"You could, but it wouldn't work, just like it didn't the first time," AJ declared with a laugh. And then listened to him ramble off the lessons he'd learned. "Those are all still good lessons." Treat others how you wanted to be treated was non-specific, while the ones he listed were not. And then she nodded. "Yeah, people are shit." She shrugged her shoulders. But what could she do about it?

She crossed into his room, shaking her head at his way of letting her into his room. "Scared. Seems I've been taken prisoner by the Evil Overlord, but it's not my fault! He bribed me with cookies!" She turned to grin at him.

“Well, they always say, third time’s the charm.” Oriel grinned and joined her with a subdued laugh.

Oriel shrugged. “I thought so. But you’d be surprised how much of an ass I can be and still follow those rules,” he admitted with a sinister cackle. Actually, AJ probably wouldn’t be surprised, now that he thought about it, having been on the receiving end of some of that asshole-ry. He fell silent on that topic.

But…he was glad she was playing along with his Overlord bit. “You ain’t the first….and you ain’t the last,” he said with a slithery tongue. “it’s all part of my plan for world domination!” The "Overlord" threw his hand up like the madman he was, relishing in his acquired "power" and cackling all the while.
