Just a Quick Swim {open}

Adrianna had noticed things starting to actually go back to normal and she wasn't sure if he was doing that, or if she was. All that mattered, was that it was working. She hadn't really been trained in power suppression, but she'd seen Ash use it a few times. Only with Lucah because he hated when Luc messed with him, literally giving him the cold shoulder.

As she noticed everything else get better, she noticed Izzy was still off. She tried harder to focus on him now and make him slow down. She had no clue if it would work. Time control was a dangerous power to have. It was hard to make right. She was getting a headache just trying to help fix it. She was light-headed, but determined to make it right. She had to help him, it was just how she was. No matter how much it ruined the moment, she was glad she was there to help him.

"I'm trying to suppress your power," Adri grunted as she felt her muscles tighten. She was slowly being drained of all energy. That was one of the major problems she had with her power. If she used it too much at a time, she lost energy and would collapse a few minutes after she was done. Unless she used all of her strength and collapsed in the middle of using it. She had only ever used too much at one time once. She was younger and she had been arguing with a telepath. An annoying telepath that wouldn't stay out of her head. So she tried using the telepathy against the other girl. She used it too much, dug too deep into the other girl's mind, that within seconds, Adrian had passed out on the floor.

She was hoping that wouldn't happen now, but she could feel the weight pressing down on her.

Adrianna's voice was still coming in warped, as though listening to an audio track that had been purposefully slowed. But Izzy had practice in listening to time warped people, enough to determine what she was saying. Probably helped that it was what he'd expected: she was working to help him, to restore time. He nodded, and focused himself.

The sounds around him were the clue. Izzy listened, forcing himself to think them regular, not muffled and garbled and distorted by the time warping around him. Just as they were coming in nearly normal, he opened his eyes. There was Adrianna, still in the water. She seemed focused, almost overmuch, and Izzy found himself waving his hands, trying to get her attention, especially trying to make sure she realized that things were starting to fix themselves.

"I've got it!" he called, hoping that the time warp wasn't making his voice coming out like a chipmunk's. "It's going back to normal, you can relax!"

He needed to follow his own advice, of course, and he tried to forcibly do so, taking several deep breaths. Without adrenaline, more specifically without adrenaline freaking Izzy out and overpowering his thoughts, he was definitely more in control. Still, being in control for Izzy was roughly like being in control of a horse you were still breaking. It sometimes obeyed, but it still clearly wanted to do its own thing.

Nonetheless, time slowly restored itself around Izzy, thanks in no small part to Adrianna's own efforts. The young man was panting, clinging to the edge of the pool. Well, he'd wanted a workout anyway...

Adrian watched Izzy focus and she started noticing everything else going back to normal a lot faster. She was still trying to keep things that way, and she hadn't noticed her nose start to bleed. It had never happened before, but then again, she had never dealt with her power this much. She was using that last bit of energy for Izzy to return to normal speed.

She watched as he finally started slowing down, then his voice rang out to her and it was normal too. She stopped using her power and it was like a rubber band snapping back in place after being too far stretched out. She looked at the water as the blood from her nose dissolved into it. She covered her nose and looked up at Izzy.

Wrong move. As she looked up, everything around her started to spin and was falling in on her. Her vision blackened slightly and she went to grip onto the wall. Her hands were too slippery and once she thought she had a grip on it, she blacked out. Her hand slowly sliding off of the wall. She slid into the water unconscious.

Adrianna had never blacked out before. She never overworked her powers because she thought she knew her limits. Well she had pushed her limits and payback was a bitch.

"Oh crap," said Izzy, and that was all he said, before launching off into the water. Instantly, per usual for the poor kid, time seemed to come to nearly a stop as he launched to the rescue. Within seconds, he had one arm laced around Adrianna, while the other cut back through the water. Before the clock had even struck a single second, Izzy had dove into the water, grabbed the girl, and pulled her back out.

However, said boy had also just used his Time Control abilities, had just, in fact, lost control of said abilities. So while normally he could handle a dashing rescue and look none the worse for it, this time, the side effects of overuse started to kick in. The wave of nausea twisted Izzy's gut, and the strain of altering time started to settle in with the rest of his body. Yet he took a deep breath, shoved that aside, and shouldered the girl.

"Just gotta make it to an infirmary or something," he muttered. He shook his head, and started moving as fast as he could. Time was still more or less stopped around him. Each footstep and each heartbeat sounded thunderous to Izzy's mind. The nausea was increasing with each passing moment, and he knew that the moment time snapped back into focus, he'd lose all orientation of himself. Stupid of him to start swimming like this, or to get all riled up, or whatever had brought all this on, likely the combination of powers.

"Now I just have to find the infirmary. Or the nurse's office. Or someone who knows more about this than I do," muttered Izzy. He could feel his stomach lurch with each passing step, and fighting off the nausea was starting to cause even more strain. He attempted to move even quicker, leaving pool for time-stopped halls, desperately searching about. Finally, with little else to do, he headed for the faculty offices, hoping.
