“Now you’re getting it!” Pointing a finger at Lux happily, as he threw his empty beer bottle over Before he stumbled to his feet and went to the bag and pulled out two more beer bottles. “Think fast!” Jack exclaimed as he throw the bottle into Lux’s waiting embrace, while Jack sat back down in his original position taking a healthy gulp of his drink, feeling VERY loose now.

The mood slightly was spoiled by that little comment about how it was a shock for lux, He could almost hear something else behind her tone…Something not exactly positive. But at this point Jack was too hammered to gauge what it was or even how to respond to it. So he just ignored it for now.

“Yeah, that’ll probably be a bit demoralizing, but dude you can turn into a freaking cat, how awesome is that?! Who gives a crap if someone brings it up?” It was at this point Jack began to speak in a mock high-pitched female voice.

“Ooohh, look at that lux’s girl, Just look at her tail, what a loser. I bet she-OH MY GOD SHE’S CLAWING OUT MY EYES! AHHH!SO MUCH BLOOD”

Jack punctuated this little role play with little clawing motions before hitting Lux with another smile, as if she was trying to telepathically communicate that she had nothing to be embarrassed about.

Jack brow narrowed a little as he contemplated the question

“From time to time, if I need to.You may find this hard to believe but people don’t seem to enjoy my company around these parts. I know shocking right? So every once in awhile when I get tired of their bitching I come down here…and yeah…do nothing…What about you?”

Expecting Lux to catch anything that comes flying towards her was probably the worst thing anyone could ever think about her. She was clumsy down to the bone and she couldn't have caught that bottle even if it came floating in slow motion. So no, even if her 'waiting embrace' was more than ready, she didn't exactly manage to catch it gracefully. Well, at least it didn't break, and that was an improvement. She opened it and took a sip. This definitely tasted a lot better than the other hell water.

He did have a point. A very good one at that, but then again, Lux wasn't all that into violence, and there was still that awkward little problem about ripping apart her clothes when shifting, which just made it all the more awkward every time she did. It was one of the worst things she could ever imagine happening, at least around people. But she laughed nonetheless. ''Oh yeah, a meowing lion is totally the scariest thing in the world. Better watch out! Nope. Threw a yarn ball, danger averted.'' Nope. Lux was totally not the right person to have a power like this. She was already uncomfortable in her own skin, having several others didn't help her cause.

Taking yet another sip of the beer she leaned back on her elbows and bit her lower lip. ''Oh, wow! Really? I would never have guessed!'', she said sarcastically and smirked. No, she could easily see how some people would come at the off end with him, but every type of personality had their matches and the ones they just didn't get along with, so it was all in all pretty normal. ''Well, think of it this way; It's their loss in the end.'', she said, trying to comfort him. Not that he looked like he needed it, but still.

Ha, Lux drink? Nope. This was the second time she had ever tasted alcohol. ''Eh, not really.'', she said with a laugh and leaned further back, focusing her eyes on the sky. Well, trying to anyways. Her eyes was a little slow reacting to things and her focus blurry. Then again, her entire body felt slow and blurry. But she was slowly getting used to it by now.

So, this was the famous stage of being drunk? Or was she tipsy? She didn't know.

Really Lux didn’t know what she had. Say what you will about turning into a lioness, it was still a pretty damn cool trick to pull off In Jack’s view when it came to powers it was all about what you can do and rather then what you can’t do. Sure he could see why Lux didn’t exactly enjoy turning into a cat but he supposed their were a lot of things that a cat could do that a person couldn’t that made it worth while. It was matter of perspective.

“When the hell did you last see a giant fearsome lion be tamed by a piece of strings?! Those’s things are fluffy death machine, they’ll probably eat that ball right before they claw out your face”

Jack leant down all the way feeling drowsy as he slip his drink once again as he chuckled at Lux’s comment. “Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit Miss Viera”

However the good humour quickly left as Lux’s vocalized her theory, Jack slowly turned his head towards Lux and hit her with a look of disbelief on his face.

“You think so? heh. I doubt it.”

God this was the whole thing Jack didn’t enjoy about drinking, there’s was practically no filter from his mind to his mouth now. He was vulnerable and was too groggy to put on his usual façade, and Jack just opened up his own insecurities and self loathing to a girl he barely knew far more then he would like, regretting ever saying that to Lux. He turned his head back up to the sky took a sip of his beer, hoping to change the subject.

“God, doesn’t it feel like you could stay here forever. I could literally take a nap right here and now…So why did you come out here anyway?"

Maybe she wasn't aware how cool her powers were in other people's eyes, but the facts still stood; It wasn't a power that suited her personality. She wasn't this fierce being that could claw open a man's face with her paw. No, she was a down to earth girl who liked simpler things. Like watching a good horror movie, or feeling the soft touch of rain against her skin. Running around in the woods, growling and hunting for prey? As far from her as it could ever be. ''Too bad I'm not a violent person then, I guess.'', she said with a chuckle and shook her head. Nope. Couldn't she have been able to shift into a cute little ferret or something instead?

She met his gaze with a half-smile. Maybe he didn't believe it, but she did. He wasn't half as bad as he was cracked up to be. Maybe that was all the alcohol speaking, but still. She had met far worse people than him, and she was even close friends with one of them. ''I don't.'', she said with confidence.

Well, at least he didn't have to worry about her taking advantage of his vulnerabilities. But she wasn't going to push the subject either. If he felt uncomfortable opening up, she wouldn't force him. It had to come naturally, otherwise it wouldn't have been real. But if he ever felt like sharing, she would gladly listen, whatever was on his mind.

She nodded slowly and followed his gaze upwards, once again taking a sip of the beer. As much as Lux wasn't a forest type of girl, she could gladly agree that it had its own kind of beauty to it. A sort of peace you couldn't find in a lot of places. The way it smelled and the way it felt, heck, even the sounds all built up into quite the cozy little bubble of beauty. ''Yeah.'', she said silently and closed her eyes, taking in the fresh air. ''I already told you that.'' She smiled. Silly. ''To get away from the drama.''

Jack supposed that some powers simply didn’t match up to the personalities of their owners, if that was the case then Jack would totally have the power to hypnotize any hot chick he wants, but then again thinking about it, then was like putting a hat on top of a another hat, if you get his meaning. That would just give him an even more unfair advantage over the competition.

At any rate Jack was glad that Lux did not press the matter any further, not just for his sake for his and hers as well. When it came to Jack’s emotional issues they were like the Ark of the Covenant, open the lid just a little and they will melt your face off. Jack didn’t want to burden Lux with his own shit and besides he was very uncomfortable discussing it with anyone. He gave Jack a quick nod of appreciation before looking back to the sky draining the beer, having seemingly closed the matter.

“Oh right.” Jack said when he pointed out he already asked the question. “Well, that’s what a few solid hours of non stop drinking will do to you I guess.” Suddenly Jack sat up bolt upright fueled with renewed energy.

“Actually, you want my advice? Jack slurred pointing a shaking forefinger at Lux. “You shouldn’t have to deal with bullshit, any one gives you drama is a piece of shit, and you don’t need to take it. Y-you wanna know what I think you should do? You should break into that drama’s house and poop in its bed. You need to let the bullshitters know exactly who their fucking with. You should totally call up any one whose giving you problems and let them know exactly how feel about them. You know why? Because you’re a god damn badass mountain lion and you’re not to be messed with!"

Jack punctuated this advice with quite a sizable burp as he rubbed his tired eyes and lied back down

“Of course, I’m just a drunk dude in the middle of the forest with a bag of porn and weed. So you might want to take anything I said with a pitch of salt”

Normally, Lux would have flinched at someone suddenly sitting up, or suddenly moving like that, but now? Nope. Her brain spent too long trying to process what was actually happening, and she just sat there, listening to him talk with a blank stare. And then she laughed. And laughed. And laughed. ''That's actually a really good idea....'' No, it wasn't. ''Not the bed part, but I should call!'' Not that she'd ever manage to actually be... Mad, but still. Calling. Yes. Good idea. (Not, at all.) ''And tell them exactly how I feel!'' That was never a good idea doing while one was drunk. She was going to end up regretting this for the rest of her life, but did she think about things like that? Oh, no.

She looked at him with a grin, which was followed by a giggle. ''You're silly.'' Well, she had to give him this, there wasn't a whole lot of people who managed to get her out of her bubble and do things like this, so there was always that. She took another sip of the beer. ''You're going to fall asleep, lazy~''

It was strange though, because Lux had never thought she'd actually enjoy doing things like this. That was one of the reasons she had strayed away from it all. But now? She was enjoying herself more than what she had in a long time, even if there was several ways to have fun without drinking, she understood why people did it.

“Of course it’s a good idea!” It wasn’t. “I could solve all the world’s problems if I…cared” Jack noted as he took another swig of his drink. Of course it goes without saying that this was terrible advice, and this was literally the worst thing Lux could do. But this was typical, as Jack was world renowned for giving the worst possible advice in any and all situations, but unfortunately Lux was blissfully unaware of this fact. But by that time tomorrow, she’ll know that fact all to well.

“…and handsome” Jack said weakly not even bothering to raise his instead pointing his forefinger numbly in the air. “Don’t forget handsome…and drunk…but mostly handsome…Handsome, drunk and silly.” Jack grinned slightly at Lux theory “No chance, in fact I’m pretty sure I’m operating on a higher state of consciousness, you’ll drop before I do. I’ll bet you 2 shillings on it, which is no more then a hey-penny”

Oh no, Jack was rambling now. Yeah, he was seriously out of it by this point. But he didn’t particularly care at this point, he was having too much of a surprisingly good time. In fact this the most fun Jack had since arriving in Hammel, which wasn’t really saying much in all honestly. Jack was impressed by the sudden transformation of Lux more then anything else. Seriously, where did this chick come from? What happened to the moody cow, knocking on his bedroom door complaining about loud music? They were like two completely different people. Personally Jack enjoyed hanging out with the former. You know, the fun Lux.

“So who are we calling?”

Well, even if Lux woke up aware of how much of a bad idea this had been, she couldn't really blame him for it. She was responsible for her own actions, and she could easily have said 'No', instead of agreeing with him. So no, he wouldn't have to worry about her blaming him for anything. It wasn't his fault, even if she was unaware of the consequences it would all end up having. ''Suuure you could.'', she said with a laugh.

With a roll of her eyes she shook her head and sighed. ''...and handsome.'', she repeated. As if his ego wasn't fed enough as it was. ''Oh yeah, I bet.'', she said sarcastically. She was wide awake, and yet, he was the one lying on the ground being half asleep. She could easily win that. ''Too easy.'', she said with a cocky smirk and folded her hands in her lap. ''Oh yes, you heard me. E-a-s-y.''

It wasn't as much as Lux not being fun while being sober. It was more her thinking less when she had alcohol in her system. Not always worrying about everything or trying to be the mature person her parents had raised her to be. She was responsible, and ok, maybe a little stuck-up at times, but she was still fun, right? Well, if people thought a blushing, clumsy and awkward little ball of fuss was funny anyways.

''Ooooh, let's start with my roomie! Because if we start with my friend Oriel... He'd find a way to end the fun, that sourpuss!'', she said with a grin and raised her thumb at Jack, before lifting up the vodka bottle.

It was fair to say that the good vibes Jack had been feeling up to this point had all but faded. The threat of a gruesome murder would usually do that…What set alarm bells ringing was the fact that Lux said there was nothing new here.

What the fuck did that mean?! Did he often threaten every person that talked to Lux with decapitation? Was there thousands of headless mutilated corpses resting at the bottom of the lake? There were some dark-tones here that Jack didn’t want to think about, what freaked him out more, was that the two were laughing about it like it was nothing?! What the Shit?! Jack nervously joined the laughter of the joke he didn’t hear.

“Ahahaahh, it’s funny because he wants to cave my head it with a machete…”

It was then Jack heard near-by footsteps coming closer and closer.

Shit.

“…So all that stuff about killing me…that was just for fun right?...Not that I’m afraid or anything, but I have this rare heart condition where if I’m punched in the face, it’s tactically considered murder…maybe you should like Ortiz know that before shit goes down.”

Oh, Jack was just overreacting. If he did what Oriel said, then he may actually get to leave with his head intact!

However, between the threat and Oriel's approach on the drinking site, Lux and he had had quite the pleasant conversation. Damn, why couldn't she be this cute when she was sober? It usually took Oriel acting like a complete goofball just to get her to relax and laugh as much as this. Which was yet another thing for Oriel to not like Jack for. He got to see Lux all drunk and cute before Oriel had the chance to. Not that he would have given it to her, or convinced her it was a good idea, but if she wanted, Oriel would (probably) have been Ok with it, so long as he was there to make sure she didn't overdo it. Maybe.

Of course, just to be even more of a dick, Oriel made sure his approach was loud and steady, his sneakers crunching the leaves and brush in cadence with his pace. The only thing which could have made it more perfect was if he really did have a machete and maybe a hockey mask to go with.

Hmmm….actually no. There were still more ways to have fun with this.

As soon as Oriel was close enough to hear their voices, he stopped. "Ok, I can see you. Be right there," he told Lux, before hanging up the phone and slipping it into his pocket. Then he climbed a tree. Trees were easy to climb, he'd been doing it since before he could walk, or so he'd like to believe. Silently, as silently as possible, keeping sure that he couldn't be seen, he clambered through the branches of the canopies, until he could see the two drunken children from the branch he was squatting upon.

"Hi," he said with a wickedly devilish grin. "I believe you have something that belongs to me." Then he jumped.

Lux wasn't really paying much attention to the phone anymore. She was too busy laughing at how Jack took the threat in such a serious matter. First of all, she doubted Oriel would ever go through with something like that. And the worst thing she could even imagine him doing was hitting someone, so Jack didn't really have much to worry about in her opinion. Second, there was no chance in hell Oriel would ever do something that gruesome in front of her. Besides, she bet his biggest priorities was to make sure she was safe, not to throw his anger on someone who was completely innocent. But it didn't change the fact that it was still hilarious. At least drunk Lux thought so. ''Oh, stop worrying.'', she said, waving her hand at him.

If Oriel had planted the idea in her head, she would probably more than willingly have agreed to drink with him instead, but this incident wasn't exactly planned. She wanted to go to the lake to be alone and get away from all the drama, and Jack had just happened to be at the right place at the right time. And really, she had had a wonderful time, even if that meant getting drunk and doing stupid things. Even she had to experience some firsts without worrying about what everyone else wanted her to do. It was a nice change.

''Okie!'', she said into the phone and hung up, letting her phone drop to the ground. She put her focus back onto the half empty vodka bottle and grinned at Jack. ''He's on his way.'' Well, which Jack already knew, but Lux didn't know that. She didn't hear the footsteps. She was far too busy drinking and having fun than to worry who and what might lurk around in the woods.

When Lux heard a familiar voice from above, she leaned her head back and smiled. ''Oooriel!'', she chirped and laughed. The fact that Oriel had threatened to kill her friend had completely vanished from her mind and she was focused on how fun it was that Oriel could join them drinking now and they could like... Go for a swim!

Lux got up on her feet as Oriel jumped down. Well, she tried to anyways. It looked more like a penguin wobbling around all the while flailing it's arms and holding a bottle of vodka.

It was all very well for Lux to tell Jack to stop worrying; she’s not the one that might be decapitated by her boyfriend/brother/cousin/friend or whatever. She didn’t hear what the dude had to Jack, the dude sounded mad, like psychotic, and let’s not ignore the fact that even though Jack may have over reacted, there still a chance he was about to get punched in the face, by her boyfriend/boy-Ok, seriously who the fuck was this guy?!

“Joy” Jack said bitterly as Lux telling him where “Ortiz” was…which instantly turned into fear as “Ortiz” called down from the trees like he was the fucking predator! Jesus, could this guy be anymore freaky?! Who was he? Batman?!

Jack scurried nervously to his feet and approached Oritz with a beer clutched in hand.

“Hey Ortiz! Nice for you to join us! You want a beer man? What’s a beer between friends…yup...good friends, that…that do friendly things with each other…like friends do. Right? Right?!”

It was painfully obvious that Jack was trying to suck up to “Ortiz” in a attempt to make sure he didn’t hit him…can you blame him?

A flurry of leaves danced about as Oriel landed hard upon the ground a few feet in front of the two other children, squatting down like a long practiced jumper and then slowly standing to his full height, his wide, twisted grin only getting broader as he brought a hand up to crink his neck and locked eyes with the one known as Jack.

Good. The guy looked scared. As he should be.

Damn, that was hilarious, and Oriel started a low, throaty cackle as he took a step forward to the the idiot offering him beer. "Sorry, Jack," he spat out the name like it was a curse and cocked his head to the side, "I don't drink."

Oriel turned his attentions to the stumbling little girl holding the vodka bottle like it was a slurpie. And of course, Oriel had to snort out a real laugh. "Oh, my god…" his smile obviously softened to one genuinely amused as he watched Lux stand up…or at least attempt to stand. Ignoring Jack, Oriel strolled over to the wobbly girl, chuckling the whole while and giving her a hand to help regain her balance. "Well, well, Princess. You're sure looking glamourous." Oriel gave Lux a good pan up and down, then looked at the half empty vodka bottle in her hand. "Did you drink that all by yourself?" he asked, pointing at the bottle. Wow, she sure had a lot, no wonder she was wasted. Good thing he found her, she never would have made it back to the dorms in this state, especially not if she decided to continue.

Her vacant, bubbly face was pretty adorable though. "Oh, just look at you," he said with an amused smile as he pinched her cheek, "getting all drunk in the middle of nowhere with some creepy stalker. My little girl's all growed up, ain't you?" Oriel released her cheek and brushed his fingers through her hair, combing it behind her ear. "You ready to go yet?"

Watching the two boys with a grin on her face, Lux was still trying to regain her balance, which was surprisingly harder than what it was normally. Sure, the alcohol had some blame in this, but she didn't think of that. Nope. But it was still nice seeing Oriel smile for a change, instead of yelling at her or telling her what to do. Oh, and threatening whoever came close to her. Which he had kind of done already, but still.

Her grin only widened as Oriel turned his attention to her. ''Hiiiii!'', she said cheerfully, still wobbling around like a drunk tiger on ice skates. She giggled as he tried helping her stand and leaned her weight against him. Muuuch better. ''Have you met Jack?'', she asked and looked at the other boy. Man, didn't he look like he was ready to shit his pants. Lux turned her attention to the bottle as Oriel spoke and cocked her head to the side. ''Uh... I don't know?'', she said, trying to remember. But she couldn't. Besides, who cared! She took another sip with a chuckle and grinned. ''Want some?'' And Oriel was probably right. She'd end up falling asleep in the woods and be eaten by a bear or something. Awesome.

When Oriel pinched her cheeks, she squeaked, almost shrilling. ''Uh-huh!'', she said with a muffled voice and tried focusing on his face. But it was all blurry and she couldn't stand still for long enough. But she still enjoyed being babied. It made her oh so happy. Weeeee. ''Can Jack come?'', she asked and lifted the bottle to her lips once again.

Jack almost feel his family jewels retract into his body as Oriel swooped down off the trees like some demonic vulture from the bowls of hell coming to feast upon his mortal soul….or just kick his ass. That too.

Jack almost jumped back a little as Oriel practically growled at him that he didn’t drink. Of course, usually Jack would snort of that fact and question to the testicular fortitude, not to mention sanity of anyone who doesn’t drink but as you can imagine, he didn’t feel quite up to it today.

“Ok, ok…that’s cool, that’s…that’s the sensible choice, really. Isn’t it? at the end of day? I mean if you can’t handle your shit, then it’s best if you don’t drink.”

Of course the awkwardness was only increased by Oriel’s oh-so touching reunion, can you say uncomfortable? Because Jack was pretty damn uncomfortable watching the scene, he could handle his drink, far better then a novice like Lux but he seriously felt like vomiting at the sight of the two, Lux may have enjoyed Oriel’s “Baby-talk” but Jack didn’t, ok true that she was drunk out of her mind but that was no reason to talk down to her, and be all condescending and shit, the guy was like a dog growling at Jack every-time he goes near her property, robbing him of the chance to…pitch her cheek and stroke her hair?

And he had the nerve to call Jack creepy.

“Don’t worry about me, I’m totally fine, in case anyone was interested.”

Jack eyes lit up in hope at Lux suggested, his drinking severely impaired his decision-making, so he saw no real reason why he couldn’t go back to him, he liked hanging around with Lux, she wasn’t like the usual girl Jack had the pleasure of meeting, she was different. She was…something, what exactly, jack didn’t know but he’ll work on that.

But of course, Jack didn’t even need to look at Oriel, to know he was telepathically communicated that he’ll rip out Jack’s tongue if he even thinks of going near her again.

“…Maybe that’s not the best idea Lux…I’m a busy man, people to see, things to do. Jack McCarthy man of action, you know what I mean?”
