The Basics
Name: Dimitri Alexander Spade
Nicknames: none
Age: twenty-eight
Orientation: Bisexual
Desired Rank/Job: Head Researcher
Powers:
accelerated mental abilities: Dimitri processes an IQ that is off the charts, literally. His capacity for creativity, logic, problem-solving, learning, applying skills, and learning capabilities is beyond anything just “human”. While most people use just ten percent of their brain, Dimitri can use ninety percent at any given time. Because of this his mind is always moving, to the point that in order to sleep he needs to take sleeping pills. He also forgets to sleep, eat, and sometimes can be found passed out from exhaustion in his office because of his inability to turn his brain off. Also, if he is not simulated enough, or is frustrated with his work, he starts up with his bad habits, many of which are self-destructive and have resulted in plenty of scars. He also figures with the madness and his body getting even more irritated at the separation synching between mind and body, that it is entirely possible that he may get a duel personality.

The Details
Hair Color: Red.
Eye Color: Bluest blue.
Any Piercings? Nope.
Any Tattoos? Not-uh.
Any Scars? plenty little one littered all over his body, but not too many noticeable ones.
General Appearance:
Tall. He was always tall. He never knew what it was like to be looking up at someone. Sometimes it bothered him, but most of the time it was handy for reaching up and grabbing books from the highest shelves. His height always made him somewhat awkward, and he always carries himself with round shoulders. He didn't even know how he got so tall; all he knew was that one day he woke up and he was six-foot three-inches.
His eyes are the bluest of blues, always full of life as he's doing his work. Sometimes they twitch when his brain is lost in his thoughts and the outside world is nonexistent to him. His eyebrows are thick, and low, arching over his periwinkle eyes. They describe his emotions, sometimes letting one stand on its one in a quixotic expression, or let them both far further down on his head to make his eyes become harsh. When he laughs they dart up, and his eyes light up. Sometimes, these eyes sport redness or dark shades under them. His eyelashes, short but thick, outline his eyes, but sometimes they are pulled on as one of Dimitri's destructive habits. He doesn't always wear his glasses, but they are needed often when he has one of his “driven insane by his own genius” times, where his sleepless nights bother his contacts and thus, his eyes.
His infectious smile is crooked and slightly higher on one side then the other. Dimitri's lips are nicely formed, small, but large enough to make the perfect kisses. They the same color as his skin, except a bit pinker. His nose, once too large and awkward for his face, now nests in the center of his face, a perfect perch for his wide-rimmed glasses. It is still slightly too big, but it fits his personality and the rest of his physiognomy. His chin isn't completely square, as many men have, but instead it is an acute angle that slopes to his jaw line. His facial bone structure is very handsome, almost feminine. He keeps himself clean-shaven, as facial hair on his own face makes him cringe, though he doesn't mind it on other men.
Dimitri's hair is naturally curly and bright red. He runs his hands though it a lot, making it often very untidy and oily, even though he does wash it plenty. When he was young, he was made fun of because he would twist his corkscrew curls around his fingers. He does that still, but it seems more charming now.
When he laughs, truly laughs, not just a humor laugh, but when he finds something worth laughing about, the man uses his entire body for doing so. He throws his head back, pulling a hand through his thick hair, and his full form shakes dramatically.
Dimitri has a great sense of style. That is, to say, he is almost always in a suit. He likes looking snappy, and he likes having a variety of ties. Its not often that he'll go without wearing a jacket and button-up dress shirt, but will roll up his sleeves and remove his coat if he gets passionate about his work.
He stands comfortably, though he is anything but graceful. Often he will stumble and trip over his big feet, sometimes even forgetting to pick them up when his mind is turning.
And despite his handsome and well put-together appearance, Dimitri has plenty of proof that having a mind like his is no picnic. He regularly pulls out eyelashes, chews on his fingernails, picks at cuticles, and cut himself on silly things because his mind was gone and his body was doing his compulsive habits. He doesn't mean to hurt himself, and by no means does he go out of his way to feel pain, it just happens.
Personality:
Dimitri needs to always be fiddling with something. When he is stuck on a problem he'll click his snappy-top pens, tap them against anything, chew on his fingernails, crumple paper, tear up paper, twist his hair and other assorted fidgets. When he has nothing to do, Dimitri will build what he calls wockets. They are little gadgets, sometimes electrical, sometimes art, sometimes crafts, just things that he likes to build that have use. He is obsessed with his notes, and says that they are well-organized, but everyone knows better, but he doesn't just buy things he doesn't need. None of his pretty or fun trinkets are store-bought. You can find a page of his notes littered with nonsense and doodles and some bits that have absolutely nothing to do with what his note page is actually about. When reading his journals and looking at his doodles, someone could find a deeper part of Dimitri, beyond the just the static intelligence he processes, and sees something more wise and almost abstract.
He is ambitious and calculating, but also animated, impulsive and energetic. This makes it seem like sometimes he has two different personalities; while he can seem childlike and unpredictable, he can also be cold, driven and callous, mostly after an answer that hasn't become clear to him after lots of work or when he is going insane by his own intelligence. It's almost as if an affable, clownish Dimitri is concealing an ocean of wisdom, seriousness and even darkness.
Dimitri has a lot of patience, but it often runs thin when he hasn't slept, though he can easily be taken out of it with an intimate embrace from the person he loves. He's somewhat of a pacifist, adoring the very naked idea of life and how it works, so he doesn't like those who use their powers to hurt or kill people, and will powerfully voice his opinions on the matter, though always respectfully.
He's very considerate of others, and try to make people as comfortable as possible when he is conducting experiments for his research, none of which are painful. He's always careful of people and their limits, pushing them, but not too hard. Even with this kindness, he will get grouchy and harsh to people he doesn't care for, or people who don't respect him. He can be ruthless with his words when irritated or angered, but that doesn't come often.
He is a very reliable, but in a sense that he can also be extremely excitable and industrious. That is to say, if you ask for a simple task to be done, it is going to be anything but simply done. But he is diligent, so you can expect his projects to always get completed on time. He can be selfish and get rigid and serious when one of his researchers does something he doesn't care for.
When in a romantic relationship, he is very practical and sensible, but also humorous, reliable and loyal. He will never cheat or do anything underhanded to someone he loves, though he can be pretty reserved with his feelings, and will not act on them unless it is obvious that they will be reciprocated.

History

Nothing interesting ever happened to Dimitri until he was eleven. It was interesting that he had a twin sister with red hair like he did. It was interesting that they had that connection that made them know what the other was feeling.
When Dimitri was eleven, he started knowing things, seeing things in angles and understanding binary and reading far faster than most people ever could. He began building things and doing doodles on his homework that his teachers described as “Leonardo-like.” It was strange, and he began being able to do work for months in class within days. It was soon he was offered the ability to skip grades. He kept advancing until he was in freshman level, and a Hammel recruiter found him. He went off to Hammel and started learning about his capabilities. His mind started to thirst for knowledge, and could be found reading with stacks of books on either side of him. He never had to dog-ear pages because he could remember things so easily, but there was more to it than that; he could apply everything he knew in different and interesting ways.
Melissa would write letters to Dimitri begging him to tell the heads of Hammel that she had powers too. She wanted to be special. She wanted to be smart, too, but when he told them they declined his request, telling him that Hammel wasn't a place for kids without powers, that it was a special school. It bothered Dimitri that he couldn't bring someone so close to his heart to a place where he felt the most at home.
Later, when Dimitri graduated early, he began college. He was able to get his master's degree in two years. His twin sister soon moved to Vermont to join her brother as soon as she graduated from High School. They started going on double dates with people they would find around the town, and it was then that Dimitri was attracted to his sister's boyfriend. Scared of the negative light that sexual deviants were going to hell, Dimitri didn't tell her at first, until he made certain that his attraction was not a choice, but he really didn't discriminate in love when it came to gender.
He took up a job as a researcher as soon as it opened up on Hammel. It was only a few years later that he was given a promotion to the head of department of research, as his work was exceptional as always. He's still doing his job now, and still loves it desperately.
