“I feel I have more in common with loners.” It was true, most of the time she had more in common with loners, and she liked them because they were never full of themselves like people that were outgoing could be. Loners and kids, the two types of people she liked to hang out with the most, and Cameron, but she really wasn’t sure what he was. Mia bit her lip; she put the pieces together fast, didn’t she? There was no point in hiding it, and she wasn’t going to lie about something as trivial as this.

“Yes, actually a couple times in my life I was a loner..” In her elementary years and then her the past year at her old school; Mia still couldn’t believe she figured it out. It shouldn’t be surprising the girl seemed to know a lot about different things. She blushed a little and smiled “You’re nice too. But being nice really doesn’t have anything to do with feeling lonely..” Unfortunately, even though she was nice and had made quite a few friends; she still felt lonely.

A smile appeared on Mia’s face as Willow agreed to hang out. “awesome!” She was glad she had said yes. Mia was always up for hanging out, for more reasons than one. She chuckled a little “Alright, Pizza it is.” She could handle one slice of pizza, right? She felt like she needed to meet this sister of hers, cause she would like to know more healthy snacks.

“I would love that. If you don’t mind that is.” Mia had many textbooks, most of them under her bed some of them were on her desk and even more was in her room at ‘home’. She was all about learning; if it kept her mind busy, she loved it. They had more in common than most people would think; but that was the thing about the pink haired girl, she was into a lot of things people wouldn’t have thought. And that’s what she loved about herself, she wasn’t a stereotypical person.

“Why?” Willow asked without restraint. The girl seemed eager to know about everything and her power drove her forward. “Loners are alone for a reason, and that reason is different for everyone. That doesn’t scare you?” She asked. But if Mia had been a loner a couple of times then... “Should I be afraid of you?” She asked softly. Willow didn’t want to endanger herself, and now her perfectionist nature was coming in. “Well sure, you can be nice and still be lonely if you don’t let anybody in.” It was something she had read once, and hoped wasn’t true.

“Maybe Junebug... I mean, uh Juniper can hang out with us too?” Willow suggested. Having her sister there would make things so much easier. Then she could do all the talking and Willow could just observe. Her sister made conversation look so natural and easy.

Everyone was a stereotypical person. “Okay,” Willow said, nodding a couple times. She glanced down at the dictionary and then back at Mia. “What can you borrow me?” She thought the question might provide an interesting answer.

Mia shrugged “I don’t know…” She really didn’t know, how was she supposed to answer a question like that anyway? She just seemed to have similar interests with them. “I never thought about it.. But I’m always careful with people.” Considering she always kept people at arm’s length and almost never let anyone in. Mia shook her head “Nope, I promise. Should I be worried about you?” She smiled, there was nothing the girl had to be afraid about with her. She inwardly winced at what she said but didn’t move. She was right, which explained why she always felt lonely. She knew the reason, and she was content with it; sort of.

“I wouldn't mind that. You should ask her.” If it made the other girl more comfortable she wouldn’t mind, besides she liked meeting new people. Mia wouldn’t leave Willow out of conversations, or at least try not to.

Mia bit her lip, trying to think. She didn’t think she had anything for the girl to borrow, than again she really didn’t know much about what the girl liked or what the girl would want. “ah.” She pulled out a necklace from her bag. “Not really something you can borrow but you can defiantly keep it.” She placed the necklace on the table; a necklace she had made herself. It had purple and black ribbon twirled around each other; she had attached a claw hook to the ribbons so it would be easy to take off and on. As for the charm; it was a dark purple guitar pick, she had shaped into a heart; the top edges were a bit rugged but it gave it that punkish vibe, she also painted the edges with black nail polish. Mia had punctured the hole in the guitar pick in the middle instead of the usual top.

"I'm careful with people too," she said. Obviously, otherwise she wouldn't be asking what she was asking. Willow smiled a bit. "I'll let you figure that out for yourself." She was harmless, well, to others anyways.

Willow smiled brightly. It hurt her face, smiling like that. It just didn't happen very often. "I think she'll like you, my sister is fun." She said the last bit a little unhappily. It wasn't that she wished June wasn't fun, she just wished she could be more like her.

Fingering the handmade necklace, Willow glanced from it back to Mia. "I can keep this?" She asked, staring once more at the object. It wasn't every day she got gifts. "But it's pretty, you sure you don't want it?" She would gladly take it, but if Mia changed her mind, Willow would understand.

Mia nodded “Okay than, I don’t mind figuring it out.” She didn’t think the girl could be a danger to her. Then again, she should obviously know there was more to a person than what they let you see.

Mia liked how much the other girl was smiling, it made her heart feel warmer. Like she was maybe making a difference; but she doubted it. She smiled “Glad to hear it.” She bit her lip “Though I’m sure you’re just as fun.” Maybe, maybe not; only one-way to find out. She figured she would need to spend some one on one time with the girl to get her to open up and have some fun though.

She nodded “Of course.” She wouldn’t be giving it the girl if she didn’t want her to keep it. Making necklaces was something she had started doing when she had nothing else to do, so she wouldn’t get into thinking about things. Mostly she didn’t them at night when she had too much on her mind to sleep. Which was happening often now. She shook her head “I’m pretty sure. I can make more.” Mia wouldn’t change her mind. She wasn’t the type of person.

Looking at one of the random clocks, she realized she had to be somewhere. Something about a training session or something like that. “Ah I have to go.. Time slipped away from me. I have to go meet some person about my training sessions or something..” She stood up and smiled once more at the girl “It was nice meeting you. Feel free to text or call me whenever.” It was the reason why she had given the girl her phone number. Mia turned to walk away out of the library; she was happy she had made a new friend.

"Oh, I'm not very fun," she said, not a hint of sarcasm or joking in her voice. Willow just didn't see herself as a fun person. She liked reading and camping with Juniper sometimes, but other than that she kept to herself, studied various things, and didn't like associating with others. She didn't go to parties, she didn't go out really, and she didn't date. There was nothing of interest in her life to talk about, and what was interesting was none of anyone's business.

Clasping the necklace around her neck, Willow smiled brightly at Mia. "How does it look?" She asked, looking for an honest opinion. She really like the guitar pick, because she did like music after all. But she especially loved the color. It was also nice that Mia had made it herself. Willow had never been very crafty, but she liked appreciating other people's skills. "You make them a lot?" She asked. It was just like her sister, making daisy chains. "You should teach me," she said, her eyes big and excited. "You think flowers would work?" She had so many pressed flowers she didn't know what to do with.

But then Mia had to leave and Willow visibly wilted. This was why she didn't want to have friends. "Alright, I'll um, message you?" She asked, feeling weird just trying to be social. She kept telling herself that this was normal and things would work out well.

Mia blinked at the girl but then smiled “I’m sure you’re lots of fun! “ And if by chance she wasn’t than Mia could make up for it. But Mia didn’t get bored easily and had fun doing just about anything as long as it kept her mind busy. For the last year Mia had been keeping to herself too, it was just now that she was starting to get back into having friends and the like. It was something they both could work together on. Mia didn’t go to parties either, she just wasn’t that type of person and she didn’t date, she wanted to but it was much more complicated for her. Really, the only thing that made Mia any fun to hang out with was her personality.

“Beautiful. The colors suit you.” It was darker colors that went well with the girl. Mia wasn’t the type to lie about things, she was very blunt. Purple and black were her favorite colors; that’s why she decided to use them. As for the guitar pick, well music was Mia’s life. She nodded “I have been making them a lot recently, anything to keep my mind busy.” She did other things, like drawing but she also liked making the necklaces. She smiled and nodded “Of course, I would love to. It’s not very hard.” Well the shaping the guitar pick was but everything else wasn’t. “I actually never thought about it but I couldn’t see why not.” If she meant real flowers she was going to have to think of a way for it to, but fake ones or plastic ones could work well.


The pink haired girl frowned when she saw Willows reaction to her leaving. “Hey text me your number and when I’m done with this meeting we can get together and hang out more.” She really didn’t mind spending time with the girl, or with anyone for that matter. She nodded “Can’t wait.” She winked at her. Mia went to check out the hunger games book and then left the library. Mia wasn’t the type to forget about anyone, and she had fun talking to the girl. It was interesting to say the least.
