Ellie fidgeted the whole time as they walked off the plane and into the Vegas airport. She was nervous. Extremely so. She honestly didn’t know why Guy was bothering taking her to meet his mother because more than likely she’d end up doing something stupid and make his mother hate her or something.

Before she knew it, a little ball of energy was running at them and she looked up to find a woman with the Vegas look. She was gorgeous and now Ellie really felt self-conscious. If his mother was this pretty, why was he settling for someone like her? But she tried not to dwell on it too much as she watched the little reunion happen in front of her. She envied him for the relationship he had with his mother and with the adorable little girl that clung to him. She smiled back at the little girl and waved just as shyly.

Elisia was surprised despite his warning when his mother hugged her. She was not used to motherly affection to put it lightly and it was sad that someone else’s mother was more affectionate towards her than her own mother. “Uh, hi M-Mrs. Roeby,” Ms? Honestly Ellie had no idea, she just felt like she was going to be sick. It was one thing being put into a social setting, but meeting someone else’s parents, especially a boy’s, well that was asking for disaster.

She looked over at Guy who was blushing just as much as she was and gave him a slight smile. They headed towards the pizza place and Ellie strayed behind them, far too afraid to walk beside his mother. He lingered behind as well and she shook her head, “N-no, it’s really not too much. I’m just really not good at the whole being social thing…She probably things I have a mental disability with as much as I’m stuttering.” She sighed and reached for his hand for comfort.

With the amount of stupid Guy brought to the table on a regular basis, his mother would only be used to quirky personalities by now.

Guy wasn't trying to make Ellie feel envious, he was super nervous himself. If only he could just be a suave kind of man, presenting his family in the most perfect way. But in his eyes, they were perfect, and they did a good job of presenting themselves without much help from him.

His mother gave Ellie a playful grin. "Oh no, call me Barb." She said it as though she had had to explain this to people a hundred times before. Guy smiled at his mom, adoring the way she tried to put others at ease. Why wasn't he more of a people person like her?

Guy laughed at his... girlfriend? He gulped hard at the thought. "She doesn't think that Ellie," he said reassuringly. "Welcome to Las Vegas!" He announced, before picking her up and spinning her around. Maybe that would shake her out of her stupor. "Don't worry, just be you," he said, setting her down, going in for a kiss.

"My turn!" Came a small voice, and Guy quickly pulled away, smirking at his little sister, ruffling her hair. "Maybe after pizza," he said, and her eyes went wide with remembrance. "Pizza!"

Once they were at the place and everyone had ordered their personal pan pizzas, Guy sipped at his Coke. It was his mother who started the conversation. "So," she began, looking at Ellie, "when did you guys start dating." Her eyes were full of interest. "Mom..." Guy said, blushing already.

Barb, right. Ellie nodded and offered her another shy smile. It was nice knowing that even when she felt like she was making a fool of herself, his mother offered some comfort. She knew she was going to like his mom already. Maybe it was because she didn’t have any motherly figures in her life outside of Tim, but she wondered if all moms were supposed to be like this with their children. She really had no idea what it was like really having a relationship with her own.

Giving him a slight nod, she guessed he was probably right. She hadn’t been expecting him to pick her up and when he did, she wrapped around him and laughed. Okay, this was definitely one of the reasons she liked him so much. He really did help her relax. He set her down and kissed her which caused her to blush furiously and smiled up at him before giving him a hug.

The little girl must have seen it happen because she was all for getting a turn, but like the good brother he was, he reminded her of the food they were going to be getting. Ellie just smiled and walked beside him towards the restaurant again.

After being seated and ordering what they decided on, Elisia looked around, occasionally taking a drink of lemonade. She was mid0drink when his mother started talking and she gulped it down at the question, her eyes wide and nervously glancing at him. She cleared her throat and folded her hands in her lap, hoping to keep them from fidgeting too much. “Uhm…w-well we’ve uh, only just started d-dating a little bit ago, but we’ve hung out a few times before that.” Seemed simple enough, right?

“What?” Barb said, sending a devilish smirk in Guy’s direction, who just shook his head. “He never really tells me what’s happening between the two of you, so I figured I’d just ask you, woman to woman.” She explained, before wrapping her lips around the straw. Guy just shook his head, a quirk of a grin on his face. Honestly, he hadn’t told her what the scoop was because he didn’t know what they were exactly. He didn’t want to push Ellie.

Just started dating. Yeah! That about summed it up, and Guy was nodding along quickly. “Anyways,” he said, gesturing towards his mother, “how are your shows going?” This seemed to set her off, and Barb filled the silence with stories of work, and how the other dancers were. She was the lead performer, and did most of the singing, since she was getting ‘too old’ for dancing every single night. “But I still do from time to time,” she said, offering Ellie a wink, like something was being kept from the younger woman. Guy was barely able to contain his smile.

Their pizza arrived, and Guy had nearly forgotten what he’d ordered until the little one was already picking at it. “Tradsies?” She asked in her cute little girl voice, and Guy obediently traded her a fourth of his for a fourth of hers. He frowned at her piece which was now his. “What did you order?” He asked, looking at it skeptically. “The Barbarian,” she squeaked, biting into his meatlovers. He shook his head. “Some people’s kids,” he mused, before glancing at Ellie. “How’s yours?”

Ellie was starting to love his mom. Flat out adore her. She was so nice and very conversational. Majorly different from her own mother. Maybe it was because she reminded Ellie so much of Guy that she liked his mother so much. Elisia was curious as to why Guy hadn't said anything about the current situation to his mother, but then she figured he was probably just as confused about the whole thing as she was. After all, she hadn't really told her fathers about what was going on other than that she had a huge crush on him and that he'd asked her out a time or two. Then they of course heard of the trip to Las Vegas.

Giving his mother a smile, she couldn't imagine what it was like dancing and singing every night for crowds of people. She wanted this life. "That's amazing. I can't even imagine having a job as fun as that. What's it like singing and performing in front of people every night? Do you still get nervous?" Okay, Ellie, time to stop rambling. She just couldn't help herself. The performing lifestyle was made for her and it wasn't like she could talk to her mother about it because she was far too busy with her New York city life.

Elisia was thankful when the food came because it meant less conversing and more time to think things through. She didn't want to say something stupid that would make his mother not like her or something. She bit into her pizza, watching the exchange between him and his sister. It was pretty adorable. After swallowing she nodded, "It's good. Though with our cooking skills we could definitely make better." With that she smiled and nudged his shoulder with her own lightly.
