"Maybe I do." Cole said in response to her talking about her name as he followed her outside before speaking again, "About that song, write me something. It'd be nice to sing something different. I've been having writer's block lately." Cole said with a smile He hadn't been able to write since everything with Taeyeon. Mainly since the break-up, he'd been doing covers of popular, mainstream songs.
As they made it outside, Cole felt her touch on his forearm and saw her head nod. He turned around to see the man who he'd told in guy code to shove off earlier in the night. "Cool it, Henry, I ain't doin' this with you tonight. This happens everytime you get drunk. So knock it off and take a cab home."
The man said nothing in reply. He stood silent about forty paces from Cole and Jalen. "HENRY! COOL IT DOWN NOW!"
"Oh it's not him that's in control, Cole." A female voice spoke from behind them.
Cole knew who it was before he said anything. He wanted to let her reveal it herself, but he knew it would take way too damn long, "I know that voice and I hate that voice. It's been a long time, Lerna."
An audible growl could be heard escaping Henry's breath as the woman stepped forward and revealed her face, "Indeed it has, my love."
An angry shiver tweaked his neck and shot down his spine, "Don't. Call. Me. That." Cole said angrily. He knew she would do it. She knew it would push every right button to piss him off. He couldn't stand her, period. It was because of her he'd cut ties with a few of his best friends, close family members and the like.
"Don't you get snippy with me, Cole Alan Kessler. It's because of you I'm here, in this god forsaken pit on a ridge. You left me in Oklahoma and thought I wouldn't find you? You didn't say good-bye, you didn't ask me to come along, you didn't even come lay with me one last time before you left." She yelled across to him.
"What is it with you and calling everywhere you go a god forsaken pit?" He took a moment to spit out the taste in his mouth, it almost always turned sour when she was around him, "And there's a few reasons I didn't do any of that on your list. One, you're an obnoxious bitch. Two, you dumped me, remember? And three, I really just didn't want anything to do with you after that."
Lerna chuckled as Cole spoke to her. Then she noted the girl behind him, "So, this is what you've moved on to, Kess? You honestly think she's better than me? She's hardly an upgrade look-wise."
Cole's head dropped, "Why do you always have to ruin shit for me? First my life and now my nickname? You know that was only for the guys to use." Cole was hoping she would agree, then she spoke about Jalen, "If you only knew, Lerna..... First off, she's way more attractive than you'll ever be. And two, she's a helluva better listener."
Lerna chuckled again, "Is that so?" She looked at Jalen, speaking directly to her, "How about it, tramp? You the one who is gettin' it from him now? You're no better than the hoes we have back home. I don't see why he come up here to be with some skank."
