When she was a student, she snuck into the bar once, and it was possibly one of the best nights of her high school career, of course until she got kicked out. The absolute bliss and adrenaline of doing something bad, something naughty, was intoxicating to Faye. 

Now she was back, and legal, and had been legal for some time now and the bar didn't have that mystery that it did when she was 16, ten years ago. The thought of how much time had passed was nauseating to the blonde as she watched the college students dance around like idiots, while sipping her IPA. She didn't know when she started drinking beer instead of martinis. Some time after coming to Vermont no doubt. "I'll take another." She told the bar tender once she hit the bottom, her eyes drifting back to the dance floor. It was going to be a long night, she only hoped she wouldn't be spending it alone.

It had been a long night. Everett had invited his sister over to his apartment because he hadn't seen her in a long time and it just turned into a war between them. About Jackson. It was always about Jackson...but this time he learned that they had broken up and that Kiara was heartbroken and he'd insensitively rubbed it in her face instead of comforting her and so now he was walking into the bar and plopping down at a stool there.

He signaled to the bartender. "What can I get for you?"

Everett promptly answered whiskey, even though Gabe always told him he was too much of a pussy to drink it. He'd show him! He looked over at the blonde who was asking for another beer and nodded approvingly. "Wow, no girly fruity drinks? Impressive," he said before downing nearly half of his whiskey and feeling it burn in his throat as it went down.

 "Wow, no girly fruity drinks? Impressive," 

It didn't matter if he was hitting on her or not. That was rude, sexist, and unappreciated. "Believe it or not my fragile feminine innards can handle something that isn't masked to taste like cherry barf." Ok, maybe she responded a bit more harshly than she should have. She looked over at him, giving a mischievous smirk. Hopefully this would bandaid her bitchiness, despite her eyes still being made of pure ice.

She was happy to see the boy who sat in front of her. She was curious though if he was a boy or a man. She didn't consider any of the students men... actually she hadn't met a real man since being there and he was probably younger than her. That wouldn't stop Faye though, she was lonely and needed something more than a polite, professional conversation, like the ones she'd been entertaining at work. 

She couldn't help but wonder who he was here with. He didn't look like someone who would drink alone. "What brings you here... whiskey?" She asked, using his drink as his name as the bartender came back with it and her beer. Once she grabbed the bottle she frosted it. She hated warm drinks, and to Faye most things were too warm. Even now she was having a hard time getting comfortable and despite it being Vermont in the winter, Faye found herself wearing mini skirts and tank tops whenever possible. Tonight was no acception as she sported a sapphire colored halter top and a black bandage skirt with heels that were a mile high.

Everett held up his hands, as if to fend off any defensive comments from this woman. "Whoa, whoa. I was just saying! Most women can't handle the taste that beer and other drinks offer. If you're getting drunk off of martinis and wine coolers, then you aren't doing it right." He hadn't been trying to offend her, but rather show how impressed he was by her choice of drink. Apparently he hadn't come off the right way. What else was new?

He didn't usually go to the bar so much and his best friend Gabe was going through some self-crisis that Everett wasn't sure how to ask about. He found matters like that awfully awkward as he never new quite what to say and just came off as a jerk. So he'd left him at home, saying he was going out with other friends when really he was just going out by himself. Wow, I'm lame.

But her question, followed by referring to him as Whiskey, made his lips perk up in a smile. "Regret of being an asshole to my lovesick sister and well...whiskey." Did that mean he had to call her beer? That just sounded strange. "What brings you here....in a skirt when it's winter? You're not from here, are you?"

Why did she have to be such a stone cold bitch. She needed friends. A potential friend was sitting right in front of her and she had to be a massive bitch and get offended right off the bat. She internally kicked herself. "Sorry... I guess I'm on edge tonight." She admitted with a shrug. She was in the midst of handing in the final paperwork to be able to classify herself as officially divorced. Her heart was in shambles, confidence shattered, and she was still recovering from the baby she'd lost last spring that ultimately caused her relationship to fail. It was a lot and Faye didn't deal with emotions well. She could probably do well from regular visits to a therapist, but she'd yet to get that far. Hell she hadn't even unpacked all her boxes yet...

She smirked when he asked about her skirt. "I just really like the cold." She told him taking a swig of her beer. "And I'm... kind of." She shrugged. "I mean I went to high school at Hammel so I'm used to the weather, but I grew up in San Diego and then went to college in Boston so really I'm pretty acclimated to both." She was doing well! Friendly, and a hint of a smile which was rare. Now if only she could get more comfortable, she felt like everything was forced and fake, but that was mostly because of her own nerves and the fact she was feeling something she'd never felt before, insecure. 

"I'm Faye." She added, as her eyes drifted to the dance floor watching how barbaric the dancing was. "i don't understand how that's considered dancing... nothing like salsa or anything worth doing for anything other than sex." It was a bit forward but true, and she wasnt embarrassed by sex, sex was beautiful, this was gross.

"Aren't we all?" Everett asked, although it was more of a rhetorical question. He took another swig of whiskey, trying to hide the distaste on his face. It took a lot of whiskey for him to become accustomed to the taste and then he couldn't even taste it anymore... He didn't remember the last time he was drunk, but he honestly wouldn't mind it right now. "Don't worry about it. I'm not in a place to judge."

"Ah, that's quite the weather change. Does Cali even get winter?" It was more of a sarcastic remark than anything and he grinned. "I went to Hammel as well. What year did you graduate?" He couldn't really place her face, so he wasn't sure he'd known her when he was in school there. But damn, girl went to college. That was more than Everett could say for himself.

"Everett," he replied and followed her gaze to the dance floor as he took another drink of whiskey, nearly choking on it. "Damn, say how you really feel."

Faye smiled at his sarcasm. She really appreciated sarcasm from other people, it made her feel like she wouldn't get in trouble as much. "You did? I graduated in 2005." She told him, feeling really old all of a sudden. She really hoped he didn't tell her he graduated within the past year or so, that he had used a fake to get in or any of that. She had standards, and while she wasn't positive she'd try to seduce the man in front of her, she was feeling awfully lonely, and some physical comfort wouldn't be declined from the curvy blonde tonight. 

She blushed. "Sorry... that I guess I come off kind of... Cold." She said taking another swig of her beer. She wondered if she should have ordered something stronger. "Excuse me!" She said to the bar tender. "Can I get two fireball shots please?" She asked deciding to get one for her new friend too. She loved fireball, nothing warmed her up more. Her eyes went back to the dancefloor, watching as a few girls "bumped" and "grinded" with some Jersey Shore wanna bes. "Do you dance at all?" She asked raising a brow at him. She wouldn't mind showing him a thing or too.

"I graduated in..." Everett paused, kicking back another swig of his whiskey as he thought about. Man, how many years had it been now? "Uh, man it would be a lot easier if you just told me how old you were." He was joking. Mostly of course. Graduation seemed like eons ago to him, although he was sure it wasn't that long ago. "2008...yeah that seems right." He chuckled and waved a hand. "Don't worry about it. That just means you'd make a kickass comic book villain." Okay, so that was lame, but it wasn't as if Everett noticed. "Besides, this shot will make up for it. I haven't had one of these before."

He then followed her gaze again to the dance floor. "Not really. Or at least not like that."

She chuckled watching him figure out the year. He wasn't particularly good at math, she wasn't either though so she didn't judge. "I'm 26" She told him. The age seemed odd coming off her lips. She didn't know how she got to that age so fast and yet felt so beyond it. "A comic book character huh?" She asked raising a brow, a genuine smile coming onto her face. "i don't tell many people this... but I'm a huge comic book fan... video games too. I hope I can trust you with that information, wouldn't want that getting out." She said, though didn't mind. Most people couldn't imagine her playing call of duty or reading Iron Man comics before she went to sleep. 

"I don't mean like that." SHe said as the bartender gave them the shots. She handed one to Everett not even  asking if he wanted it. If he didn't that was his problem. "I love dancing, but... Come. I'll show you." She said and downed her shot taking his hand ready to go towards the dance floor.

"Ah, alright. I'm 23, so that means I got it right," Everett said with a grin. She didn't even look 26 honestly, but then again, did he look 23? People often told him he looked younger because he had a baby face and it was practically impossible for him to grow facial hair, unlike his best friend Gabe. "Yes, a comic book character," he repeated. And she was smiling and it made him smile. God, what were the chances that she'd smile at that? Most girls scoffed at him. But score one for Ev! "Don't let it get out? But man, that makes you like ten times more attractive, why would you keep that to yourself?" Video games and comic books? He honestly wouldn't have pegged her for the type. And just like that a billion questions popped into his head. He wanted to know what comics she'd read and what video games she was into, but he didn't want to ask too much, so instead he lifted up the shot glass and downed it in one fluid motion.

And then she was pulling on his hand and he barely had enough time to set the glass down on the bar as he led her to the dance floor.

She chuckled as he went on about the comic books. She had a feeling he'd like that. She wasn't sure what it was about him but he seemed kind of like he was a nerd, a hot nerd, but a nerd. She could have some fun with him. That and she doubted he was an amature with women, and if he was... perhaps she could fix that. She felt like she was in college again, hitting on a guy with no real intentions other than to feel close to someone for a little while. Maybe they could end up friends after this... they seemed to have at least a few things in common, Hammel, nerdy interests, maybe he could be her fun little thing for a while. 

"I wouldn't want to be too hot. If everyone knows it'll make me... intimidating." She joked landing on the dance floor as a new song came on, thankfully that damn Kanye song was over and something a little more, fun replaced it. She snaked her arms up around his neck and pulled her body close to his. "Have you ever danced before?" She asked, "And no, grinding doesn't count." She smirked. SHe had a feeling she'd be leading, but maybe he'd surprise her.

She laughed. That was a good thing, right? Right? It'd been a while since he'd really flirted with a girl. He'd been trying to grow up, to concentrate on getting a job after he'd dropped out of college when all he wanted to do was cook. And now he was working part time in a restaurant and also a powers trainer at Hammel. Besides, girls didn't usually take interest in him anyway the moment he started talking. He wanted to find someone who actually liked to hear him talk.

"True. Things could get out of hand very quickly," he joked in return. "But seriously, that's the kind of thing you can't just keep to yourself. I mean, maybe I should keep it to myself because it seems like the moment I start talking about my interests, women lose interest." He shrugged his shoulders. "But I think it just makes you even hotter, where as for some reason, it makes me less attractive." He was rambling again. Damn, he forgot how he never shut up around women.

As she led him to the dance floor, he was relieved. No more Kanye. As she wrapped her arms around his neck, his hands fell to her waist. "If grinding doesn't count...then no. Not really, but I guess it depends what you consider dancing. I slow danced with a girl at a dance once."

"I'm flattered that you think so." She said, if she was normal perhaps she would have blushed here, instead her body started to get a bit colder, hopefully he wouldn't notice. It was one of those side effects from her abilities she couldn't help and actually disliked. She always got colder when everyone else was getting hotter. "I don't think it's embarrassing... I actually kind of like that you like comic books and stuff... it keeps you more interesting and imaginative." She told him, "I mean at least it's an interest, most people don't even have any at all... So what's your favorite comic book?" She asked as she started to lead them, she was proud of herself, she had managed to stay pleasent for over 5 minutes now. It was probably the booze though, that always made things easier, and she was starting to feel it. 

"Grinding doesn't count." She told him as they entered a slow dance. The song was right for the moment. "I really like dancing... I did salsa for a while... It was fun... sensual and... I don't know I guess it made me feel connected to people for once." She was probably telling him too much, but that's what alcohol did.... spilled the beans. "I mean..." She knew she was sounding dumb. "I mean with the world the way it is with technology and all... it feels like people never really connect... never really... see each other." She said looking up to meet his eyes. "Dancing forces you to notice someone else. To really take them in...." She paused. "I really sound like a fucking lunatic don't I?"

"Thanks," Everett mustered. "I like being more interesting and imaginative. A lot of people around our age seemed to have lost their imaginations, you know? It's sad. I don't want to live a boring adult life." He couldn't even believe he was 23. He grinned when she asked the question he'd been dying to ask her. "Don't even get me started. I read almost everything, but...all the batman comics are by far my favorite." He could go on for a very long time about his affinity for batman, but he decided to not let that dominate the conversation.

They began dancing slowly, swaying together to the music. "No," he told her when she was done speaking. "No, I sound like a lunatic. I'm the one that keeps going on and on about comic books." He grinned at her. "Seriously though, I...understand what you mean. Everyone's so disconnected, especially as they get older...I mean, how does my sister expect me to find love when everyone around me is so caught up in their own lives that they don't take the time to connect with others?" He was saying way too much now as well. He blamed the alcohol. He'd met her eyes, the smile reaching his own.

She nodded as he spoke then smiled. "Batman is actually the one comic book I never read... I don't know why." She shrugged. "I'm more of a Marvel girl than DC... although... Disney..." She didn't want to go on further into that, she'd get upset and she was sure, seeing how excited he was to be talking about the subject to begin with, she didn't need to explain more about that shrug.

She was surprised at how well she fit with him, physically. From a dancing perspective they were perfect heights for each other. But no one was into ballroom dance, but her, and the select few others that were raised on strictly ballroom. She used to wish that she could be a ballerina, or a professional dancer, but then her abilities came in and she was shipped off to Hammel.... it made her resent the school for a while, yes she loved it for the escape from her fucked up home life with her cheating, absent father, but it also stole any prospect of following certain dreams. After all, those with abilities had no choice but to go to the school. 

"Your sister expects you to find... love?" She asked wincing at the word. She didn't mean to but... she wasn't so sure she believed in love anymore. "I mean I guess internet dating." She said getting back to the other part of the statement, pushing away the L word she didn't want to repeat again. "But then again that goes back to the technology thing... and I mean i'm all for it... if you need to find something but... I mean growing up i never fanticized about meeting Mr. Right by scrolling through profiles... I always wanted to meet him on a subway or at the movies or park or... anywhere." She chuckled, she felt so stupid, the alcohol was even stronger now and she had loose lips. She could do with another drink though too. "It's stupid but I always imagined a perfect guy bounding in on a horse or something and just pulling me into his arms and kissing me.... just him knowing that I was right for him from the first moment... no doubts." She sighed heavily, this was a difficult topic, she so wanted to talk about it, but she was so jaded. "But I don't think that happens... not for everyone at least..." Not for Faye. "I mean if it did I wouldn't be divorced... at 26."
