Time Warp: The Solar Flare

Coming to dinner wasn’t completely uncommon for Michael. He was still single; a bachelor life working out quite well for the older Blaise. And because of which, he still very much ate like he was single; instant meals and delivery food. It wasn’t a bad life by any means, but when his younger sister invited him over for a home cooked meal, he wouldn’t deny it.

Michael wasn’t late for the meal, but he was late for when he initially said he’d be there. Time management still managed to get the best of him, so when he knocked on the door, the boy put on his best smile, already asking for forgiveness over the fact.

But when it opened, there was nobody there. Or nobody seemingly there. His pale eyes immediately looked downward, finding the boy who opened the door. “Hey there, Link!” Michael’s smile took a more genuine turn as he crouched down and scooped the boy up into his arms. “How’ve you been?”

Six years old. Already. He couldn’t help but to smile at the fact.

Moments later, a set of little footsteps could be heard running down the halls, and the second dark haired child appeared from around the corner, grinning up at his uncle. Michael laughed lightly, shifting Link’s weight into one arm, using the other to pick up the younger boy. They were both growing rapidly, as kids usually did at this age. He couldn’t imagine being able to carry them both at the same time for much longer.

“Where’s your mothers?”
