I'm Drunk, You're Drunk! We're All Drunk (Callie)

Life was beautiful. Glorious even. Why had he waited so long to have fun like this? Alcohol had always been so lovely to him before in small doses, but it was even better in large amounts! He was happy and bubbly and loving everything. And for those few people that didn't know Lucah, they wouldn't understand why this whole experience was so insane.

He busted his way through the door of the newly bought apartment, laughing and slap happy. Ravyn was who knows where, he could barely figure out where he was. Heading straight to his room, he pulled his phone out and looked through it for his....uhm, well whatever they were's number. The name came up and he tapped the call button, holding it to his ear.

A few rings passed before the dialtone stopped and he was met with a sleepy voice on the other end. He smiled and closed his eyes. He missed the sound of her voice. Luc laid down on his bed and folded an arm behind his head, "Hey there gorgeous." First coherent sentence out, this was looking to be an okay conversation....for now.

Work had been exhausting, and Callie was incredibly glad when she got back to her dorm. She felt so tired she wasn't even sure what was going on any more, but somehow she managed to make it to her room and fold herself underneath the bright yellow blanket that gave her so much comfort. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was out like a light.

That was, until her phone rang. The downside of tucking it under her pillow before she went to sleep was that it was practically in her ear when it rang. At least it meant the alarm did it's job, right? Well, this was different. She dragged the phone out, glancing at the time - 3am?

She probably should have looked at the name, too. But she wasn't all together there in the moment.

"Heeeey-" Callie greeted, listening to the voice on the other end. Normally she didn't get a call at this hour unless it was something important. Maybe someone was in trouble, or something? But her mind wasn't able to hit that stint of worry yet. "Lucah? Is that you?" She asked, surprise etching into her voice amidst the sleepy dragging of her words. "Whassup? Um... Are you okay?"

Lucah smiled, loopy as ever as he listened to her. It was taking him a few minutes to really think about what he was going to say. All of the questions weren't helping. His head was pounding already and he knew deep down in his mind that he was going to be so completely hungover he probably wouldn't be able to function correctly. It was a wonder he wasn't dancing around the apartment. Granted he had at the club, the bartender and bouncers weren't so pleased with him.

"Yes 'ts me. Who d'you think it'd be?" He would be classified as a silly drunk by far, but there were a few emotional drunk symptoms in him as well. Like the sheer worry he felt when she asked if it was him. Honestly, who else would she expect to call this late at night? Was she expecting some form of booty call? He was sure as hell hoping not or he'd whoop some punk's ass without any questions (and probably hurt himself in the process).

"Nononono! Everything's fine. I just wanted to call you 'cause..." He trailed off losing his thought process. Why had he called her? "You're pretty." That seemed legit right? Yeah, his mind was scattered completely now.

"I honestly don't know. I don't get a lotta calls at this time." Callie replied, offsetting the chance of annoyance with a small laugh. Was he really calling her at this time? Well, he didn't sound upset or angry. That left few reasons why he might call her. It didn't take long to put the pieces together, even if she was groggy from how tired she was. Lucah was the last person she expected a call like this from.

She breathed a quick sigh when he told her everything was fine. That was definitely a plus. She knew not to worry about him then. Or at least, not to worry about that aspect of things. "You really think so?" She asked, rolling onto her back and staring up at the ceiling. Through it all she spoke completely genuinely, with a touch of amusement in her tone; "That's a sweet reason to call. I feel so lucky."

Lucah shifted on the bed and tried not to focus on the ceiling that was spinning in circles. It made him dizzy and sick which were two things that would ruin his great mood! Best to focus on something else. So he settled for the little picture he had framed of Callie. He couldn't remember when it was taken or why, but it always made him feel better.

He closed his eyes and listened to her voice. It was soothing talking to her and it made him feel a little groggy himself. When she asked if he really thought so, he smirked and nodded, until he realized she couldn't see him. "Well of course I think so, you're beautiful." All throughout.

Luc reached for the beer he had earlier placed on the nightstand and took a quick drink. Once it was cleared from his throat, he let out a small sigh. "I miss you, baby." Funny how he could see her the day before for hours and still miss her when she was gone like this.

Callie pressed her lips together, determined to stop herself from laughing at him. Yeah, it was clear just from his bold confidence and coloured words that he'd been drinking. Who knew he was a drinker? She didn't mind either way. Eventually she chuckled slightly, in part wishing she could actually see him like this; "You're a cutie, Lucah." She replied quietly.

"You could always sneak into Hammel and come hang out with me." She joked, running her free hand along her face. The thought of seeing Lucah trying to get past security would be incredibly worth it. Maybe he'd actually have a chance, too. He was a graduate; "I bet you wouldn't get caught."

Lucah didn't mind her laughing because he had no clue it was directed at him. Honestly he found everything funny right now so it just made him laugh more. He kept wondering why he hadn't drank like this before. It was so much less stressful to him. Gosh he wished she was here to see him so loose and fun. Her answer made him smile.

"Don't tempt me, Cal. I'll do it, and I mean it's not that far of a walk, but with how effed up I am right now, I'd probably run right into a parked car," He laughed. But he really wanted to see her. He wanted to be with her more than anything right now. Why did she have to work? If she hadn't been working she'd have come with them to celebrate and he wouldn't be missing her this much.

It was almost worth running into a car to go see her though. "You really think I won't get caught if I try?"

Callie found drunk!Lucah... Endearing. And painfully cute. She couldn't help but laugh given the differences in his personality. Not at him. But with him, when he recovered and realised he'd called her.

She pressed her free hand to her forehead, chuckling to herself at his reaction. She'd been joking. Or had she? She couldn't even remember given how late it was. "It's a pretty far walk, I think." She replied calmly, "I really don't want you running into any parked cars. Is it worth that kind of risk?" She asked, but oh the very thought of someone being so determined to see her was actually pretty adorable.

"I'd put all my money on you not even getting here." Callie replied, stretching through her words as she idly lengthened her back. She exhaled a slow sigh after the move. "Cause it's late. Or... Early? And I'm gonna guess that you can't drive straight right now. Amirite?"

When Lucah found out about this call, he'd probably feel incredibly stupid. But hey, if she said that it was cute and endearing, he might get over it. As long as he didn't call anyone else that would make him feel worse about himself.

"It's definitely worth the risk, babe. Always," It was the same thing he'd have said if he was sober because it was true. He really did think she was worth any risk he'd have to take. Callie was just about everything to him right now and he hated that he couldn't be with her all the time. Sure they worked at the same place, but he wasn't there every night and he hardly got to spend time with her when they had to perform the same nights.

"I can't drive period," He said with a laugh and leaned his head back against the headboard. Lucah was itching to go to her though. "It's pretty early, but I wanna see you sooo bad," He said softly. If only to say goodnight and give her a few cuddles and kisses. Luc hadn't seen her in what felt like forever.

"The risk of you dying? I don't think so." Callie replied quickly, laughing through her words as she spoke. She knew it was hard to talk sense into a drunk person, but she also knew it was worth a shot anyway; "Think about it for a sec. If you get hurt, you might never see me again. How bad is that!"

The more he spoke, the funnier things seemed to get. But she knew how to talk to a drunken mind; "I knoooow." She whispered back, "But think of how angry your dormmates will be if you wake them all up stumbling through the hall?"

"But Callie, it is worth it! I mean sure there's a risk of dying, but what if I actually make it and do get to see you?" He smiled into the phone. "You're right though, not seeing you ever again would be the worst thing ever. I'd have to settle for seeing angels, and you're much nicer to look at," Lucah smirked.

He nearly dropped his phone in excitement, "That's why I called you! Er, well, the other reason I called you. I got an apartment today! It's in Pilot Ridge, but still sorta close to the school. We don't have to deal with those dumbasses anymore when you come over." And that was probably the number one thing he loved most about it. The lack of dumbasses. It was just him and Ravyn.

Wait, should he mention that too?

Callie pressed her lips together, stifling a laugh. "Listen to you, pulling out your A-game flirting for me." She replied quietly. Having to settle for seeing angels? Was she talking to the same Lucah she'd been dating for the law few months?

She pulled herself up, her eyebrows knitting together as his tone rose. If she wasn't awake already, she was now. It was no secret that Callie didn't like visiting his dorms; the attention other people gave her never sat well on her shoulders. And she was sure Lucah didn't like the way people probably spoke of her. She had a brother in college. He didn't live there, but she knew how they were. "An apartment? That's great! Talk about a step up!" She said, with as much excitement as she could muster.

"You can afford that with what they pay you at the House? It must be tiny." Callie added, teasing him as she crinkled up her nose.

"You deserve this kind of flirting always, I'm just better at it when I'm drunk off my ass," He laughed. At least he could admit it. Then again, if he was sober, he probably wouldn't be saying these things. He was a lot more reserved then.

Lucah was happy with her reaction, he knew she'd like it. And he wanted her to see it so much! It was going to be great when she did, but he wasn't sure when she would have time to come see him. Or when he could pick her up. "I know! I can't wait to show you, it's amazing!" And he couldn't contain his excitement. He had forgotten all about the jokes him and Ravyn made about the rules they needed to make up.

"Oh no, I'm not paying for it all on my own, well not anymore. I've got a roommate! Ravyn got a job at this pastry place and she wasn't really interested in staying at the dorms for reasons we both understand, so I offered to split it with her. Isn't it great?"

"Finally, somewhere to stay after work that's not so far away." Callie replied happily. She knew she could always stay with her brother, but he was still in the dark when it came to details of her newest job. Then again, he'd really get mad if she knew she was going to stay at Lucah's place.

She initially cringed at the thought of Lucah having a roommate, if only because it meant he was still sharing with someone. But when he said who, her expression got worse. And she was incredibly glad he couldn't see it. "Two is always better than one." She replied instead. "And an apartment kicks a lot more ass than a dorm room any day."

"Yes! Exactly! I can't wait for you to come over, it's going to be so much fun," And he really was happy that she was looking forward to it. It had scared him at first because he was worried she wouldn't really want to hang out with him alone like that. And if her brothers found out...he was more or less screwed.

Her answer made him brighten and he wished he could have snatched her up right then and hug her. "I mean it's only until one of us settles down with someone, but I figure it's easier this way instead of staying in a crappy, tiny little condo thing." He sighed happily and closed his eyes with a smile on his face. "When are you going to come see me and check it out? It has to be soon because I can't stand another minute without you," He smirked.
