Ok, now he was sure that Eri was crazy. “How about you,” he gestured to Eri, “Do that. And I’ll,” he gestured to himself, “Pretend I don’t know you.” He smiled to show he was teasing. He had to admit that with Eri’s apparent motivation he wouldn’t be surprised if she could pull it off. He had a reputation as a trouble maker and he was fine with living up to that it was rather fun after all. But Eri would never know about his darker past, he had already decided. There were too many people here that knew his past and he wanted to keep that number low. Eri wouldn’t have to worry about anything hands on from Lani unless it was to shove the cupcake man away. He didn’t see any reason that Eri would have to know either which was a blessing in and of itself.
Lani raised a brow at Eri and took a step to the side. “Eri, I’m not going to cuddle with you,” Lani said as if he had taken his offer seriously. Lani was going to draw the line there. He could deal with hugs and even Eri poking at his face and calling him adorable because he was sure that the other man was just joking or teasing. Cuddling was a little bit much for him. Lani couldn’t keep his serious expression for long as hearing about how happy Eri was made him happy. He waved his hands in a downward motion as if to cool her enthusiasm. It was a little overwhelming. “Sounds good.” Lani was honestly surprised that he was here and not having exploded at her… him, he really needed to stop doing that, for touching him. He was used to people being able to read when he was uncomfortable and backing off but it seemed like Eri found this ‘adorable’ and did it all the more.
Lani smirked at Eri and he had a more than cocky expression on his face. “Really? I’d like to see you try.” He taunted wondering slightly if he would eventually learn to regret those words. The fingers drew in and in fear of him pinching Lani’s cheeks again Lani caught his hands between his own holding them until he was able to get out of range again. Lani wrapped his arms around his torso as he laughed at Eri’s impression. He hadn’t laughed this hard in ages! It was starting to hurt! He recovered only to laugh again when ruffling Eri’s hair had the desired effect. Lani leaned away and closed the eye closest to Eri as the hand came at him. He wrinkled his nose and ducked out from under it brushing his hand through his hair fixing the mess it had made. Eri was out of luck for Lani had significantly less hair than he did and didn’t really care about what it looked like so long as it didn’t look like he rolled out of bed.
Lani’s eyes widened and he shook his head at Eri, alright, leave Eri out of any future trouble making. “That doesn’t mean you have to stop breathing!” Lani exclaimed before smacking his palm into his forehead. He was going to have a red mark on his forehead if this kept up. He looked down at Eri, how old had the file said he was? It seemed like Eri was very much still innocent. And if not innocent he did a very good job at faking it. Either Eri was just as good at masks as he was or he really was just this carefree. Lani had to admit that he was jealous. “Alright, come on Swabbie, we’ve got the treasure now it’s time to split.” He glanced down the hall. He sighed he was probably going to hear about this Eri was very bad at the whole not drawing attention thing.
Opening his mouth to protest being hugged one of his adjectives distracted him. “Squishy!” He exclaimed and looked down at himself. He prided himself on not being squishy. “Ok, ok, lemme go!” He poked Eri in the stomach to get him to release his hold. Truth be told Lani hadn’t figured out how to feel about it yet. He knew all about putting on masks and being someone who he wasn’t. Maybe Eri’s was a step above what Lani’s was but it was essentially the same thing. Maybe Lani couldn’t sympathize but he could understand, or at least try to. Lani just raised a brow not really wanting to know why he was thinking about ponies. Eri was more of a girl than his little sister was. Lani paused and smiled as she ran after him. He laughed and shook his head covering his smile with a hand. He stuffed his hands in the front pocket of his hoodie and as Eri caught up he matched pace with her wondering how she had been able to run in those shoes. “What classes are you in?” Lani asked now that he had his schedule he was curious if he was actually in any of the same classes with Eri.
