My Hands (Open)

It had been a long time since Penelope had set her feet inside the art studio. She had walked around for the longest time almost feeling embarrassed about her 'gift'. She was known for that mean bitch that didn't give a rat's ass about anyone around her. Well, that wasn't all that true. She was just incredible angry at the world. Mostly because of the way her father had died, but also at her mother for cheating on him while he was still alive. Yes, Penelope's life was an endless road of screw up's and bad memories. But at least she had finally come to terms with her situation and she was back in the art studio; Painting.

She had been missing in action for quite some time now, avoiding pretty much everyone she knew. It had been lonely, even she could admit to that. It had been difficult too, but she was done with running away. She was going to grow up and face her fears. Well, she was going to try.

Penelope couldn't help but to smile at the way the wet painting felt against her skin or the way it smelt. She had really missed this. Singing and dancing was also two things she loved dearly, but nothing could compare to her love for art. Nothing.

And hey... Since she was alone she could sing too. Not that she was embarrassed about her singing or anything, because duh, she was really good at it! It just felt really nice to open up and let it all out through song.

And that's what she did too; Sing.

Junpei wasn't so much an artist as he was a doodler. And being raised in the land of the rising sun, his style typically took the form of cartoons with disproportionate eyes and unrealistic hair. He'd been scolded more than his fair share of times back at home for his inattentive wanderings such that he was made to feel somewhat ashamed of his talent, if it could be called that. But since having come to Hammel, Junpei felt like he could finally spread his wings an explore the interests that his aunt and uncle chronically deemed "frivolous and unnecessary".

So Junpei was heading to the art room to work on some of the "frivolous and unnecessary" activities that he was having quite a grand time exploring with a song in his heart. Or rather on his lips. And actually he was humming. And it wasn't so much a song as it was sounds that resembled a dying rhinoceros.

It was only a few minutes, but as he approached the door to the art room, Junpei heard singing that was actually good and he hovered awkwardly outside the door, wondering if he should go inside, or wait, or go back? One hard executive decision later and Junpei quietly opened the door and let himself in, trying his best not to startle the olive-skinned girl. However, it was during a break in the singing that the door clicked shut and he stood there wide-eyed, wondering if she heard that.

Penelope was used to having people around her all the time, whether it was on purpose or not, so the sound of the door shouldn't have startled her as much as it did. In the moment of surprise, Penelope swung around and knocked over a can of paint in the process, which only startled her even more. ''Holy mother of...ffffff...'', she hissed, mostly to herself.

Penelope's eyes went to the paint covered floor, up to the boy standing there like a scared puppy and back to the floor again. ''Don't just stand there, Dopey. Help a girl out?'' It wasn't as much a question as a demand, but hey, at least she wasn't being overly rude. That was progress, right? Yeah. Totes. She looked back up at the boy and raised her eyebrow at him, never really giving the poor kid a chance to reply. ''Well, come one then! We don't got all day.''

Maybe this kid was one of those slow ones...

Oh dear, Junpei had not intended this to happen. Actually, that was exactly what he was trying to prevent, surprising her into having an accident or something. She turned and snapped at him to help, to which he just nodded sharply and uttered out an equally sharp "yes!".

Junpei quickly stepped forward towards where they kept the cleaning supplies, in the closet. He propped the door of the closet open with a chair(because more than enough people had gotten trapped in this closet before) and then soon emerged from it with some towels and sprays. "I am sorry," he said once he arrived with it, immediately starting to help the girl clean up. "I did not mean to scare." His voice was soft and apologetic. Hopefully she wasn't too upset with him.
