Drive By Tapping {Haley}

Haley wasn't actually good at fighting fair. Before her powers manifested, a lot of her combative skills came from her being tiny; knowing when and where to dodge punches and, depending on the gender, know where it hurts the most.

Now that she had her powers, it was pretty much just: "Punch anywhere and hope it doesn't kill them."

So the arm grab was not something she was prepared for but she still had time to smirk when the older teen complimented her. "You're not so bad yourself, midget." Haley rolled her eyes. Recycling insults wasn't exactly her style but the fight was taking too much of her attention.

A few of the jabs the redhead threw didn't make contact but some did and though the pain was dull, it was still going to hurt like a bitch once it reached through her natural defences so Haley had to be more alert if she didn't want to end up in the infirmary.

It was a good thing they were doing this when everyone was still in class. She had all the time in the world and none of the teachers were gonna come and interrupt them.

They had time.

"Hey douchebag, think fast." Haley quickly ground her foot on the older teen's, transferring all her energy down, just the way that security personnel had taught her earlier in the year. Would it prove effective?

Nice to know that Max's opponent wasn't exactly a strategist either. This was likely to turn into a downright, dirty brawl within a few minutes, actually. That was assuming that it didn't get interrupted. People were bound to start gathering and staring pretty soon. Max was figuring on public support siding with the little girl, since, you know, little girls were cute and all. Didn't mean she wasn't going to keep swinging.

Like she was now, for example.

The swings were wild and unaimed, because Max wasn't really thinking strategy. Which was probably why she didn't stop to think "gee, the shorter opponent is probably going to aim down." Maybe if she did, she would have seen the foot stomp coming. Max probably would have been able to dodge something like that. Except, you know, not paying attention.

"Sonuva crap!" she yelped. The blow hurt, and Max had a sneaking suspicion that she was going to have her bones mended. Feet did not hold up well under pressure, especially in that part. Plus, the pain that blossomed was nearly enough to make Max see red. Thankfully, she could slap onto Haley's skin: didn't matter where, Max was just looking for contact. When she got it, the sensation would flood out of her and into Haley.

See how Mighty Mouse liked feeling like her foot just got broke.

A smug grin filled Haley's face before it dropped the moment the older teen pressed her hand on to Haley's skin. "What. The." She squeaked when she felt the pain. Her endurance apparently had a limit. So the redhead's powers had something to do with amplifying pain. Or inflicting pain. Whatever. Haley did not like it.

The smaller girl tackled the other one down, rolling on the ground for a few seconds before pinning the girl's hands down. "You're dead!" Haley kneed the other girl's thigh, digging in a little. "That's what you get for...whatever you did earlier."

A crowd was gathering, as was expected and Haley's foot was starting to cramp up. "Say you're sorry, I'll let your face stay the way it is, ugly."

Being pinned sucked. It did seem like Mighty Mouse was starting to feel it, and it also seemed like Mighty Mouse wasn't exactly a big fan of feeling it either, which made Max grin. Oh, the older girl was in pain. Lots and lots and lots of pain. Pain just made you feel alive though.

The digging hurt enough to make Max suck in a breath through her teeth, nearly wincing.

More threats, which just made Max laugh. "Girl, you sure as heck ain't the first one to threaten my face. Gotta admit though, you're a lot tougher than I expected. We'll have to do this again sometime. You know, after I carry your unconscious body to the infirmary.

She squirmed, before bringing her head up sharply, trying to score a hit on the girl. Another connection and Max could transfer more pain. Heck, she was already removing a shoe and trying to catch the girl with a sideways kick.

The pain was starting to really get to her and Haley knew if the girl knew what she was doing, her threat of the infirmary would actually be followed through. That could be a problem. Haley had been to plenty of hospitals to be sure but it was never for anything more serious than say a cut or some bruises.

Who knew what kind of pain she could be in now?

But she wouldn't go down easy. She refused to. So before the other girl could lay another hand on her, Haley grabbed it and twisted it just slightly and jumped up into a standing position. With one final kick to her shin, Haley ran off. "Not if I send you there first jerk face!"

[Max Rose]

The twist made Max hiss. Some wounds you got used to over time: cuts, for example, scrapes, but there was something about getting hurt in the skeleton that stuck with you. Or at least, it stuck with Max. That girl twisted, and Max could almost feel things snapping out of place. Still, to her credit, she didn't cry out; she was just too used to pain to do that.

The girl rolled off, kicked Max in the shin (which would have been comical had it not been so hard), and scurried away. Max scrambled to her feet as best she could, but her hand wouldn't work right and her shin didn't want to support much of her weight either. The scramble ended up with Max nearly buckling, and she certainly couldn't keep up. Unfortunately, several people darted forward to help her, and Max ended up transferring all the painful sensations to the first person who got within arm's reach.

Still, Max ended up panting, staring after Haley as the younger girl retreated. The older girl smiled, wincing slightly as new pains started to course through her battered body. Yeah, this was gonna be rough, but Max was so gonna be on the lookout for the little brat.

She'd be ready next time, too.
