And when he looked down upon all that he had wrought, he fell to his knees and wept. The smoke from the city in flames billowed around him as the tears rolled down his face. This is what he had done, this was his destiny. Chaos. Darkness. Destruction. With a shout of anguish, he allowed the darkness to envelop him, and his cries slowly turned to laughter...

He wrapped his gauntleted hand around her arm, squeezing it tightly as he lifted her up to height with his head. Blood began to run down from where he was squeezing, the blonde biting her lip as she looked at the skull that was the figure’s head. Her book fell to the ground as the red lights that passed for the creature’s eyes fixated on her face. “No one here to protect you now, little fallen angel. No one here to save the day, no one here to help you escape this time.” His voice was dark, echoing through her air even though his mouth didn’t open. She flinched as he punched her in the stomach, throwing her to the ground next to him. He reached down, picking up a knife off the ground, looking over it for a moment. “We’ll take this slowly….”

The Shadow Came

The shadow came to her
to take her far away.
It was larger than any man,
and its long wings did sway.

The shadow came to her
when she was just a girl.
With promises of flying her away,
and love and seeing the world.

The shadow came to her
and took her to the sky.
It brought her higher than most could dream,
and she felt no fear, no urge to cry.

The Shadow came to her
because it saw her tears.
It saw her in the darkness,
so it picked her up to wash away her fears.

The Shadow came to her
and she smiled and ran to it quickly.
She hugged the shadow tight,
and he smiled and returned it, happily.

Silence

The darkest times across the land
It is not the time to cringe in fear
No time to hide behind the veil of hatred.

The World will not end in a bang
So you will see it coming
So you can do things you meant to do
Say things you meant to say

No the world will end without a sound
So tell me this

What will you say about your life when it all ends
Will you go with regrets
Of things not done and things not said
Will you go at peace because you've lived a life fulfilled

What will you be thinking
When the silence begins.

Demon's Eyes

If you look into my eyes,
what is it that you'd see?

Would you see the darkness?
Would you see the light?
The rolling hills of heaven?
The fiery pits of hell?

Why won't you look me in the eye,
are you afraid of what you'll see?

Will you see straight through my soul?
Is it the purest sort of white?
Is it the darkest form of black?
Or am I somewhere in the gray?

Are my eyes so horrifying,
that you'd rather look away?

What did I ever do?
Did I strip you of your soul?
Did I rob you of your life?
Was it I that stole your love?

No, you've already decided what you'd see,
decided you'd see into the darkness.

But how do you truly know?
Have you ever looked?
Have you ever tried?
To look into, this Demon's Eyes?

Something I wrote for my D&D meeting tonight. I'm interrogating a Dwarf we found

"You see, I have a little problem with what you said before. Even in pitch black, you'd have to have worse aim than a 3 day old Kobold with those axes of yours to have almost hit us if you were aiming at the demons. And, you see, a couple of my fri... compa... acquaintances were infected by those things. I was almost infected by those things. So, if you don't tell us what you were really doing and answer ANY question asked by ANYONE in this group, I'm going to assume you're behind this and I'm going to start getting information out of you. I'll start by ripping out your beard. If I'm not strong enough, I'll just have to settle for setting it on fire. Once we done with your little shave, I'll get my knife and move onto your fingers. Or maybe I'll make you neither a Dwarf or a Male. So it's your choice. Start. Talking.

And if there is the SLIGHTEST hint from ANYONE that you're lying... well, I'm a warlock. I have a demonic pact to fulfill."
