Lani dropped to the ground his brow wet with perspiration. Who would have thought that working through the mind could make a person feel like they had run three miles. He panted and fell back so he was laying flat on his back. He closed his eyes against the pounding headache that was starting just behind his eyes. This was the worst part, these never ending headaches, eternal pain. Not to mention he was covered with bruises. He had been doing exactly what his trainer told him not to do. Flight. He succeeded for seconds at a time but the object was always to hard to control while he was trying to keep his balance. But at this point the only things he could use to try were things he had to stand on. Just a few flat pieces of metal that used to be benches, a weight, a binder.
He groaned and pushed himself back into a sitting position, break was over. He hauled himself to his feet and braced himself as a rush of light headedness hit him. That was odd. He shook his head and willed it to clear. He lifted the metal and balanced it carefully focusing completely on it. He hesitated not wanting to be tossed on his rump again. He took a deep breath and impulsively jumped on. It worked better this time. It didn't fly out from under him, nor did it shoot out this time. He hovered there and he allowed himself a small victory smile. He moved slowly forward keeping this simple and careful. So far so good. He balanced like he would on a wall and planted his feet, lightly but firmly. He then tried to lift up. This was when things always went haywire. He wobbled but held it for a moment. Then his power went insane.
It wobbled and tossed as he tried to lift it but couldn't balance lifting his weight along with the board as one mass. He hated falling, he didn't think he had fallen so much in his entire life. But he would learn. "Woah!" He flapped his arms and it stopped for a while. He stopped and regained his baring. But only for a moment Lani's crazy impulsive mind was the worst thing for his power. It fed off his impulses and often times his imagination was brought into creation before he could think it through or analyses it. It pitched forward than back. He couldn't help yelping and letting out a small scream as it tossed him back to the floor. He slammed hard into it, his head snapped back and pain exploded in the back of his head. He rubbed it and shouted out every swear word he could think of and launched the thing at the door.
