So that was it? A meta? whatever that was. Great, just great! Trapper thought to herself as she listened to the man speak to her mother and the doctor intently before he left them alone.

Her mother looked relived, while the doctor seemed irritated as he wrote something on his pad before standing and facing her mother telling her his doubts about this meta thing but Doctor Campbell had the right credentials and the paper work so with her mother permission he would allow the girl to be released after the 48 hour hold expired.

Trapper had about 12 more hours to go, and by the sounds of it she was going to the institute right at discharge. She asked a huge favor of her mother to pack her footlocker for the trip, she gave her a list of things she thought she might need and of course clothes, shoes and her winter jacket. So there she was alone, where what Dr.Campbell was telling them about was starting to sink in and moving away from her family, friends and schooling . . . she let out a good cry until she fell asleep.

The next morning she was greeted by her doctor and Doctor Campbell who was ready to take her to Hammel. With the discharge papers done she was allowed to spend some time with her mother before she went with Doctor Campbell to the airport for the plane trip to Vermont which was uneventful as she slept most of the time.

Trapper did ask afew questions about the institute that Doctor Campbell would satisfy her curiosity, then she was silent the rest of the ride to the school.

Once at Hammel she would follow Doctor Campbell in her office where she would take a chair and wait while he got her papers together.

"Doctor Campbell are you a meta person?" Trapper asked as she looked at him while he worked behind his desk.

James looked up from his paperwork and considered the blonde girl carefully. She had only been at the school for an hour or so now, but that time shouldn't have been that discombobulating. "Yes, Trapper, I am. I told you and you mom about what I can do at the hospital, remember? Super-enhanced perception; I just see things a bit differently than other people, and it makes solving problems a bit easier for me." That was a severely boiled-down version of it, but if she didn't remember him telling her this already, he really didn't want to overwhelm her with any more information than necessary.

"Most everyone you're going to meet here are. Your trainer definitely will be. I can't tell you who it's going to be yet--that isn't my decision, and they only listen to my recommendations sometimes--but I can assure you, he or she will know how to help you. The trainers here are all very good at what they do." He gave a fond glance to the photo on his desk; the one Chase insisted he'd had nothing to do with getting there. It was a simple wooden frame, with a picture of him, Chase, Ginny, and Nikki from the fall, around Niko's birthday. His family was unusual, but the fact that they were mostly meta barely factored into it. "My husband is a trainer, but all of them are exceptionally talented." Even Adam. "Do you have any more questions for me?"

Trapper did forget as she thought to herself 'I'm blonde, sue me' her weight shifted in the chair as she was abit uneasy, after all it was the first time she'd been away from her family like this. Questions about this new 'ability' power mingled inside her head causing the start of a headache that she rubbed in a vain attempt to rid herself of it.

Drained, exhausted were understatements she shook her head and Trapper let out a loud sigh as she carefully watched him as his gaze went to a picture, she leaned in to view it as Dr.Campbell continued to speak.

"Do you have any more questions for me?" Dr.Campbell asked her with a polite voice.

'A question? yes' "Husband? Don't you mean wife, Sir?" she eyed him questionably not knowing of his relationship with another man. Not that it would matter to Trapper as she was just curious, that was all.

James shook his head slightly and smiled a little, though this particular smile was a bit worn at this point. As a recruiter, he appreciated the need for discretion, and so while many families of his recruits knew he was a father himself (and that his young son was a Hammel student, he didn't always tell them about his spouse.

But if they asked about trainers and training, he always did.

"No, I don't, Trapper. I'm married to Mr. Kilbourne. He's one of the trainers here." He reached over and turned the picture more towards the girl so she could see it better. (And yes, Chase didn't like the students calling him Mr. Kilbourne, he preferred them to call him by his first name.) "That's him, and our kids, Ginny and Niko." It wasn't the first time a student had asked about his family, and he knew it wouldn't be the last, either.

Curiosity clearly caught her, her brown ever so slightly arched as she stood up and took a step towards the desk as she placed a hand on the picture but didn't dare to lift it from the desk where it was perched. After a moment of looking at the picture she turned her attention to the office, it was fairly larger then she would consider an office and tastefully decorated and well organized.

"No, I don't, Trapper. I'm married to Mr. Kilbourne. He's one of the trainers here." He added "That's him, and our kids, Ginny and Niko."

She turned back to the picture and smiled “Your kids are cute” she took a breath and continued “Trainer? What kind? Like a sports one?”

There was a sudden loud thud at the window. Trapper looked at Dr.Campbell with concern in her eyes.
