"Of course!" Juniper chirped happily. "This is fun!" And she meant it.

"Yeah," she replied, laughing quietly now, not really at him, but just at the ridiculousness of the situation. "We're not supposed to eat the shell. And yes, it gives the batter a weird texture." There, he was doing it right now, and she clapped encouragingly. "Perfect!" She helped him hold the mixer while it was on, since it was really a two-handed activity and it would be hard to do with his cast on. Soon the mix was smooth and even, and she had him turn off the machine. "That wasn't too bad," she giggled, tucking some curls of hair out of her face as she lined the tray with the paper liners.

She made sure he didn't fill them too high, since the dough would rise, and she turned back once more to the book. "It looks like... Twenty minutes at 350 degrees, and we need to rotate the tins halfway through." The oven beeped, alerting them that the temperature was right, and she stepped back to allow him to stick the trays inside. "Don't worry, I won't let them turn to charcoal," she added, glancing once more at his previous attempts with a grin.

"I suppose there's no nutrition in the shell given it's just a protection factor." he stated though he made an almost embarrassed expression as she clapped so encouragingly for him. he gave a slight smirk down to the shorter curly-haired woman.

He slid the pans into the oven then closed the door, rubbing at his own arm a bit then, waiting for it to finish baking. "Please don't. They have to be perfect." he stated before looking to her as he started to pick up the old trays with one hand. beating them against a trash can to make the charred cupcakes out of them.

"Older men like cupcakes too right?" he questioned the girl.

"Yeaaah. And plus I'm sure it just doesn't taste good," Juniper agreed, laughing lightly. This would definitely be something she was going to tell Amos. He would think it was hilarious, too. How did she seem to get herself in weird, amusing situations like this?

"They will be!" she told him, quite sure of it. They had followed the recipe perfectly. She followed his movements as he went to clean out the tins, taking the emptied ones from him so she could wash them out in the sink while they waited for the cupcakes to be done.

"Oh, goodness, yes," she replied. "I mean, who doesn't like cupcakes? They're so cute and little and wonderful." Of course, she personally wouldn't be eating these, since she was vegan, but she did love her own recipes. She took another opportunity to blow the still slightly smokey air out the window, twisting her arms in a graceful manner to direct the winds correctly. "Who are the for?" she asked, curious, as she continued washing out the pans.

"Hopefully, i want him to like them. " he stated as he raised his hand toward his face. Touching his fingertips to his own lips. Remembering the lingering sensation of that man's lips against his own.

"You seem so sure..." he added as he watched her. handing her each pan as he knocked the bad cupcakes out of the container.

"i'm glad to hear that. He's not like everyone else. He's somewhat different. he comes from a different culture like me, so i am not sure, if it will be enough to get to his heart." he stated casually though he smirked a bit. Though he made a nervous noise when she asked who they were for, "Someone very important to me." he replied.

"I'm sure he will. I don't know who wouldn't!" Juniper was quite sure of this fact. She curiously glanced at him as he pressed his fingers to his lips, wondering what the movement meant, but assumed it didn't really mean anything and turned back to the sink to continue cleaning.

She shrugged, beaming happily. "I always look to the very best possibilities in life. It might not always be realistic, but it makes me content and allows me to not be as stressed as I could be otherwise." It was sort of her motto for life in general. Hakuna Matata!

"That sounds great," Juniper replied, having no idea who he was talking about or what the significance was. Apparently something to do with love, though, which she always, always encouraged! "Ooooh! Well, I hope this goes well for you then, and I'm glad I could help make it happen if it does!" If it didn't, well, at least she had tried, right? She finished cleaning the dishes as he spoke again, nodding sympathetically. She wouldn't pry to find out who if he didn't want to offer. "Oh, you might want to turn the trays in the oven," she told him, wiping her hands on a towel. "Just turn them so the sides facing the front now are facing the back. It's to help make sure they're all cooked evenly."

"I hope so. " He stated with a faint sigh. "Hakuna matata?" He questioned as the phrase was foreign to him. Though he nodded firmly to her in an agreeing manner. "I hope so too. I will let you know how it goes. " he stated with a smile. "Hopefully love will conquer all as they say, yeah? Oh and could you uh.. not tell anyone about this whole..cooking thing." he stated waving a finger around the room as he spoke.

He moved to the oven, turning the trays as directed before closing it again, at least he used an oven mitt, and wasn't completely foolish when it came to that kitchen stuff.

"Hakuna matata! What a wonderful phrase~" Juniper immediately started singing, unable to stop herself. "Hakuna matata! Ain't no passing craze~!" She spun as she sang, letting her long skirt billow out as her long hair flew around her, aided by the slight breeze she was creating. "It means no worries, for the rest of your days!" She let her arms drift out as she spun, a giddy smile on her face. "It's our problem-free, philosophy! Hakuna matata~!" She came to a stop, as though just then remembering she had an audience. "Um, if you've never seen The Lion King, you need to," she told him as an explanation. "I can let you borrow it from me." Everyone needed to see that, in her opinion.

"Please do tell!" she nodded, really hoping he would return with good news. "Love always conquers all," she sighed faintly, a smile touching her lips. "Oh, no worries," she added, looking over at him again. "But, if you ever want help again, just let me know!" Before she could forget, she grabbed a piece of paper and scribbled down her number, handing it to him with flourish.

He seemed fine handling the tray; it was just a matter of waiting a few more minutes for them to be done completely. "Did you get frosting?" she questioned. That was an important part, after all!

Oh dear lord what had he started in asking her that question. He stared at the girl with a look of utter confusion, it sounded familiar, but he didn't really recognize where it was from. "oh that." he stated when she pointed it out for him what it was from. "I haven't seen that since i was very young." he added to her.

"I hope so." Leiken would state with all the hope he could manage. "I will, you've helped alot already thank you." he stated though he looked confused as she gave him her number. Usually when a girl did that it was because he'd slept with them. "o..oh i'm not interesting in that right now. " he stated waving his hand toward the paper. He moved as the timer went off ont he stove. taking the pan from the oven and setting it on top of the stove. "Its right here." he mentioned moving over to where he'd kept it. He opened the tip of the pre-filled and made bag. Looking at it as he tried to figure out how it opened.

Juniper let out an embarrassed laugh as she saw the look on his face. "Sorry, I tend to burst into song at random," she told him, seeing nothing really wrong with that fact. At least he had seen the movie, but she figured he should see it again. "It's one of my favorite movies of all time," she added. Along with Tarzan, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Ferngully, Tangled, Quest for Camelot, the Road to El Dorado... The list was quite endless.

She smiled as he said she had helped, but wasn't expecting him to deny her offer of her number. Juniper stood still for a moment, blinking. Oh, well. If he didn't want it, then she supposed he could just seek her out some other way. "Okay. Well, the offer still stands!" She placed the paper on the counter in case he changed his mind. She stepped back as he took out the tray, coming close once more as it was settled on the counter. She helped him place them all on plates before looking to the frosting. "Oh, here, like this," Juniper offered, gently taking the bag of frosting away from her for a moment to show him out to do it. She spread it delicately on one, before handing it back. "Not hard," she told him with a smile, resting her elbows against the counter and watching him.

"I see. " he stated though inwardly he was highly amused. He would have to remind himself of that habit of hers so that he wasn't surprised by it again. "Oh? I haven't seen it since i was a child." he pointed out.

"Thanks, I will keep that in mind. " he stated completely misjudging the situation. She seemed a little less than his own tastes as far as partners went, but who was he to deny an opportunity if he was in need of it? He was of course completely misreading her reasoning. He watched her closely before nodding, "Thank you" he stated as he slowly frosted the rest of the cupcakes. Giving a satisfied expression as he reached over to the box he'd prepared before hand. Setting the plate of cupcakes inside of it then closing the lid. "There. " he stated taking in a deep breath. "Thank you again. I really do appreciate it." he stated sliding teh box into his arms while looking to the clock. "I'd better hurry. I'm already late. " he stated with a worried tone.

A lot of people that were friends with Juniper had to get used to her spontaneous quirks. Breaking into song, dancing in the rain, hugging trees without much thought... It was just who she was. "I just watched it the other night," she laughed. It had been about the hundredth time she'd watched it.

If Juniper had been aware of what he was thinking her offer meant, she would have been horrified. That wasn't what she meant at all. She was just always on the lookout for new friends and new people to spend time with. She stood nearby and watched as he finished off the cupcakes, nodding in appreciation as they were complete. "Perfect! He's going to love them." She smiled at him; normally she would go in for a hug, but he seemed to be the kind that didn't appreciate physical affection like that, so she resisted. "No problem at all. I had a lot of fun." She made sure he could carry the box okay with his hurt wrist before going to grab her things. "Okay! I'll see you around sometime. It was a pleasure to meet you, Lei." With a wave, she left the classroom, a giddy smile still on her face as she walked down the hall, the one she always wore when she thought she had made a new friend.

"Oh? Well, if you're into that sort of thing..." he stated trailing off. He hadn't really watched many movies to be honest. Not recent ones anyway nor had he recently overall. He enjoyed the idea of sitting down and watching a movie with friends, but who would he watch movies with ? Maybe vincent would be interested hm?

He blushed faintly at the thought, though he pressed it from hid mind, "I hope so !" He stated firmly. "A pleasure to meet you as well Jun." he stated casually. His expression remaining placid though his eyes held such hope within them as he ran off from the room.
