After Percie had sent Oriel on his way Percie had almost immediately called up Derek. Her nerves were a bit shot and she needed physical comfort. To that end her thumb fumbled for his contact before finding it and pressing the button. As Derek picked up in his usual manner Percie couldn't help the breathy way her voice came over the phone. "I'd like to meet for....drinks...," she explained. "Are you free now or later tonight?" she asked, voice pitched just so in order to get what she wanted out of the older man.

It was the late afternoon and Derek was on his way back home from his office in Burlington. Therefore he was driving when the call from Percie came. Derek stared at the contact name for a moment before sighing and finally pushing the “answer” button on the screen. “What?” he asked in his usual manner. He listened to her request, hearing a tone of interest in her voice. He sighed. “I just got off work and am on my way home.” Really, why did he bother taking the call? Derek had told Percie only in the evenings. That was to avoid her calling while he was at work. While technically he wasn’t now, it was still inconvenient for her to be calling while he’d just become available.

Still…. “I can meet you in twenty minutes, in the same place as last time.” At the Rochester inn. That had become his favored drinking hole.

"Okay, twenty-minutes," she agreed as she disconnected the call and went to jump into a very quick shower.

Derek sighed as the phone disconnected on him before he'd even had a chance to offer a closing phrase. How rude. Didn't anyone say goodbye/see you soon anymore when they hung up? This generation...

He continued driving and when the turnoff came, he'd take it straight into the parking lot of the Rochester Inn.
