Matt Davis is coming to Hammel!

I’d like to make some casual friends of any sex. This will naturally be harder for different races and religions, and especially for different sexual orientations. However through his work with hammel I’d like for him to pull away from some of these prejudices, so I’d like to make some friends that may cause some issues, as well as those that he’d get along with at the start.

Matt’s a jock and a handsome young man. He’s also a teenage boy… Crushes are likely to happen often, and I would love if someone ended up crushing on him, or if he ended up crushing on someone else. This can be sort of pre-planned if I think a character is likely to be crushed on by him. As far as full romances though, I’d prefer if they evolved naturally instead of are just pinned on like a crush. Though of course they could evolve from a crush.

Matt appreciates older individuals and might attach himself to anyone who shows genuine care for him. He’s also in a brand new place, and rather vulnerable. He’s dealing with some self hate and a lot on his plate, so he’s in dire need of some mentoring.

As long as things are friendly OOCly, I’d love to make some enemies. They can be people from the races/orientations/religions he doesn’t agree with who have issues with his religion and prejudices, or just someone else who plays football with him who thinks they can do better.

Hello, Jon!

As promised, I'm here to request a thread between us. Like you, I only have the one character; mine is Doctor Sean Neville, the psychiatrist at Hammel. Basic information about him is that he's 57-years old, he's a telepath, he's been at Hammel for 24 years, he's very tall and built like a linebacker, and he self-identifies as a hippie.

We had discussed this vaguely, but Sean would want to talk to Matt because of his upbringing. Sean flags students with certain backgrounds, and the prejudices would be something that he would want to work on with Matt, subtly depending on how he would take to that. He would also want to make sure that he is adjusting and doing well, since Sean is proactive and charged with emotional and mental well-being of all the students.

Depending on how that goes, he could be a candidate for a mentor for Matt. Otherwise, I have suggestions for other characters.

I'm available to thread whenever you'd like, since I have a handle on my threads right now. I can be a bit of a slow poster over all, so I do ask that you bear with me.

Hey Jon! I'm Sydnee! c: And I'd love to throw my character Jade at you! She's in college, very passionate, and determined, loves to help people. I'm not sure how they'd meet because of her being in college, but it's worth a shot! She grew up in a religious family, not the same religion, but it was still pretty intense. And she really didn't like it. At all... She had her own beliefs and those weren't part of them. There's a long story there with her family back home in Texas that involves this and the death of her sister, and meeting Matt would probably cause her to revisit all of this (she doesn't like to). She would also make herself a mentor for him even if he doesn't want it. xD Because that's how she is. This could provide conflict for Matt as she can be kind of pushy.

It's nice to meet you, and that sounds awesome Sydnee! I have a feeling that Matt'll try and get away from the school as often as possible early on, so they might meet out of the school sometime. Or if her college happens to have football games, he'd surely try and make some of them. I don't think it'd be too hard to figure out somewhere and some reason for them to meet!

What up Jon! How about this:

So we've already talked a bit about Matt needing tutoring and Marnie filling that role. It could start off as just a thing to establish their acquaintanceship, but you mentioned wanting Matt to make friends who might ultimately cause him to question his prejudices. Marnie isn't exactly outspoken or liberal or anything of that nature, but at this point in time she's questioning her sexuality pretty seriously and I love to torture her so having her accidentally befriend a boy who thinks girls liking girls is Super Not Okay could be fun to play out. It might take a bit of effort to get them there, though - Marnie and Matt are both fairly friendly and agreeable but they don't have much in common.

Other than Marnie, my character Matt is most likely to encounter is Josie, since she works at Hammel as a janitor. I'm seeing some overlap and wondering what to do with it:

-Matt has several similarities to Josie's ex-fiance in ability, interest, and appearance. This could naturally bias her against him.
-However, Matt's self image is pretty similar to Josie's. She was a terrible student, hates her power and considers it (and herself) the reason her family broke up (father left because he hates metas).

That being said, Josie is a pretty private person, so it would have to be a long-term thing if we wanted them to realize that they had that in common.

Hey Jon -

I've got two ideas I'd like to throw at ya. First off my twins, John and Jake. They're a year older than Matt, but could use some more guy friends. Especially now that they're dating and asking every guy they know for advice. They love anything outdoors, especially stunts or building things for stunts.

Also if Matt ever needs a mentor type friends, my character Zeb is one of the Dorm Monitors. He has an open door policy with all students pretty much 24/7 and makes sure all new students know that in case they ever need anything.

Well that's what I got off the top of my head, but I have a whole gang here if you want to check it out and see if someone else strikes you.

I don't know how Matt would take to twins, but if they acted relatively normal I doubt he wouldn't push them away. I'd be more than happy to toss the twins and matt together to see what'll happen!

Also, I am certain that Matt will eventually need a councilor for the dorms, and may drop in some time. I didn't know we had a dorm advisor, so that's awesome to know. Thanks.

Clay could be a nice teacher and friend that Matt can come to for help in school and outside of school. He is a rather caring man that would go out of his way to help his students. He is pretty young for a teacher so he can relate to students pretty easily.

Okay, first...Hey there Jon! I'm Jonnay, the friendly Hammelhood zombie! So, I have 6 characters, but only 2 close to Matt's age that he could interact with. I'm terrible with plots, I just sort of get basic ideas and see where they go, hope that's okay.



Salem & Matt:

Well, honestly...I'm not sure how they'd meet really, but Matt is friends with one of Salem's Best friends...Kailin Bishop. He also knows one of Salem's other gal pals, Axelle along with one of Salem's roommates...Lucas. Also, Salem has been through a lot of turmoil recently and isn't exactly himself, but he's slowly getting....."better"? Two more items of note with Salem...he's gay...and not exactly keen on religion. He doesn't mind it, just don't try to shove it down his throat. Normally he's a super sweet guy, so if you wanna wait until he's all better and back to that, that's fine. 


Rune & Matt:

Rune is the type that likes to play video games, horse around and have fun. He can have a bit of an attitude from time to time, mostly he's just a sarcastic Brit with bright reddish/orange hair. Once again...as all my guys usually are...he's gay. He doesn't mind religion, but he doesn't like talking about it too much either. Matt knows Rune's half sister Axelle (even though he doesn't know her himself yet) and Rune is pretty new to Hammel. He's only been there a few months.

Cosima and Matt: I think they would really interesting, I didn't read all of his app, but you say that he's religious, Cos is Christian, yet has some opinions that could have others questioning her beliefs which could be interesting if they ever get into those sort of conversations. Other than that, they both seem to have the same upbeat attitude? They also both can play sports, and Cosima can play drums, and acoustic guitar.
