Hissssssss
Jane is pretty new to Hammel. She only recently manifested and she only recently arrived at the school, something that she isn't especially happy about; Jane's not especially comfortable with her meta-humanity but she's even less thrilled by the prospect of being told that her 'abilities' are things that she has to hide in order to be 'normal'. Jane's never been the 'normal' kid in her life, and especially at her age, someone claiming that she has to learn control and regulation... it feels too much like being told that she's one of the crowd. Chalk it up to not exactly getting the message of Hammel first time around.
Speaking of her manifestation... Jane has the charming trait of a reptilian physiology, something that she isn't very good at keeping a handle on due to her limited experience with her powers. This means that she's often going around over six and a half feet tall and wielding an enormous lizardlike tongue. Jane can also dislocate her jaw, which is her current favourite party trick.
Jane isn't the easiest person to make friends with. She's stubborn, she has a bit of a chip on her shoulder, and she has a very weird sense of humour, one that has only been augmented by her strange new bodily functions. Still, if you're willing to put up with her, then she's both loyal and friendly, as well as being thick skinned enough to not be particularly adversely affected by others growing frustrated. Animal lovers beware, however, as Jane has considerable appetite for small creatures, especially mice, in her diet. With all her quirks, it's not unreasonable that she might make enemies; she tends to laugh off insults and barbs, but Jane's patience isn't limitless, and she's strange enough herself that she can quickly wear on that of others (especially teachers, as she is a horrible student). Romance is a rather faint possibility, as Jane is preoccupied with the new school and new revelations about herself... and she's probably a bit too uncomfortable with herself to want to put herself into a position of emotional vulnerability.
