriel refused to believe he did anything wrong, nope. He did what he had to do, comforted a girl in distress, brought her to where she needed to be, to someone who could actually help her, and all it took was a couple of little white lies. He was definitely in the right here…..

"Yeah…" he said, unable to vocalize any of the things he was trying to convince himself of.

He heard the doctor shuffle through the cabinets and looked again as she set the file in front of the girl. Curious, Oriel leaned forward to get a better look at the file. "Speer, Georgina," he started to slowly read the information out loud over her shoulder. "Born November 26, 1996. London. United Kingdom…..huh…" He pointed to something random on the page, arching himself over the seated girl. "What's that mean?" he asked, looking up at Dr. Nik.

She drank some more juice as the woman in front of her first spoke to Ariel, and then went off to find some information about her, possibly. She sighed and swirled the drink around in its bottle, watching it move. The repetitive movement was easing, but she was anxious to know what was going on. Soon, the lady took out a file. Intrigued, she put her drink to the side and sat up a little straighter as it was displayed in front of her. She saw the photo and she definitely recognized the face, whether it was her's or not, she wasn't sure. She listened as Ariel echoed the words on the page. She looked at the picture again, and pulled her hair in front of her face, looking at its colour, which was the same as in the photo, and its length, where it was a bit longer than in the picture, but it was styled the same. She still had her doubts though... it still felt more like she was looking at someone else's details and not her own.

She looked at the word that Ariel had pointed at and read it out loud, "Tonsillectomy." She felt her eyes widen and remembered her most vivid memory, gasping slightly. "Holy crap, I remember that." She looked up, at the doctor, "I remember being in a hospital, because I had to have a tonsillectomy, because my tonsils were always flaring up." She scanned the information again and small parts of it slotted in with the remnants of her memory: her mother's name, her birthday, her birthplace, the tonsillectomy. She saw the transferral date of her arrival at Hammel, which she just guessed was where she was for the time being, and remembered saying goodbye to friends, she presumed. She smiled as small parts of her came back. She kind of... accepted everything else that was there, hoping to God that she wouldn't be making a mistake in doing so.

"Is... is this really me?" It sounded stupid coming out of her mouth, but sh- Georgina wanted to be certain she wasn't screwing with her own mind.

As the pair looked over the file, Nik sat back and watched wordlessly, impressed with how easily Georgina remembered herself. Granted, temporary amnesia as a power side-effect did wear off faster than normal, but it was good to know that should they be in a similar predicament next time that it was this easy to start fixing things again. And, judging by how calmly (even excitedly) she was reacting to all this information, there was no lasting damage from Oriel's little prank. Which was a relief in of itself because she didn't want to have to send the poor dear to Sean to sort out her real memories from fabricated ones.

"It looks like it, yes," she replied kindly. "Welcome back to the land of remembering, Georgina."

"Ton-sill-ec-tomy…" Oriel repeated slowly, sounding out the syllables as if he'd never said them before. Which he hadn't. The rest of the page was pretty much gibberish to him though. A smile slowly crept on his lips as she started recanting the tale of the procedure. Oriel couldn't relate, he'd never had surgery before. But it sounded like she was on the right track.

"Sounds like it," he said, leaning forward just a bit more from behind her. "I mean, Sufiya's nice, but Georgina….well, that's a name I can get used to. I'll even call you George." Oriel gave her a friendly pat on the head. "Now that I know your real name, I don't have to keep making one up for you." He didn't know if she was present enough to understand his teasing humor, but he stuck his tongue out at her anyway.

"Everyone calls me George." she stated, the fact coming back to her head as he said it. She couldn't stop smiling, it felt like all her confusion and worry was over. She grimaced slightly as Ariel patted her head, she wasn't a puppy dog. "Nng." she let out that little groan of displeasure, but still smirked, even giggling a little. She looked at him and stuck her tongue out as well.

She was back.
