Oriel didn't know that Gryph had already seen some of the darker sides to Kodi. If he had known, combined with Gryph's promise, he would've felt a lot more at ease. But as it was he was working on blind faith with a person who had a history of running away when things got hot. And he'd be lying to say he wasn't nervous about it.
Especially after seeing Kodi like he was when Oriel stumbled on the two at the mall. Anybody watching their interaction there would have assumed they were a couple. It was a scene which was forever preserved in Oriel's phone, a little piece of something he still hadn't decided what to do with yet. Or if he would do anything at all.
After all, Oriel wasn't that evil….well, maybe he was, but he had his good points too, many of which he rarely went out of his way to show anybody he wasn't comfortable hanging off of like a koala. The mere fact that Oriel was able to give Dimples here a semi-friendly hug of "encouragement" meant he was warming up to the bird-boy, at least a little. Maybe.
We'll see, he thought as he continued with his demon smile, one that dropped to a mere sideways smirk at turkey-boy's dubious inquiry. "You'd be surprised to know, I ain't much a liar." Manipulator, yes. With-holder, yes. Liar, not too much. There were ways to twist words around so that it wasn't technically a lie and he knew(and used) them often enough. "'Sides, I got better things to do than trick you into failing at sex. Like Phoenix. I do do him often." He chuckled as he reminisced over those memories.
