A Black Day for Humanity (OPEN)

Black Friday 5AM
Ricio hadn't realized what day it was. Admittedly, he knew it was somewhere around Thanksgiving since his brother had mentioned it. But since it was cold out more these days he didn't see much of Chuck. And since Ricio wasn't up for going inside long enough for dinner, the two didn't really get a chance to celebrate.
He'd slept outside the mall the night before, mostly because it had been doing that rainy/sleety/snowy type thing that made being under the stars very wet. And the mall had a nice outdoor area in the back that was covered for the employees to take their smoke breaks.
So when he had awoken very early in the morning to the sound of voices, he had first thought he was being kicked out of his sleeping spot by a mall cop. But the he realized that A) the voices were not cops and B) there were a lot of them.
There was a line to get into the main doors of the mall. And Ricio couldn't decided what feeling was more strong. The complete confusion as to why so many people would wake up so early to go...shopping. Or totally disgust for the world in which he lived that made this a regular occurrence every Black Friday.
He just couldn't help but comment.
"What are you doing?" he said, jumping up onto the edge of a flower bed as near to the entrance he dared to go. "Look at yourselves! Is this really the kind of people you want to be? So chained to material things that you're out here in this weather just to get a good deal on crap that can never fill the gaping holes in your soles?"
Yup...Ricio was in full out on-his-soapbox mode.
