“What? Oh! No.” Estelle clapped a hand over her forehead and laughed, “No, Robbie’s like…my best bro. We’re friends only.” She grinned and brushed the bangs out her eyes, “But you’re not the only one who thought that. But now he has a girlfriend and I have a boyfriend, and it’s just great. I seriously thought I was going to have to stand up on a chair in the cafeteria and shout I am not dating Robbie Wilkes. Actually, I think I had a dream I did that once.” She rubbed the back of her neck, a what-is-my-life look on her face.

“Galadriel, right?” Estelle brightened, “She’s really cool, I like her a lot. She’s got a lot of history of not listening to people and doing what she wants. She’s also pretty terrifying.” She nodded excitedly. Man, she loved Lord of the Rings.

Estelle made a mock-scandalized face, pressing her fingertips to her mouth. “Oh no, not paramance.” She laughed, “But it’s cool, that sounds nice. It’s totally fantasy related.”

"That's it! Galadriel." Mari nodded decisively, delighted that Estelle agreed with her about the elf queen's relative coolness. "She was the obvious person in charge in her relationship. Did her husband ever do anything other than stand around and look pretty? I seem to remember him talking once or twice, but I think she smacked him down."

Her memory of events was a bit fuzzy; she wasn't anywhere near the fan Estelle purported to be.

"Ugh, I know. It's shameful. And the amount of self-insert heroines is terrifying. Somehow I can't stop reading them anyway. I may have a guilty fondness for self-insert heroines. It would actually be pretty bad ass to have every sexy creature of the night want to do you instead of eat you. I don't even care if it's trashy."

She paused, then recanted. "Well, I might care. A little. I wouldn't call it a guilty pleasure if I didn't care at all."

That clarified she decided to move the topic back to boys. "So. I need to meet your boyfriend and this Robbie. Think you can arrange that?"
