Adaryn didn't take long, since she always knew where the gauze was in her bedroom. It was in her desk, third drawer down on the left side. She kept her medical supplies in there for easy accessibility. There was some Ibuprofen in her drawer for whenever she felt really poor. Her father had taken her, quite reluctantly, to the doctor on a Saturday morning and they prescribed it to her. The bruising on her ribs were going away, so she really didn't need them anymore. She didn't want to take the whole bottle in fear of being caught and accused of 'drug dealing', so she stuck a few in a little plastic bag, only actually intending to give him one. She grabbed a water bottle, stuffed the pill bag in her pocket, grabbed the gauze and went on her way.
The walk back to the room was quick, and she knocked on the door only because she wanted to let him know she was coming in. It was a habit, really. Her dad used to make her stand against the wall and stand on her tiptoes for five minutes every single time she didn't knock, so it definitely stuck.
"Well, don't you look like a ray of sunshine." Adaryn smiled lightly, but she didn't really know how he would react. She could see the annoyance and shame surrounding him, as if he didn't want her here, maybe? Addie bit her lip.
"I, uh, brought you some ibuprofen for your ankle and then the gauze. I had an ankle brace but, as you can see," She picked up her leg and pointed to her ankle, "It would be way too small for you."
She moved over to the side of his bed, pulling out the water bottle and a single pill. "Here, they are prescription a bit stronger than normal, like 400mg, so it should kill the pain quickly. I'll get to wrapping your ankle up." She handed him the pill and water and moved over to the lower half of his bed, pulled out the gauze, and started wrapping it gently.
