Das right folks, I want to form a band for the Hammel Institute. Not orchestra crap, a real rock band with talents galore! Max, while technically an awful singer, can make himself pitch-perfect as a singer, and provided he has enough lozenges he can go all day!All i need is a drummer a lead guitarist and a bass guitarist. If you have existing characters you could simply add this to their talents

We've already discussed a bit of them hanging out, but Matt's also a guitarist… I think he'd be more than down to join a band, especially if the two of them hit it off.

I'm tossing Marcus into this, because he needs more guy friends. Marcus is a guitarist and pianist and is decent on backup vocals. He'd love to be involved in something like this.

Looks great. Which one of you would be lead and which one is bass. If we could get a drummer I think we are set. Two important questions though:
Name? We need a name for this band
Music? I imagined this group playing classic rock, but what do you think?

Hey, boys. Heard you guys are putting a band together. IF you can handle someone cute in this ocean of testosterone, give me a holler. I can play guitar (oh yeah, got my own Stratocaster--if you're nice you can touch it), bass, keyboards, flute, and some percussion. I can even do some violin, but its rusty.

As for music types, I love classic rock--who doesn't? But I do enjoy the 80's stuff a lot. Anything but the current stuff they pass off as music....

As for a name for the band? I always wanted to take my name from that classic movie Back to the Future....when Huey Lewis turns down Marty's band for the prom in modern day.

I like the idea of Too Darn Loud. Its funny and acronymizable to TDL.

Cam can take drums or bass if needed, but she wants a turn up front with the guitar at some point. Sue me, she's a musician at heart.

If we have 3 guitarists and a percussionist along with a singer, would you want bass rhythm lead as the guitar set up or have bass and two leads, which lets you pull off a song like Free Bird which I think uses two leads.
Really the only one he needs to see is Bonzo, but not for Black Dog (Page and Bonzo were out of sync during the first verse)

Marcus is totes fine with being a secondary/tertiary guitar, but his talents would be best used for keyboard/piano and backup vocals. He's surprisingly better at it than guitar, even tho he likes guitar best.

I think we can nimbly change up our arraingments depending upon songs and personal preference.


Bonzo was the best of his time but Copeland gave his trio the distinctive percussion that really made them the Police. Then again does muscle memory give you the creativity to make it work? I hope so!

Nope. No creativity. It just enables Luke to copy movement. But with practive he can make it his own and play with it a bit.

Never listened to the Police live much, so did Copeland improv along with the rest during concerts?

Not sure, but here's a bit of Copeland wiki entry I found intriguing...

Copeland is known for precise, energetic, and creative reggae-influenced drumming along with a Lebanese-influenced style.[20] His distinctive sound centers on a hard, high-pitched crack on a snare or rimshot, and subtle hi-hat work with understated flourishes.



Despite being left-handed, Copeland plays drums like a right-handed drummer, with the hi-hat on his left and ride cymbal and floor toms on his right. During his years with The Police, he became known for engaging only the hi-hat with bass drum to keep the beat on many Police tracks. Copeland is a master of the syncopated beat, and his distinct approach consolidates his position as an important drummer on the world stage, subsequently influencing generations of drummers.



Copeland is also noted for his strong emphasis on the groove as a complement to the song, rather than as its core component. He once drove this point home at a drum clinic: Copeland announced that he would show the audience something "that very few modern drummers can do," and proceeded to play a simple rock beat for two minutes.[21] Nonetheless, his playing often incorporates spectacular fills and subtle inflections which greatly augment the groove. Compared to most of his 1980s contemporaries, Copeland's snare sound was very bright and cutting. Another novelty was his use of splash cymbals.
