Over the Limit [Kodi]

Gryphon really respected the fact that Kodi was letting himself do this. For him, for someone who seemed to put up so many walls and boundaries, to see him like this was definitely upsetting, but he couldn't help but be glad that Kodi opened up to him.

"Mmm." He hummed back, hugging the boy a little tighter. He didn't need to thank him, but he was worried by this point that something would cone out wrong, so he restricted his words. His shirt wasn't on his mind, though the moisture on it made it cling to Gryph's shoulder a little - it didn't matter.

"I believe you."

Gryph felt himself smile at those words, gently and warmly, "Good." He replied simply. If he wanted to help Kodi, he was gonna have to make sure the boy believed in him and in what he says. He didn't know of Kodi's situation, so he didn't know what to be looking out for, but whatever happened, he wasn't gonna give up.

Kodi's eyes seemed to glisten, as he spoke of his... confusion in relation to love. But he totally knew where he was coming from, thanks his own situation, which he wasn't going to waste his time thinking about. At least he was being honest about it, that was what mattered. He kissed the boy's temple, "I understand." He couldn't stop the droop his heart felt, but that was natural. He was a little sad about it, but Kodi deserved the time to think about it and know what he was saying before saying it.

Ehe, that tickled. He smirked a little, and waited as the question floated in the air and Kodi kissed his next. Once his... he still didn't know what to class Kodi as now, but by this point, something had definitely shifted. Once the blonde boy reached his mouth, he looked at him with gentle, tired, exhausted eyes, "Of course."

There was a wave of pain through his arm and his head still hurt, reminding him that he should've taken his meds by now, but they could wait. He'd be fine.

Kodi felt guilty about the fact he couldn't say anything in return to Gryph's generous confession. He closed his eyes as the boy kissed his temple, feeling a wave of exhaustion roll over him. Man, who knew emotions and crying could be so exhausting? "Thanks, Gryph..." he breathed again, still fidgeting with his shirt. He didn't know what else to say. He felt like he'd said too much already.

He didn't know what to label Gryphon as now, either. Kodi was definitely closer to Gryphon now than he had been to... Anyone, ever, but he still wasn't sure what that meant. All he knew was he wanted to keep going down this road and see where it led. "Okay," he said softly, meeting their lips together in a gentle, affectionate kiss.

Once done, he carefully pulled Gryphon down with him onto the bed, settling himself against Gryph's uninjured side and pulling the blanket up around them. On a spur of the moment, Kodi reached over and took hold of the boy's hurt arm carefully, bringing it in to press several kisses on the injured area. He didn't know why he did, he just... Felt like doing it. Once he released the hand, he nuzzled himself against Gryph's chest and let his eyes drift almost closed, tracing idle shapes against the broad plane of the boy's torso. ".... My full name's Kodiak," he mumbled out of the blue. "Just.... So you know." He hated it, but it felt like an unnecessary secret between them. Kodi wiped at his red eyes once more, feeling utterly overwhelmed, but somehow... Content.

Gryph had only had a pretty strong personal connection with one person, so although he hadn't never had it, it was only with family before - if Fi counted as family, that is.

Gryphon felt like this whole thing could've been avoided if he hadn't been drunk or just hadn't said those three words to Kodi. But in a way... he was glad it happened. Yes, it was emotionally straining and stressful and difficult, but now... things had changed, for the better. Gryph smiled at the kiss and reciprocated it, hoping that Kodi didn't feel like he had to do it, but did it because he wanted to. He kept it soft, as soft as he could, even gentler than the time in the library. Even then, there was some urgency but here, they had time.

Gryphon relaxed down onto the mattress - who knew something like this could take so much out of you? He couldn't help grinning and giggling when Kodi took up his painful arm and began pecking it. It was throbbing, but it wouldn't stop him from sleeping this time. Once he had let go of his arm, Gryph kissed his forehead, as a way of saying thank you. It didn't take away the pain, or anything, but... yeah.

He had his eyes closed now, humming softly and warmly at the movements of Kodi's finger on his chest. When the blonde boy spoke, even if it was quiet, his words were heard. So, his name was short for something! "Kodi's cool..." he spoke back, looking at him, "But Kodiak's amazing." He'd never heard it before. Kind of sounded like Kodak, the camera manufacturers (trust Gryph to know that). But he liked it. They were unique, together. He curled around a little, so his head was on top of Kodiak's, and he smiled. He was drifting fast - he couldn't help it, his body needed time to start functioning properly again. He kissed the top of Kodi's head, "G'night, Kodiak." He wasn't sure what the boy thought of his own name, but Gryph like it, so he was gonna use it. And then his mind began to wander away from reality and into something mystical.
