SUE: Lost in the dark: You are my light (bishop twins)

Rain walked into her room, it was really scary with the power out throughout the town, and that it hadn’t just been the school… She has barely wanted to go out of her room, because her room was her safety hidey hole… She felt safe there, and not to mention she knew Ribbon was pretty scared too…

Mostly though she was quite bored, she didn’t know what to do with the power out. She turned to crocheting, but after awhile her hands started to hurt. It was night time, so she couldn’t read, it was to much of a hassle to… She also worked on some other art stuff, but a lot of it was still hard to do at night.

She flopped on her bed, giggling when Ribbon jumped onto her stomach. She took her phone off her nightstand. Going to her messages, she went into the group chat with John and Jake, (yes she group texted them, didn’t everyone?). She chewed on her lip, thinking of what to text them, should she text them? Should she wait for them to text her? Would they text her? Screw it, she’ll text first… But.. What should she say? Something like ‘hey’? Nah, that was too uninterested… what about ‘hi’? No that didn’t do either, that was too common.. ‘hello’? Maybe… that sounded to too uptight… She sighed, why couldn’t she think of anything good? What she really wanted to text them was that she was scared.. but she didn’t want to come off as whinny.. Or whimpy, or both really…

OH! She got it! The perfect text.

What trouble are you two up to with the poweroutage?

She giggled, she hoped that would be okay… it showed that she cared about what they did. And even though she wasn’t a trouble maker, she was still interested in what the boys did. She didn’t want to be one of those girls who wanted everything to be about herself…

John and Jake were, on the other hand, actually enjoying the power outage. Neither of the brothers really depended on electricity for anything. They didn't watch much TV or play many video games. And they'd never been scared of the dark, even as kids, because even in the dark they still had each other.

So far, they'd spent most of the evening hiding in dark corners and scaring their siblings. But at the moment they were out behind their house adding wood to a campfire. At first the plan had been just to make s'mores. But John had spied and old skateboard ramp in the corner of the yard and Jake had grabbed his bike. Things were just about to get interesting when both of their phones started buzzing.

The brother's flashed grins at each other before answering the text.

Not much just enjoying the night, you?

It hadn't occurred to either twin that the power outage might have upset Rain, they were both just happy to hear from her. And to picture her smiling face and gorgeous eyes thinking of them somewhere at Hammel.

It was obvious she was a bit worried.... She really wasn't sure what he was planning on doing... But she didn't want to come off as motherly, or too paranoid..

She didn't want to see either of the two in the hospital, though if they ended up in the hospital she would give them all the care.

She really hoped she had enough of her battery to at least last the night.

The twins couldn't help but smile at Rain's concern. Over the years they'd gotten a lot of that from their older siblings. Though admittedly, most of them had gotten used to John and Jake just being John and Jake and gave up worrying about the two.

With Jake pocketed his phone and got set on his bike. He made the jump no problem (it wasn't that tall of a campfire) and landing grinning.

This was one of those time when the twins wished they had better luck with getting their licences. They sighed collectively, wishing they could be with Rain. Everything was more fun with her around.

Rain chewed on the inside of her lip, and cheeks. “Man.. I really hope they don’t just see me as a little sister.” She looked at Ribbon, expecting him to reply, but he just twitched his nose. Sighing, she really wasn’t sure what she expecting from the twins… They had said they loved her one Christmas, but… What had that really meant?

John’s reply was not what she had wanted to see…

The twins definitely did not see Rain as a sister. They had more than their fair share of those and weren't looking to add another. In their minds sisters were annoyances, only good for sometimes fixing boo-boos or borrowing money.

Surely Rain knew that by now. After all, they brothers had been balancing on the top of monkey bars when they'd first met her.

Thanks! I'll sent ya one John flexed his arms, trying to look cool and tough as Jake raised his phone to snap a picture and couldn't help but laugh at his twin. As soon as he hit the send button, however, his phone shut off. Guess that's what happens when you forget to charge your phone before a power outage.

John managed to get those texted out before his own phone's screen turned black. He looked to his twin and they both sighed. Hopefully the power would come back soon. It really sucked not to be able to talk to Rain whenever they wanted.
