The Details
Hair Color: Dark brown
Eye Color: Brown
Any Piercings? Once on right ear, twice on left
Any Tattoos? Nope
Any Scars? Nothing out of the ordinary except for a few extra scrapes and scratches from track and field
General Appearance:
In a word, cute. Her thick brown hair is cut short into a boyish crop around a heart-shaped face, with bangs that frame bright brown eyes and almost impish features. Her skin is a light tan due to both her heritage and her time spent outdoors, and is nearly flawless apart from the occasional scrape or scar.
She’s quite petite, at a height of only 5’1” and weighing in at just over a hundred pounds. Her shape is pretty athletic, and she lacks any defining curves; she is, overall, quite androgynous. Her normal attire consists of athletic clothes or casual attire of other kinds; she hardly ever dresses up unless the occasion calls for it.
Personality:
Yue is, first and foremost, competitive. She works extremely hard at everything she’s interested in pursuing – especially sports – and hardly ever gives up in anything. This can lead to the point of becoming an unhealthy obsession; more than once, she’s pushed herself too hard when practicing for track and field events. However, her competitive nature also makes her extremely supportive of her friends in their pursuits; if anyone ever needs cheering up or optimistic words, she’s the one to turn to. She believes anyone can succeed if they put their mind to it.
That being said, she’s very loyal to her friends, and has a good group of them thanks to her energetic, outgoing nature. She loves getting together to play games or just hang out, although she can occasionally get a little bossy too.
She despises gender roles, and does whatever she can to prove she can do anything that her brothers could do. It was because of their presence in her life that she feels more comfortable with her guy friends than a group of girls, and would much rather spend time roughhousing than painting her nails and gossiping. She uses her androgynous appearance to her advantage and occasionally takes on the role of being a boy just for the fun of it.
She’s not opposed to casual dating, but she’s really not looking for a serious relationship. She wouldn’t be completely against it happening, but she enjoys just being one of the guys for now, even though she is heterosexual. If she were to get into a dating relationship, she wouldn’t put much effort into acting any girlier than she does (or doesn’t) already, so any boys better not expect it!

History
Born in the town of Xi'an, China, Yue doesn't remember most of her life in her home country. Her brothers, Zhuang and Ju-long, were born two and four years before her respectively. After their third child was born, Yue's parents decided to move to the United States in order to give them more opportunities to get a promising education. So, when Yue was just about a year old, they moved to California.
Even at a young age, both of Yue's brothers as well as Yue herself showed promise for athletics. The three children were all put on club sports teams - soccer, basketball, the like - and did excellent in nearly all of them. Throughout elementary school and middle school, the family became a sport family, spending a lot of time going to different games and cheering on the three siblings.
Yue was always small for her age, though, and she sometimes got picked on for it. Her brothers were both big and strong, and she often felt a bit jealous of their natural gifts. She worked extra hard to show others that size meant nothing when it came to hard work and dedication, and won various medals in her childhood. She even dabbled in Chinese martial arts for a time, earning the name Little Mantis for her size and great speed.
While neither of their parents were meta-human, they had a family history of having abilities in the family, and Ju-long was the first to manifest, when Yue was nine. It was hard to see her older brother go, and Yue was depressed for some time, but she gained hope from the possibility that she might someday have an awesome ability of her own. A little over a year later, Zhuang also manifested, and followed Ju-long to attend Hammel Academy. Alone now, Yue became even more dedicated to her sports, finding a special love in track and field. She was even more competitive than before, feeling a need to fill in the hole that her brothers had made when they left.
Finally, at the age of eleven, Yue gained her abilities. She was hoping for something that would help her in sports - super speed, maybe, or super strength. Enhanced endurance would be awesome. But, no, that wasn't what she got. What she got was waking up one morning surrounded by wriggling, crawling creatures all over her bed. She screamed, her parents came in, and within days the recruiters came and whisker her away to Hammel after her brothers to gain control over the stupid little bugs that kept crawling out of her hair.
She reconnected with her brothers as soon as she got there, and things were better, despite the lame ability she had been given. She excelled at sports even at Hammel, and was known for her fierce and competitive spirit. She's still attending there now, and has grown to accept her ability, even if she does still sometimes wish she had gotten something better. Nevertheless, she has plans to become a professional athlete after she graduates, and is working hard to achieve that goal.
