SPECIAL ABILITY !
The Taekwondo lessons, the misfortunes, and her adoptive father had never trained for something such as this.
Inocencio has the physical and mental ability to create various energy manipulations. Generating differing forms of energy can tire a host quickly if they have not mastered their ability; gradually becoming weaker, their energy blasts becoming small to the point that there is no more for them to 'puff' out. Mia, as she is just starting out can create force fields, however, they would not safely conceal an object entirely; if the energy is generated in front of an object or individual, there will openings from both sides and behind the subject. As a starting learner the host can only generally create a shielding on one side and not around. If Mia masters her field generation, it would still cover very little; perhaps a small group of people since her fields can only reach to about six meters over all, and if it were any bigger; about twenty meters but only one side is protected as already said. Mentally, if anything were to pass through the field Mia can disintegrate it if she doesn't have enough energy to deflect an object away from herself and others. She can also do a 'sweep', like a gust of wind but a pulse of energy which becomes a visible, blue wave as Mia gathers up what energy she has left and pushing the energy out; creating a massive pulse.
Physically, she can expel various forms of energy; such as energy blasts and constructs as a distraction to foes. An energy blast would be Mia's best one yet, since it is simple to make and requires little energy although it goes a few meters before extinguishing it self; probably around eight to ten if not exact. Depending on the situation, they can come in different sizes, small or large, but the larger; the slower it will advance towards its target. Mia uses small zaps of energy to get objects and organics off of high places she can't reach because of her height, and it really helps in the long run if she accidentally threw something and it ended up on top of the wardrobe. She wouldn't have to get a rolling chair and be cautious about the dangers of falling off because of its instability; it would definitely save hospital trips.
PERSONALITY !
Mia is a two-face. Yes, probably the most important thing anyone should know 'bout her; which hopefully, no one ever will because of her possible intentions. She's completely oblivious to it, while others aren't. Whenever in the heat of a battle, Mia can be completely ruthless if she uses her powers right; showing no mercy to people who get in her way. She doesn't realize the intensity of it all and will only stop if someone tells her to, leaving her possibly dumbstruck if she had been too distracted in destroying someonething. She's friendly, but a the same time cautious of whatever information she's giving out to her fellow classmates; if anything, she doesn't want to be looked down upon on or criticize because of how horrible her life has been. If anything, Mia doesn't anyone mentioning her mother's name in any sort of way that will ruin the good Esperanza has done to her. A major flaw about Mia is that she's too trusting when a friend is made, and she feels so attached that she debates whether to tell secrets or not. Sometimes, Inocencio can be unpredictable, other times, it would most likely be a battle between herself to keep her from telling anything out of the norm.
She's not the best proteje in something such as Taekwondo, an art that she had learned from her adoptive father, but Mia is a great improviser on using various sort of materials she can find lying about; using it to her advantage as a weapon. Whether it be a broom, or a spatula, maybe even a plate; but anything that might come in handy for defense. She also has a sense of humor in her, and tries to make use of it whenever she's feeling down. Despite her independence as an individual, Mia is easily hurt by harsh words and will hide her emotions until concealed within a safety zone to let tears run freely. She knows she's not a pretty girl, but like everyone who's subjected to hurtful comments, no one can blame Mia for crying; everyone hurts once in a while.
APPEARANCE !
Her smooth complexion, and dark eyes were all inherited from her deceased mother. Mia's small for her age, hitting a 4' 7" on the height scale, with 94 lbs in weighing in contrast to her killer vocals that she rarely puts to use. She likes to put her hair up in various styles, whether it be braided or in a bun with chopsticks sticking out, being the most often the ponytail. And if she's lazy, just the usual wavy let down. Skirts are a rarity in Mia's style, that, or she just doesn't wear them at all. She's not comfortable with the wind going up her legs, and wearing something so short limits her elbow space of jumping and running around in her worn out converse shoes and sneakers. Dresses are different, as they're longer giving Mia the option to wear some sort of hosiery under them; leggings and Spanx and what not. It's a Filipino thing; most people in her culture doesn't like to expose themselves too much when it comes to style. It's just uncomfortable. Anyhow, Mia's most likely to wear something unusual, or indie something like vintage fashion.
HISTORY !
It was a nice municipality, San Pedro, Philippines that is. Of course, it was a great village, but Mia's father wasn't such a great parent. If her father wasn't satisfied with her mother's efforts of keeping the house looking lavish and tidy, a beating occurred, and sometimes for no reason at all. Mia would weep whenever she witnessed the physical abuse to the point that it alternated to her receiving the bruises in exchange for her mom's safety. She didn't just get a slap to the face or a gentle pat on the bum; her beating resulted in multiple bruises along her arms and legs being prodded and hit with a rolling pin that her father snatched from the kitchen. He found it amusing seeing his daughter cry; she had the face of his wife anyway, and everybody in the small village knew that Valencio hated his wife. Mia's mother couldn't come to her whenever the abuse arose since Esperanza would most likely be locked up in a closet by her husband as he didn't need any interruptions from his entertainment. Over all Mia didn't know how she managed to survive all of the abuse, but all that mattered was that her mom didn't take anymore bruising, sometimes.
It eventually came to the point that Esperanza had had enough of her husband's shenanigans and she and Mia moved to her mother's house in Manila, where they stayed for a while until Mia's mother earned enough money, combined with her friend's share from America to commute and go to the United States and live there. For Mia to further enhance her education, and forget about their misfortunes in the Philippines. Esperanza insisted for her mother to come, but the old woman refused and preferred to stay where she felt it was home.
It wasn't easy, but Mia and her mother eventually settled into a nice home in New York, NY. It was a small house, with a tree in the front lawn which carried a swing. Whenever Inocencio came home from school she'd go on it, then settle inside to do homework when her mother called her in, or babysitter if Esperanza was out working in her architecture and design job. Mia also startled taking Taekwondo lessons just for the heck of it; she needed some sort of hobby to keep her occupied after studies. The girl grew attached to her instructor, not only because he taught her techniques in the fighting, but treated her with care and patience since Mia lacked confidence in her earlier years. As time went on, Esperanza had a high position in her job now, and Mia was almost a black belt as she's earned it from tiring herself every Wednesday night. Also, Mr. Eiffel thought it would be a good defense mechanism against bullies since Mia was nearing her Junior year, and everybody knew how rough that was. But everything else, was perfect.
Almost. Mia decided to take singing lessons since her Taekwondo was nearing to an end, and upon that summer something traumatizing, yet peculiar happened one Wednesday morning as Mia was getting ready to go to her third lesson for singing. It had been June; the raining season and Mia was patiently waiting in the safety of her mother's van as Esperanza went to fetch money for groceries in the back across from their car. Then it happened, gunshots ringing out within the bank and into Inocencio's ears. Without thinking, the seventeen year old threw her self out of the van and entered through the sliding doors of the bank. She met gunpoint and a louder, ear splitting gun shot rang out. Mia swore she saw her reflection in the bullet, but then it seemed to pause in mid hair then fall clumsily in front of her feet. She wanted to look but dared not turn away as the masked hostage taker made a weird expression at her live state, and fired another shot. This time, Mia didn't deflect it, and a moment later; after all the screaming, shouting, and the sound of sirens blaring outside with police pouring into the bank Inocencio found herself crying at her mother's side with blood stained hands. There was blood everywhere, all over her shirt and pants; some of it smeared across her face as she cried out for her mother's name. But it was too late, and Esperanza was no more. Mia felt her mother's hand release it's hold from her own, and from that moment on, she had never felt so alone.
There wasn't much to go on from, Mia didn't speak unless spoken to and she lost friends who over all thought she had gone crazy. They couldn't possibly understand what she was going through; the mother that was there for her all along was now gone. Her grandmother would gladly take her back, but she had died along the way and her father didn't want her back. The government thought it would be best to put her in an orphanage until further notice; it was the best they could do instead of bringing Mia back to the Philippines where her father will probably abuse her. As she got settled in the orphanage Mia thought of becoming suicidal, there was nothing else for her in the world; and anyone that cared about her was gone. Two weeks passed for Mia at the orphanage, and there were times when she thought about running away instead. Yet Mia stayed for the people who did appreciate her presence, especially the next door church where the choir there welcomed her into their group. Music was one of the rare things that made Mia smile since her incident. She just, stopped talking over all. Her powers weren't helping either; Mia was lucky at all to have been brought to the orphanage and not in some lab, but whenever she got excited about certain things, mirrors would break all of a sudden, and objects would fall off of shelves. She tried to ignore her ability but the force kept coming back, bigger and bigger as it drew on. Until Mia was sure she would only get rid of something so bothersome as to practice her powers and use it to her advantage. She started talking again, strange for the headmistress since the girl rarely opened her mouth; but the old woman didn't need to know about Mia's intentions. Mia was just happy, for some odd reason. Whenever the orphanage employees weren't around to witness her, Mia practiced; usually where there were no breakables, which was out in the woods. She started out shielding a small twig, before a recruiter from an academy named Hammel Institute stepped into the warmth of the orphanage. At first, Mia had declined and hesitated, but the more she thought about her options and the fact that the recruiter and her had a private conversation about them, she didn't want to end up being some lab experiment. Mia was forced to go, the only other option left wasn't her style. The school have given her great control over her ability, she enhanced her power, and it obeyed her more often until Mia was able to shield an entire tree, perhaps even a couple. It made her bottled up emotions rise, and something blue and flashy shot of her hands just burning the trunk of a tree a few feet away from her. She had been practicing outside, and Mia's simple disappeared for a moment, before an even bigger one crept onto her face and she went to check on her handy work.
Benjamin J. Effiel, her Taekwondo instructor that she had grown so close to is currently her guardian. The once Taekwondo instructor couldn't bare to see the child having no family, so he decided to help her until a legal adoption is passed up, then he can properly adopt the girl. Benjamin didn't have a proteje of his own, and he thought of Mia as a daughter so she was an acceptable successor. He found out, during his earlier years as Mia's teacher that ice cream seemed to be the only thing that made the girl truly happy whenever she was down; along with some Whitney Houston soundtracks.

There was a breeze that came in sync with Mia's laughter as she stepped out of a yellow taxi, clutching her aviator hat to be mindful of the wind that blew her way. Whitley, MA wasn't what she had expected it to be looking a lot better in person than a black and white picture pasted on a folded pamphlet. What was she thinking? Obviously! Mia breathed in the fall scent, exhaling with relief knowing she had finally reached her destination. Her lips curved into a delightful smile and she faced the taxi driver, offering the man money and a nice tip she had pulled out from her wallet earlier. Mia made sure to grab her belongings giving the cab a quick sweep to make sure she wouldn't be forgetting anything important before closing the car door and giving the old man a big wave as the taxi drove off into the morning sun.
With light streaked locks swishing in the breeze, Mia faced her new temporary home with an even bigger smile and took her first steps onto the pathway that lead to the courtyard after passing unlit lamps; her suitcase handle in hand. Mia found herself staring, not in a bad way. She watched as students in groups of all sizes and differing styles walked about the courtyard chattering among themselves. There was the typical nerd scribbling down notes, the girly cheerleader and the usual jocks hanging around a gorgeous marble fountain that sat at the center of the courtyard. Mia strolled over, taking a seat on a dry edge that allowed her to drop her things as a quick rest settled in. Just a quick rest, that was all. Mia felt that she needed it after the many buses and trains she had to catch until she finally found a phone booth to call the local taxi company. The view was quite nice, bright and simple, with trees starting to turn into their orange colors as Mia saw in the far distance. It was nice, while it lasted.
Out of nowhere, a sudden scrapping sound startled Mia out of her sight seeing in time to meet face to face with a skateboarder charging her way. She gasped in response, trying to gather her belongings but as instinct tended to interfere she felt herself stand up, and fall back down as the other student leaped over her just as she fell and landed beside her luggage continuing his skating. A splash seemed to fill Mia's mind, and when she opened her eyes she was drenched in fountain water; sitting inside the circular structure. She coughed, taking no notice of the skater and his friends laughing at her silliness as Mia tried to pull herself back up, only to fall back down and make even a bigger splash that had her yelping when cold water greeted her face.
