The BasicsName: Jiyong Kang
Nicknames: Jee, Yongie
Age: 16 (April 18th)
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Honey Fingers
Jiyong has the ability to produce different kinds of honey from his fingertips (clover honey, alfalfa honey, blueberry, firewood, etc.). It's somewhat difficult for him to currently choose what type of honey he secretes, but he's slowly gaining more control over it. And although he is getting better at controlling when and how much he produces in general, he still often finds himself with sticky fingers that ruin homework and make life in general more difficult. At the moment, he is able to produce roughly 1 ounce of honey every two hours, though that leaves him with side effects like chapped lips, dry skin (apart from his fingers), dehydration, and massive sugar cravings.

General Appearance:
Jiyong was given the short end of the stick on height - at 16, he's only 5'7", and likely won't be growing much taller than that. He's built rather thinly as well, apart from only a slight muscle tone due to light cardio on a regular basis. He does, however, have some faint stretch marks and a faded scar on his stomach from having his appendix removed a couple of years back.
As much as he tries to ignore it, he's aware that he has a rather baby-ish face. He figures it's good for getting likes for his numerous selfies, at least, but he uses filters to hide the mild acne that he has around his jawline and cheeks. It seems no matter how many face masks and beauty products he uses, he's just going to have to outgrow the phase in his life, and he sometimes resorts to wearing concealer to hide it. His hair, naturally black, has been dyed dark red for a good while, although he does change its color on occasion when he feels like it.
He dressed like your average teenage boy, preferring jeans and slightly fitted tanktops and t-shirts over anything too fancy or expensive or uncomfortable. He's found that it's hard to find American-styled clothing for teenage boys that fits his small frame, though, and prefers the clothes he brought over from Korea. Jiyong loves wearing caps and nice sneakers, and sometimes throws on a necklace or bracelet if he wants to try something new.
Personality:
Jiyong is the sort of person that prefers being around plants and animals rather than people. Not that he minds people, necessarily, but especially now being surrounded by a culture he's unfamiliar with, he's nervous about people judging his lack of experience with Americans and the English language. Before he moved to Hammel, he was a little more outgoing, and he may become more like that as he gets more comfortable with his surroundings, but for now, he's kind of a wallflower. When he does talk, it's typically haltingly and nervously, so he prefers to talk over text where he has more time to digest what's being said to him and time to reply.
He's also a pacifist by nature, and doesn't like anything involving guns or violence or blood. Even when it comes to the smallest insects and animals, he hates seeing them in pain, and would much rather use alternative methods over pesticides and herbicides that cause too much killing in his opinion. He doesn't like violent or scary movies, and much prefers cartoons and animated films.
Along with having a rather... sticky thumb, Jiyong also has a green thumb as well, and thinks there is no plant that he is unable to make flourish. He enjoys breeding beautiful roses and entering them into competitions, something his mother helped spark an interest in. He's also very passionate about beekeeping, and would love to have his own small farm someday where he could collect his own honey and produce organically.
He is, however, also very into social media, and browses through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on a very regular basis, both uploading his own images and texts and commenting on others'. This is especially useful for him to keep in touch with his friends back home.
Jiyong likes to be helpful, and when he's not too nervous, likes to volunteer when help is needed, such as in the classroom or, especially, in the Hammel gardens. He is, however, very easy to take advantage of for these reasons, and is also incredibly gullible, especially with foreign things he's unfamiliar with. Any Other Important People: His leopard gecko, PuffHistoryJiyong was born in the outskirts of the city of Mokpo, South Korea, in 1999. His parents, a farmer and fisherman respectively, were not the wealthiest of people, but they did alright living with their own parents and a few other family members on a medium-sized farm where they grew rice, barley, beans, and a variety of other goods. Living near the ocean, they also supplied a small amount of seafood to local people as well. Jiyong learned how to help out with various tasks from a young age, but was always particularly drawn to their small supply of bee boxes, and loved putting on the gear to collect honey from their honeycombs.
There was nothing really spectacular about his life. His sister was born into the family when he was four, but apart from that, his childhood wasn't any more interesting than learning how to plant produce and fish and collect honey. He went to school in the city like any other kid, and worked when he wasn't busy with that. He learned how to be thankful for what he had and not to take food for granted (which is why he will always clean a plateful of food, no matter how full he gets). He got decent grades, although he never was incredibly competitive because he always assumed he would just take on the family business.
The only really outstanding thing that happened during his early teenage years, apart from manifestation, was appendicitis. Fortunately it was caught early enough that there were no major complications, and he was able to have it removed without too much trouble (just a decent amount of pain).
His power manifested several months later, a short time before his fifteenth birthday. It happened while he was out planting seeds in the field - he noticed that the seeds began sticking to his fingertips without any explanation. Jiyong tried to ignore it and keep going about his business, but the longer he went, the worse it got, until honey was dripping from his fingers at an alarming rate. He was about to run to his parents and hope they could figure out what the problem was, but it stopped after a short while longer, and he warily washed his hands and kept working. It didn't happen again, but a few days later, the recruiters showed up and told his family what had happened. They were surprised, but not completely shocked - he had an aunt and cousin that were meta-humans, so it wasn't unheard of in their family.
They were sad, however, to send Jiyong away. After some debate, they decided going to the United States school would be best for him, as they had family not too far from the area. He attended the Korean meta-school for a couple of months while the paperwork and visas were worked out, and then with a decent grasp on English and nervous for what his future held, he moved on to Hammel. He bought a leopard gecko, Puff, to keep him company in his new place, and is slowly becoming more adjusted to the culture shock and gradually becoming more familiar with the English language. He misses his simple life, though, and tries to spend as much time in the Hammel gardens as he can so he can feel more at home.Roleplay ExamplehiloveyouWhat About You?Name: Apollo
