Unexpected Temptation (Carter)

Carter new a little about the drama. He tried his best not to pay attention to rumours, despite how difficult that ended up being in a high school situation. But it was also because he was sure he had rumours about him floating around. He was the social-type, after all. Through that he had decided not to believe the extent that rumours went to, because his were often false.

"Is that your pattern, then? Not being able to resist pretty faces?" Carter asked lightly, trying to navigate his way through her confusing statements, "Honestly, I suffer from the same problem. Right now, I find it difficult not to stare at you." He admitted, turning his eyes away from the scenery and planting his gaze on her. "I could get lost in your eyes. And if that happened, I don't think I'd mind."

Ravyn may have heard rumors about Carter as well - she couldn't quite recall. Perhaps the name did seem familiar. But she wouldn't know why.

"I... Guess?" she replied, stifling a sigh. "I fall for people hard, really quickly. Often multiple people at once." At this moment, at least, she only had one really strong interest - it was the first in a while, between Cam and the Raines, and then both Lucah and Noah. She had it singled down - as long as Carter didn't somehow worm his way into her heart too. She had a feeling, though, just from the way he talked, that he wasn't really looking for a relationship. It didn't stop her from being attracted to him.

She bit her lip and gave a small, nervous chuckle as he spoke and turned to look at her. Ravyn met his eyes and locked them there, managing not to look away. "I don't think I would mind either," she murmured. He was captivating.

"At least you can admit it." Carter pointed out. He knew a lot of people who suffered from the same problem, but didn't see it as one or didn't even acknowledge that it was a part of their personality. If she was uncomfortable with it, at least she could recognise it. That was the first step to change. That was, if she wanted to change.

He let out a small laugh when she answered him.

For some time now, he had been steadily leaning further inward. Carter didn't seem to realise until now just how close he was. She was looking right at him, and just as he predicted he was finding it difficult to look away. Reacting off a feeling that he may or may not have been right about, Carter took a chance and leaned inward with the intent on pressing his lips against hers.

"Yeah, I guess I can," she laughed quietly. She had talked to several people about her boy issue, it wasn't really a big secret, but it was the first time she had told someone she barely knew. And... In the end, she didn't want to change. Not really. She liked liking boys, and though it had caused her drama in the past, she hoped she would be able to keep it under control in the future.

Ravyn had noticed him leaning in, and kept herself at a mostly vertical position, although gradually she felt herself drawn in like a magnet. She knew that look in his eyes - she had seen in plenty of times in others' - and her heart began to hammer again. As he began to close the distance between them, she had to make a frantic decision - Deny him? Or give in?

It wasn't a hard choice to make.

She closed the small gap between them, tilting her head slightly to meet his lips with hers. She kept it mostly light, although he was intoxicating, making her want more. She managed to pull back slightly after a few moments, keeping a small distance between them. "You're stunning," she murmured breathlessly, gazing into those deep eyes.

Honestly, he wasn't expecting her to refuse him. Not because of himself and his charm or because of however she was feeling. He just knew the feeling, and knew when was the right time to go for some kind of kiss. After a few moments, the contact was gone and that was fine. It was short and sweet, and something he'd remember nonetheless.

"If you ever want someone to talk to, or not talk to..." He began, trailing his words away. He didn't need to finish that sentence. "I can see that something's upsetting you, and I'm assuming it's a relationship. I live in room 205."

Ravyn was glad he hadn't gone in for more - she hadn't known if he would or not, and she pulled back a bit more, keeping close but not as close. She bit her lip once more, trying to sort through the feelings running through her head. Why had she done that? There were several reasons, but still...

His offer of having someone to talk to surprised her. She was even more surprised when she realized... She wanted to talk to him more. His easy-going vibe, his calm demeanor, and how quickly they had started a friend(?)ship made her feel like maybe she could trust him. "I appreciate the offer," she replied, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. "I'll definitely take it. Room 209 for me, if you ever... You know, want to hang out or anything." She rubbed the back of her neck. "Thanks for, you know... Listening." And the kiss, she thought mentally. She missed kissing.

Carter nodded a few times when she spoke, listening and residing to the fact that he was right after all. He kept his calm demeanour throughout the whole situation. When it came to relationships, he didn't really believe in them. But he supposed he could see why others would want the appeal of it so he was all too happy to oblige in helping her.

"I'll keep it all in mind." He replied, securing his hands around the branch on either side. "Hopefully I'll catch you on your birthday, so I can wish you a happy one." Carter smiled in her direction. With that, he lifted his legs with his upper body strength and swung backwards above the branch, using the momentum to fall to the ground and land on his feet in front of the tree.

He turned back and looked at her, offering her a small wave and a nod before walking away again.
