A, B, or C?

There were a bunch of reasons, and none of them had to do with his roommates, but Levi really didn't like his new dorm. He didn't exactly talk to Aki or Adrianna much, but he didn't have anything against them. They were better than Mia....but then again just about anyone was a better roommate than Mia.

The problem was that they weren't Evan.

The older boy actually spent so much time in Levi's room, he might as well have been one of their roommates, but when they'd approached the Ms. Wilson about it, she'd said she wasn't able to transfer Evan there. Not when Levi's dad had made it very clear what they thought about the school allowing them to be roommates in the first place, when they were dating.

But Evan couldn't be there all the time, and he'd relocated to his own room to get some studying done. (He said it had nothing to do with Levi, except that he'd get nothing done if he stayed.) So the freshman was just moping around the dorm. He'd picked up a few books of Captain America comics the last time he'd gone to the library, so he decided to curl up on the couch with them and a bag of pretzels. He could deal with hanging out by himself for one night.

Adrianna hadn't gotten to know either of her roommates. She knew their names and what year they were, but nothing about them personally. The only time she had even talked to them was when she asked if she could throw a party. That was just about it. Aki was usually out of the dorm and Levi was usually with this other guy, so she was usually in her room or the common area reading her magazine.

Well this was one of those days.

As she walked down the hall, focused more on her quiz than on where she was going, she mumbled to herself. "Favorite color? Blue, it's closest to purple." She said quietly as she headed to the kitchen for a drink. She opened the small fridge and pulled out a Coke can. Adrian was oblivious that someone was just a few feet away from her, within hearing distance of her mumbling. "You are on your first date, how do you meet up? Oo horse drawn carriage doesn't sound bad, but I'm more of a Romeo and Juliet type, so definitely having him help me sneak out."

Adrianna just so happened to look up when she heard crinkling of a bag and her face instantly turned red when she saw one of her roommates sitting on the couch. "Uh, hi Levi." She said in a nervous and totally embarrassed tone. Well this is awkward.

Levi looked up when he heard someone coming, but he didn't move. As previously stated, he didn't really have a problem with his roommates; he just didn't hang out with them. So there was no reason to hide from Adrianna, even though she was apparently talking to herself and was a vampire. Or to the magazine she was holding.

He caught the tail end of what she was mumbling about, and grinned when she finally noticed that he was there. "Hey, Adrianna. Want a pretzel?" Levi held up the bag, offering them to his roommate. It was obvious that she was embarrassed about something--he assumed the talking to herself--and he figured he might as well be friendly.

And the freshman wasn't scared of vampires. Maybe a little of Mr. Underwood, but Sam had significantly lessened any fear he might have once had. Adrianna wasn't threatening anyway. She'd even been really polite about asking if she could have a party in their dorm. (He probably would have gone, but Evan didn't want to, so it was one of the rare times they hung out in Evan's room instead.) "If it's a first date, don't you want to meet him on, like, neutral ground? A carriage is a bit much, and why risk getting in trouble if you don't even know he's going to be a good date?"

So maybe Levi wasn't exactly the target audience for whatever Adrian was reading. He was the boyfriend of someone, and had an opinion.

((OOC: The dorms don't have kitchens, though it makes sense for them to have a mini-fridge.))

Adrianna smiled and shrugged, "Sure." She walked over and took one. Then she sat on the arm of the couch and closed her magazine. It was a stupid quiz that usually people skipped past to get to the articles. Unless it was Adrianna. She was obsessed with the little quizzes that were put into Seventeen Magazine because, well she was a teenage girl.

"So uh, what are you reading?" She asked glancing at the comic in his hand. Ash was the comics freak, she had no clue what any of them were. If she'd pay attention to anything Ash talked about then she would have caught on right away just by the cover of the comic, but she tuned all the nerdy stuff he said out.

Adrianna had luckily finished her quiz and her results were satisfying. A passionate guy that lusted for her...can't argue with that. Of course, that wasn't her true type. She didn't want just a sex-obsessed perv, she wanted a sweet guy that liked her for her personality. But she doubted there were any guys who weren't sex-obsessed pervs at least on the inside. She knew several.

Levi shrugged as he sat up a bit, then held up his book. "Captain America. I started getting into it after the movie this summer." Really, the boy liked this particular hero because he identified with him. At 5'2", Levi was significantly shorter than most other guys his age, and a lot of the girls too. He felt scrawny, particularly compared to Evan, and he liked that Steve Rogers overcame the same thing. So what if Van was Spider-Man and actually had the traits of being a superhero? Levi would get there eventually.

"What was your result?" He put down the bag and gestured towards the magazine. It looked like one of those goofy teenage magazines his sister used to read when she was younger. He'd never had an interest in them before now, but the boy suddenly realized that it might be helpful. After all, it was geared towards girls who wanted to attract teenage guys, and he himself was dating a teenage guy. Despite how much Evan would scoff--he would have to scoff--the thing might actually have some useful advice. "Does it tell you how to find your soulmate or something?"

Adrianna smiled slightly, "I've heard of that one. Doesn't the movie have that totally gorgeous actor Chris Evans?" She asked and started fanning herself as if it had suddenly gotten extremely warm in the small room. She giggled and chewed on her lip. Total fan girl moment, typical for the teenage drama/romance junkie.

"My results?" Adri asked, then looked down at her magazine and blushed. "Oh yeah..." She smirked before she started reading. "Passion fuels your relationship with this guy - you are both adventurous and you love things to happen unexpectedly. His kiss is powerful and filled with fire and lust. It demands what he wants and makes the world fall away. His love is like the sun, burning hotter and hotter until you melt into his arms."

Adrianna giggled like crazy and blushed slightly. It was embarrassing, but it was still cute. "It doesn't help find your soulmate, it tells you what your perfect guy is like. Which, okay, I think mine is wrong because I'm not exactly looking for a guy who's love is like the sun or anything. I just want one of those closet romantic types, ya know?" She said hopefully. She didn't want him to think she was crazy for dreaming. It was after all her dream guy.

"Uh, yeah, I think so." Yes, Levi had seen the movie, and he did suppose that the lead was pretty hot. Not exactly his type--though he didn't think he actually had a type. He just liked certain people--but there was a certain All-American handsomeness around him.

All the more reason Levi was never going to actually be like Captain America.

The description of the guy Adrianna apparently was supposed to be with made him laugh. The over-the-top way the magazine described the hypothetical him made him seem like the hero in a romance novel. "Yeah, that comes across kinda silly. I don't think anyone's like that in real life."

The freshman looked down at his comics, then closed the book and put it down on the couch. Just because Evan wasn't able to hang out tonight didn't mean Levi had to be a hermit. "Closet romantic types?" Levi smiled softly, because he knew someone exactly like that. "Like the kind of guy who takes you on a date where he builds a bonfire, you roast marshmellows, and then you catch fireflies?" That was the sweetest date he could think of, and it just so happened to be the one that Evan had taken him on a few weeks earlier, when he'd realized that they'd never been on a proper date. "What kind of questions does it ask?"

Adrianna smiled, "Sorry I'm a fangirl type. Chris Evans makes me want to faint." She laughed at how ridiculous it all was, but that was just who she was. It happened.

The results sounded completely exaggerated and fake. There was no guy like that out there. She'd been with plenty of guys who wanted her, but not as over the top as that. It was just way too much. She agreed with Levi completely, "I know right. These magazines are very unrealistic and yet, I can't help but read them and take the quizzes." She sounded totally pitiful to herself, she only imagined what it sounded like to him.

Adrian smiled and nodded, "Yeah, it's a weakness. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you know someone who actually did that for you?" She could tell he was taken and definitely into the guy. It was cute to say the least. "Kind of questions? Er, would you like to take it?" She asked with a hopeful smile.

She scooted closer and held the magazine open between them. What's your PERFECT man? That was the title of the quiz. "Okay first question. It's totally stupid and pointless but what's your favorite color. Blue, green, black, brown, purple, pink or none of the above?" She asked as she looked up at him.

Okay, so maybe Levi blushed a little when Adrianna asked if he'd actually met someone who'd set up the date he'd described. "Well...yeah. I have. It's my boyfriend, Evan Brackett." He didn't know if she knew him from classes--Levi didn't even know what grade she was in; he should probably get to know his roommates a little bit better--so he kept talking. "He's, uh, the guy who's over here a lot. The tall, thin one with the hair?" He mimed his boyfriend's perpetual cowlick and grinned. The only other guy who ever hung out with him at the dorm was Sam, but he wasn't around nearly as much.

"Sure, I'll take it." He sat up a bit more and wrapped his arms around his knees. Levi hadn't really talked to Adrianna before, but she seemed pretty nice, and a cool enough person to hang out with. After all, she didn't seem to flinch when he'd said he had a boyfriend. "Um....I guess green. Or blue. Or a very specific shade of brown, but green's really my favorite."

Adrian smiled as he blushed. She'd been right. The name of the boy didn't sound too familiar which surprised her considering she knew just about everyone. As he described Evan she could tell he was totally hooked. It was cute. "He sounds like quite the romantic. I might have seen him a few times, the description sounds more familiar than the name." She nodded slightly as she finally got a mental image of him.

Adri was thrilled when he agreed to take the quiz. Oh this would be fun. She'd never really quizzed anybody but herself before and she was interested in seeing what his results would be. "Green, okay. Um what is the most important thing about him. His eyes, hair and lips, his personality, his body/muscles or all of the above?" She looked up as she waited for his next answer. She personally had picked body. What? She was a girl with hormones, can you really blame her?

She expected Levi to pick all of the above or personality. Both were very good answer, she was just superficial and liked a guy with big arms and a 6-pack. Nothing wrong with that, was there?

"You have to have seen him. He hangs out here all the time since he doesn't like his roommates." Granted, most of the time that Evan was over, they were in Levi's room with the door closed. "But yeah, he's pretty romantic." Levi blushed a little as he spoke; after that date, he'd never really thought about how hard Evan was probably trying to be romantic. Either that, or he was just naturally really sweet.

The next question made him think a little more, and he paused before he asked, "Doesn't saying 'All of the above' sort of defeat the purpose? I mean, it's about the most important thing. Not the four most important. So I'm going to say personality." Because even though Evan had all the other things going for him too, he was just so...kind. "He saved a homeless kitten from the snow last winter."

Some people were looking for a prince. Levi had found a superhero instead.

Adrian had started remembering him more. Duh, the guy who came over every day when she was acting like a moron twirling around the room listening to music. Yeah, she definitely had seen him. And he'd probably thought she was crazy. Everyone did at some point. "Oh right! Okay, yeah. I definitely know who he is now. Sorry, total brain flop." She smiled, he was definitely a cutie, maybe not her type so much, but he suited Levi for sure.

"That's what I thought too, I picked body/muscles just because I'm superficial." She laughed and shook her head slightly. She'd guessed right though and she smiled at his response. That was a huge part of a relationship. You couldn't really be in a serious relationship if you hated the guy's personality. She looked up when he spoke again. "Aw that's sweet. He seems really nice." She nodded with a soft smile.

"Hm. Next question is You're on a date...what are you doing? A.) having dinner at a restaurant talking about each others interests. B.) at the beach watching the sun go down maybe kissing or more. Wink wink. C.) at the movies holding hands and sharing a drink and popcorn or D.) hanging out, laughing, making out, having fun?" She finished and rolled her eyes at the last option. All of the options before that were all of those except they were more serious. It was a dumb answer, but she didn't say anything.

"He is." The freshman was just beaming when he spoke about his boyfriend. He was really in love, and he didn't care that he was being a dork about it. "But he's got muscles too. More than it looks like, 'cause he's skinny, but he's got them." After all, he was Spider-Man.

Levi just had to smile. Finally, the question was easy. There was only one answer which was perfect. "Totally D." Yup, he went for the dumb answer. They'd gone to movies together, and they always had dinner together, but they weren't usually doing 'dating' type things. They were just....together. "Evan's my best friend. We spend most of our time just hanging out together." They even did their homework together. (And Evan was the only reason he was going to pass all of his classes.)

"What did you pick for that one?" Now that he was actually talking to his roommate, he wanted to get to know her more.

Adrian liked the way Levi talked about Evan. It was different from what she was used to. She'd never really seen a lasting relationship though, especially with her mother as reference. That was just a train wreck of relationship problems. He was really into this guy and it was adorable. "Well it sounds to me like he's got the full package for sure." She smiled warmly. It was nice getting to talk to one of her roommates. She'd heard a few things about her other one and was a little more hesitant talking to her, but Levi was really nice and he was easy to talk to.

"Really? Huh, see I picked the beach one. Kinda obvious considering I'm from California and all, but D seemed too vague to me. I'm not a fan of restaurants either, anyone could go to a restaurant and talk. Movies are kind of cliché, not that beaches aren't, but I think watching a sunset from the beach is way more romantic. Me being the closet romantic that I am, I really like that sort of thing, no matter how cheesy it is." She laughed slightly and blushed. It was cheesy, but that's how she'd always been. For Heaven's sake, her favorite movie was the Notebook! Talk about a closet romantic.

"Next is..." She looked down at the magazine and ran her finger down the list of questions until she found her spot. "How would you describe yourself? A.) happy, looking for someone to be happy with. B.) shy and not so confident. C.) playful, looking for a good time or D.) relaxed, calm and cool." She looked up and tried again to guess what his answer would be. It was something she liked doing. She tried to see just how good she was at reading people. Her guess was either A or B.

"Yeah, yeah he does." Levi's grin twisted into a small smirk, entirely because Adrianna said the word "package." He was a fifteen-year-old boy; and as such, was highly amused at accidental innuendo.

Yeah, it drove Evan pretty crazy too. Even if he did have a sweet personality, a superhero's body, nice eyes, and great hair.

He shrugged again, not sure of how else to support his choice. "We really are best friends. We don't have to go on 'dates' all the time to enjoy being around each other. We're just...together. No dating needed." Then he grinned, because there was definitely a better way of looking at it. "Or maybe everything's like a date. We're just really comfortable together." Plus, unless you counted the lake, there weren't really any beaches nearby. Not the "watching sunrise/sunset" kind, at least.

Her next question was much harder than the other ones. "That's a bit personal, isn't it?" Levi definitely wasn't B or D, because while he was pretty confident, he was under no misconception that he was cool. Sam was cool and relaxed. Levi was trying to get there, but he wasn't quite there yet. "I guess I'm C. Or maybe A, but I've already found my someone to be happy with. So C." He grinned again. "Final answer."
