The Start of Something....? (Erik)

“Ugh,” Kodi huffed, raking aside yet another small pile of leaves from the school’s garden towards a bigger pile that had been created over the past half-hour or so by him and a couple other students. This was his ‘detention’ this week – apparently the staff had realized putting him in a room to work on random shit was absolutely no incentive for him to stop getting into trouble, so they were trying something new.

Kodi didn’t like it, but it didn’t mean he was going to change his behavior.

And besides, it gave him a chance to check out that skinny white kid’s ass that he had seen a time or two in detention before. He made sure the boy noticed his staring, licking his tongue over his teeth once they made eye contact and smirking broadly at whatever his reaction was. He had no shame – they guy was pretty, and if he was in detention like this, well, Kodi had to assume he had the possibility of being his type.

Still, that didn’t mean he was going to show the guy any unearned respect. As they ended up raking close to each other at one point, Kodi purposefully scattered a small pile of leaves the guy had just made, his kohl-rimmed eyes glinting maliciously as he stood up and placed a hand on the top of his rake.

“Looks like ya missed a spot,” he drawled, motioning towards the ground. His accent wasn’t thick, but it was noticeable, if only because it was weird to see a Chinese guy with an obviously southern tone to his voice. “Better get on that. Put that skinny little arse t’work.”

Erik hadn’t exactly noticed Kodi leering at him before, but this time it was obvious. He stared back at him between rakes, his shoulders rolling under his taut, freckled skin, his black hair pulled up into a messy ponytail, and his once-meticulous nails chipping their color due to the work load. He narrowed his eyes; crimped his mouth. Whenever the other boy rolled his tongue over his teeth, he did nothing, just gave him a harder and angrier glare. What’d’you think you’re lookin’ at? his eyes said.

Once he was left alone with him – the teacher having gone to the school, maybe to take a piss or something – and the other students far afield, Erik just knew some shit was going to go down. He did his best to leave Kodi in a punishing silence. Erik swept up the leaves, head down, shoulders tight, only stopping once he heard the other boy start to talk.

For a second he threw him off. He had not been expecting a voice like that – a voice that, by all accounts, should have come from some rugged Southerner – fly right between the lips of, well, an Asian. Then he looked down at his pile.

Almost immediately, Erik lashed out with the butt end of his rake. He thrust it right underneath his ribs with enough force to leave a bruise. “What’s your fuckin’ problem, chink?” he spat. “You really wanna fuck with me, don’t you? I didn’t get here by leavin’ gum under a desk, asshole.”

No, he’d gotten here by threatening bodily harm on his trainer…and, by the way he was looking at Kodi, he was all set to do the same.

Ah, those glares sent tingles down Kodi’s toes, making his grin widen and boost his ego even more. With the teacher gone (what an idiot, who left people like those two boys by themselves?), there was absolutely no reason for him to curb his behavior at all, especially since the other kids seemed to be off doing their own thing.

He hadn’t expected the boy to lash out so quickly.

“Ah – hah!” he gasped, then let out a sharp bark of laughter as pain erupted from where Erik had hit him. “Feisty, are we?” His slanted gaze smoldered with interest. This guy was more volatile than he had thought. Which was very, very attractive to Kodi. Though, the accent had been unexpected, and Kodi had a faint curiosity of where the pasty boy was from.

“Ach, well, we’re in the same boat then, ponytail,” he smirked. He had lost track of what exactly he had done to get this detention – it was all the same, really. “What’d ya do, threaten someone with a rake?” He lifted his own tool and lashed out, hitting the end against the side of one of the boy’s shins. “I bet that white skin a’yours bruises awful nice.”

Erik might have been small and slight, but he’d a powerful voice when he needed it. It was starting to swell up from his chest.
“’Feisty’ ain’t th’ word for it,” he barked, teeth flashing. He started to rake the ground again, its spangles gouging at the earth, bringing not only leaves with it but dirt and grass and rock. The cords of muscle underneath his skin stretched and strained. His cheeks were livid.

Erik shot another glare over his freckled shoulder. “I ain’t lookin’ t’have a conversation with you, asshole,” he spat, still bent over his work. He’d always been quite transparent – though Erik hardly ever discussed what he felt, one could always see it on display. The obvious irritation with which he clawed at the earth was almost exaggerated.

Still, Kodi continued. When the rake nudged his shin, Erik side-stepped; his head reared up, ponytail flinging back, spine up straight.

“Th’ fuck you just say?” But he must have heard, because he went on. “It won’t bruise any better’n yours.”

Perhaps unstable was a better word? Whatever the case, it had Kodi lighting up with excitement. He was so aggravated, and Kodi hadn’t even done that much to him yet! “Nice teeth,” he grinned, showing his own. Most people wouldn’t have even been looking, but Kodi wasn’t most people. “Wouldn’t mind feelin’ ‘em, pretty boy.”

Had he just literally said ‘bite me’ and meant it? Maybe. Yes.

“Ouch!” he sighed, wiping his brow sadly. “And here I thought we could be great friends. Y’know, two boys meeting in detention, hittin’ it off… Y’ruined my dreams.” His brow rose as he grinned once more. He didn’t want to push the guy away completely, but… He wasn’t walking away yet, was he?

He tucked his rake against his armpit as the other boy reared up, blinking innocently. “Tch, I could make your white ass black and blue much faster than you could mine,” he retorted, reaching out an arm and giving the boy a firm whack on the rear as he walked behind Erik to another spread of leaves on the ground. “Try me.” Oh, he hoped the boy took his challenge.

His teeth were nice? That was a new one. He got a lot of comments about his ass and his face, whether they were genuine or mocking, but he’d never heard about his teeth. Erik just lifted his lips in a snarl and made long ‘tch’ sound, which came out like a sigh. He leaned over into his work again.

He raked angrily at the ground, Kodi’s words drowned out by the scrape against the earth and his own blood rushing in his ears. Erik didn’t want to start shit now. He’d gotten one hour of work detention from Batista, and another three from the presiding authority for cussing at him. He knew any more altercations would earn him a few more hours and, frankly, he was drowning in the stuff. It wasn’t that he had a lot of other stuff to do – he didn’t exactly have a bustling social life – but sitting on his ass was better than suffering forced physical labor.

“Fuck your shitty-ass dreams,” Erik muttered, almost to himself, as he stared at the rustling dead leaves.

But he stopped once Kodi went on. He gave him a disbelieving stare, his pink mouth slightly agape. “What – ”

He didn’t get to finish his sentence. Kodi’s hand slapped across his jean-covered ass. Erik’s whole body started; he whirled around to face him again, lashes rimming his wide open eyes.

He’d done it now.

Erik’s fists balled and he sent one crashing against the side of his face. He wasn’t very strong, but it’d sting, at least, and fling the other boy’s head to the side. Beyond them, their fellow prisoners were already watching, attracted by the loud crack.

Kodi’s schedule was pretty full with detentions and restrictions already, but he didn’t really care; sure, he was pretty much restricted to Hammel grounds most of the time, but there wasn’t a lot he wanted to do in town anyway. At least, that was what he told himself. He still managed to get what he wanted or needed with bribery… Usually of the carnal sort.



“Tskk,” he hummed, shaking his head but saying nothing else. He could play the silent game, too. For a little. Maybe. Still, the boy’s anger had stirred up that longing inside him, and he couldn’t help but wonder what Erik’s white hips grinding angrily against his own would feel like.



He stared at the leaves as he raked them while the boy reacted to what he had said and done, the corners of his mouth twitching as he prepared for what might come next.

Kodi’s head jerked to the side as Erik’s fist collided with his cheek, making him bite his lip and break against the skin, causing a small trickle of blood to appear. He hissed at the initial sting, then chuckled, dark and low. “Not bad,” he smirked, licking his lips. “You’re awfully skinny to try throwin’ punches, though, hick,” he drawled, tossing his rake against the ground.



Without another word, he swung forward at the boy, shoving him to the ground as he settled his hips heavily over Erik’s, feeling his teeth sharpen a bit in his mouth, unconsciously. “Whatcha gonna do now, twig?” he grinned maliciously, sliding his tongue over his slightly pointed chompers as he pinned Erik’s shoulders against the leaf-strewn ground. He didn’t know nor care what the onlookers might think.

Erik faced him, cheeks flush and lips parted, brows set, eyes bright; he was livid and glowing with anger, and he waited for Kodi’s retaliation, knowing without doubt there would be.

Erik took a few steps back, anticipating his approach, and put an arm up over his face to protect himself from a punch – but he hadn’t been expecting him to just throw himself over him. He landed heavily onto the dirt, dead leaves scattered underneath his hair. The impact rushed the air from his lungs.

“Get off me!” he grunted.

Kodi was heavier than he was, though; his weight effectively held him to the ground. His thighs thrashed around either side of Kodi’s waist; his arms pushed at his chest. He turned his head from side to side during his struggle, though his eyes caught on the shape of the other boy’s teeth. They were sharp now. Erik’s eyes widened briefly – then he clamped a hand right over the middle of Kodi’s face.

Erik pushed. “You’re – fuckin’ – insane,” he snarled.

Kodi grinned smugly down at his captive, enjoying watching him writhe under his weight. His white-blonde hair was mussed up around his face from the scuffle, but his lined eyes were bright with a crazed light. “Y’gotta fight if you want me t’get off,” he smirked. “How badly do y’want that?”

Though, he got control of himself a little, and managed to warp his teeth back to their normal dullness.

“I think you like it,” he continued, lifting a hand to caress the side of Erik’s neck. “You-“

He was interrupted by Erik’s hand shoving against the middle of his face, and his eyes widened briefly before settling into something closer to anger than smugness. “Mmf,” he growled underneath Erik’s hand, twisting his head so he could bite his teeth against the fleshy part of the boy’s palm.

Assuming Erik would retract his hand, he let out another guttural noise. “Damn right I am,” he replied, taking a handful of Erik’s ponytail in his hand and tugging slightly. In the process, he unknowingly shifted his weight to the side enough so that even Erik’s thin body could probably push him over and gain control. He had quickly switched to his temper, which made his thinking cloudy.

Erik didn’t make a sound when he bit his hand, but he did grit his teeth and retract it, folding his fingers over his palm as he stared up at him, eyes bright and burning. All that tugging at his hair did nothing to inspire submission in him: Erik was as contrary as a mule, always had been.

“Fuck you,” he snarled. “I’m fuckin’ tired a’yer shit!”

And he didn’t have a high threshold for it to begin with. He could sense the other inmates’ eyes on them. They were probably laughing at him; it made him think they were all in on it somehow, like this was a joke to them, watching him pinned down underneath another male

like that. Fury touched his veins. He didn’t respond to the rest of Kodiak’s teasing, just fought underneath him like a wildcat, trying like hell to make up for his lack of strength with pure determination. Finally, he found it; there was a shift of weight, just enough to tip the other boy on his side. Erik powered through it. He lifted his back up from the ground in a surge, clawing as he went, and managed to land another smack across Kodi’s cheek; this time it left a shallow scratch where his nails had caught. Erik scuttled up on his feet, kicking, like a bull that had just unsaddled its rider.

The teacher had returned from his break. Erik could see him running towards the scene, his coat-jacket flying out to the sides of his body, his straight corduroy pants flapping around his heels. This did nothing to stop him; in this state Erik was wildly dismissive of consequences. He jammed his foot right into Kodiak’s ribs.

“What’s the matter with you two?!”

Erik felt the teacher’s hand physically jerking him away from Kodiak’s prone body. He snarled, trying and failing to dislodge himself from his grip.

Kodi, too, could feel the eyes of the other students, some whooping, others silent, all urging on the scuffle between the two boys. But he was focused now on trying to keep Erik under control; the scrawny boy was putting on a pretty good fight, especially considering his size, and slipped like a snake out of Kodi's grasp. His breath came in wild pants as he fought to keep dominance, his nostrils flaring angrily as he writhed against Erik's flailing limbs.

But, shit-!

Kodi felt himself flipping over as Erik finally managed to unbalance him, and he hissed as he felt fingers and nails clawing at his face, slicing against his skin and presumably drawing blood. It made his heart race to get such a strong reaction out of the white boy; even if he was still pissed, he managed a wheezing laugh as Erik got to his feet. There was nothing like a good fight to get his blood boiling and interests aroused.

Yes, he was a sick fuck, and he knew it.

He was still on the ground laughing manically as the teacher sped over, and thus was unaware of his presence for a few moments after Erik was. He glanced up just in time to see Erik's foot come crashing towards him and land with a harsh thunk against his rib cage, knocking the wind of out him. Kodi gasped like a fish out of water, clutching at his ribs and still wheezing a pained laugh as he tried to catch his breath.

"Those'll... Be sore in the mornin'..." he cackled, painfully getting up on his knees and slowly rising to his feet. He stood with a slouch, one arm wrapped around his ribs as blood trickled from the scratch and where he had bitten his lip earlier. "I underestimated you, twiggy. I won't do that again." His eyes smoldered as he ignored the teacher and met Erik's gaze with his slightly smeared-kohl one. "I ain't finished with you."

The teacher had his hand wrapped tight around his bicep, and he wasn’t budging. Erik tugged at it a few more times, eyes bright and fierce, teeth grit; it was a good thing he couldn’t break free or else he surely would’ve layered more kicks upon the other boy’s ribs – maybe even in the mouth, the way he was running it.

“Th’ fuck you ain’t!” he snarled.

“Hey!” Their chaperone, an older man in his forties and a growing gut, yanked Erik back a few inches as if an effort to jolt him out of it. He repeated the phrase and moved in between them, blocking the boys’ eye contact, hand still around his arm and the other outstretched in front of Kodiak. “Hey, alright, that’s enough. You stay there,” he said to Erik, and then to Kodiak, “you, come on, get up…are you okay?”

It certainly seemed like Erik had done more damage to Kodi, after all; he might’ve left a bruise under his ribs, and his nail had scored a line of blood on his cheek. The teacher was obviously exasperated; he was used to the polite normalcy that made up the majority of the Hammel population, not the delinquents that were relegated to work detention. He’d only left them for ten minutes.

Once he’d surmised that Kodiak was fine, he went on. Two more hours of work detention to be completed later, he told them, and, of course, he was disappointed: “Now I don’t want any more trouble from you two. You’re part of a fine establishment. We hold you to a higher standard.” And so on and so forth; Erik still glared daggers at Kodiak from around the teacher’s gut.

He advised Kodi to see the school nurse, then dismissed them.

Erik went ahead of the other boy, shoulders tight, his silence pervasive and tangible. He didn’t look back, though Kodi would get the unspoken order that he was not to be spoken to, or touched, or in any way messed with.

Kodi didn't let his stare wander from Erik until the teacher coming between them forced him to, and even then he strained to look around him. "Fuckin' fantastic," he growled in response to the question, sliding his tongue over his lips. "You shoulda let him keep goin', poor thing obviously needs t'git his anger out on somethin'.

He shouldn't be talking - he had a lot of anger issues of his own. But he usually hid it with snarky words and smug grins.

Wiping at his cheek, he rolled his eyes as the older man continued. Yeah yeah, more detention, blah blah. Like it hadn't happened before. Kodi tuned him out as he caught Erik's glare, showing his teeth in a bloody grin. He was fine. He could deal with a little pain. But he wanted more from this kid.

Fuck the nurse! He didn't need that shit. The only thing that he wanted was more of this guy.

Once the teacher dismissed them, Kodi waited until they were around a corner before he pounced, stepping in front of the other boy and pinning him forcefully against the wall. "You've got me all hot an' bothered now, freckles," he drawled, leaning in close and giving him a fake pout. "How's about we finish... This... In my dorm?"

Erik could almost feel Kodiak’s eyes watching him depart. He supposed it was too much to ask that the other boy leave him alone, and, sure enough, he felt hands grab him and steer him quick against the wall. Kodiak would find that he wasn’t the least bit surprised. His back hit the red brick and he only stared, brows low over his eyes.

Erik craned his neck back when Kodiak leaned close, then turned his freckled cheek away when that didn’t deter him. His hands went up to grasp the taller boy’s shoulders, pushing them, keeping him from getting any closer. He’d been through aggressive come-ons before, but they were usually from drunken suitors, too tipsy to even stand up straight and walk at the same time; this was different. As far as he could tell, Kodiak was sober.

“Why don’t’chu go an’ fuck yourself?” he said. “Do us all a favor.”

The last time he’d been this close to Kodiak’s face he’d been in something of a struggle, but now he saw that the kid was pretty attractive. He watched drops of blood gather and rise in the scratch he’d given him. Erik watched him silently for a second, as though considering; their eyes met in what could only be a heated intimacy and a certain understanding. Erik wasn’t looking for sweet, either, and he had to be sure Kodiak wasn’t just blowing up a bunch of pretty smoke.

“Y’wouldn’t know what t’do with me even if you did get me,” he challenged.

Kodiak was a little surprised that Erik didn't offer any sort of struggle when he pounced him, but took it as a good sign - as much as he liked the scuffle, he was interested in something else now. He leaned in close enough to be able to count each pretty freckle on the boy's cheek, feeling his canines elongate unconsciously as he took in a deep, heavy breath of Erik's scent.

Mmm...

He rose a brow as Erik's hands rested against his shoulders, but didn't budge forward or back. His lips twitched as the boy spoke, showing just a hint of a sharp, white tooth. "Ain't no fun doin' it alone," he replied, brushing his thumb against Erik's long, pale neck. "Y'wouldn't turn a poor guy down, wouldja?"

There were a few beats of silence, where Kodi simply reveled in the feeling of Erik's hot breath against him, studying those clear blue eyes with his thickly lined ones. His grip loosened slightly, determined that Erik wouldn't walk away now that they had shared some sort of silent understanding. Yes, he had the southerner right where he wanted him!

"Hah!" he snorted, eyes rolling in amusement. "You have no idea what I'm capable of, freckles. I'd fuck ya so good you'd never want another partner again." His lips descended upon Erik's neck, mouthing against the pale flesh with just a hint of sharpness from his lengthened canines.
