Thunder Buddy! (Ray)

Ray’s smile widened as her eyes brightened, “Oh yay!” He exclaimed brightly, excited for her. He nodded, he could imaging, traveling with her parents and everything for so long it had to be hard to be away from them. “I’m excited to, ‘cause you’re awesome so therefore they must also be awesome.” He grinned, it would be nice to have family nearby. Not that his family was too far away, but it was a kind of trip that didn’t happen in one day, it was really a weekend affair. He looked at the pictures in wonder and he immediately wished that he knew her parents, it was also very clear to see where Maddie got her friendly nature from. “So adorable!” He teased and reached out and lightly pinched her cheek, “I especially like the hairstyle, why did you stop doing that?” He joked and poked her head and tried to imagine what his Pikachu dress friend would look like with her hair on top of her head.

“Are your parents meta humans?” He asked curiously and grinned at her. He was hopeful. “Maybe,” he agreed, “It sounds like it would be wicked awesome, I’d love to just go out anywhere. I mean, I’ve got wings, there’s literally nothing holding me back.” He laughed as he looked at his feet and the wings folded comfortably and peaking out of the legs of his sweatpants. “Do I want you to go with me?” Ray repeated the question as if perplexed then, “Absolutely! I wouldn’t go without you! I mean we’re still working on it, I need to ask my parents still.” And hopefully they would let him go, after all he hadn’t died in some freak accident yet, but they probably thought that he was courting death. “Alex is a skateboarder, too, we’re totally gonna find a big hill and race!” He hugged her. “I’m so excited! We have to go!”

Raylaigh laughed and made a face. “Hiking? You mean I have to walk?!” The flyer gave her look as though he were absolutely horrified by the idea. That did give him an idea though, he could go tree hopping. He hadn’t done that since he’d fallen out of tree and broken his arm a few years back but it was about damn time he did it again.

She laughed. "Hm I was thinking i'm a tad to old for it but maybe I should bring it back" she joked. She grabbed a piece of her hair and put it up like in the picture. "What do you think? Could be my signature hairstyle".

"Actually nobody as far as I know of in my family are metas. I guess i'm just special or their someone who secretly was or is a meta. My parent's think it's cool though and that it must mean I was meant to do something good with it. I'm not sure what illusion can do for the greater good though but if I figure it out I will use it for good". Besides the first time Madison has never used it to make someone imagine something bad ever again and she wasn't planning on it. She just had to find a good use for it. "You know to have to introduce me to Alex. Oh if were going to be racing you need to get some more practices in before we go if you want to beat me". She playfully flipped her hair. "I'm just saying". She hugged him back. "This will be so cool. We have to do it no doubt. What do we need in order to go besides your parents permission? I hope they say yes".

"Right you can fly. To quote Shakira 'walking gets to boring when you learn how to fly'" she said sightly singing.

Raylaigh looked at her critically and grinned, she looked silly but no more silly than she normally did. “Gurl, that is fab-u-lous!” He said inflecting his voice and doing his best ‘gay best friend’ impression. Not that that wasn’t true, but Ray didn’t have the stereotypical lisp, he actually didn’t know a lot of gay men that did and it always annoyed him when that was what came to people’s minds. He laughed, despite being silly, Ray had no doubt that Maddie could wear her hair like that and absolutely rock it. She was the kind of person that didn’t care what people thought about her and Raylaigh absolutely loved that about her.

“Oh good!” Ray grinned but secretly he was jealously. Everything had gone wrong when Kyle had first showed his meta ability and later when Ray did it only got worse. It was the reason he only saw his father a few times a year. He wished his father wasn’t so freaked out by meta humans, but he loved his father and he knew in his own way his father loved them too. Raylaigh nodded, “Absolutely, we need to go skateboarding together. And I do need a lot more practice,” Ray giggled, he hadn’t skateboarded in so long the last time he’d gone with Maddie he’d ended up on his rump more often than not and was seriously considering investing in some pads. He was also going to have to try to figure out if he could afford to buy a skateboard. Or at least convince his dad that he was not going to use the money he was asking for to buy said skateboard. “Yay!” Raylaigh exclaimed, in his mind this was already happening but her question had Ray giggling nervously. “Convince them that I’m not going to trip off of a cliff and die.” He joked, half way, his parents would probably first ask him where the closest hospital was before anything else.

Ray smiled and nodded. “You have a pretty voice, you should sing more often.” He complimented. “Oh I know, first things first we’re gonna enter you into a karaoke competition.” He said jokingly, he had no idea where he could go to enter her into a karaoke competition or why it was immediately relevant but why not, really. He nudged her and looked to the window, “The storm’s stopped.” He grinned at her, and her fears had gone as they spoke. “Hey, do you wanna watch a movie or something?” He had a ton of homework that he simply must avoid doing at the moment.

"You can have one of my boards if you want. Also some of my helmets and pads because you could use them. Then you could not only practices with me but go out whenever you need to. I have a lot anyway". She smiled. "Well your can fly so failing off cliff should not be a problem".

"Actually I can barely carry a tune. It's one of the few artistic things i'm actually bad at. I just know how to fake it and make it sound good. Though karaoke is a lot more fun when people can't sing". She smiled as she realize the storm was gone. "Ah I knew you could help me. That's why you were the first person i thought to text. Your a good thunder buddy and I love hanging with you. Your like officially my bestfriend now once again you have no choice in the matter". She give him yet another hug. "I think this is like the 5th hug i gave you sense you got here but oh well. Yeah let's watch a movie. Most are in the common room".

“Really?” Ray’s eyes widened and his brows shot toward his hairline, “I couldn’t…” He smiled and then nodded. “Actually, that would be wonderful, I’ll only keep it until I can get one of my own, but pads and helmet… yeah, that is a must.” He didn’t want to fall and have some freak accident where he broke himself into a million pieces. In fact if he was going to get his parents to let him go on this trip he was going to have to stay in one piece. No breaking thing from now until he asked his parents. Then he could definitely say he was being more careful. Raylaigh laughed as he realized the ridiculousness of it all. “Right! I forgot,” he fluttered is wings a bit as he laughed. That would actually be really fun. He’d have to figure out what to do with the board afterward but rolling down a hill and launching himself off of a cliff, that sounded like fun to Ray.

“True facts, we’d probably be a good pair to do so then,” he laughed, he had no vocal talents. “Yay!” Ray declared and hugged her back, “Best friend status, score!” He said jokingly and held her tightly. Well now it was agreed, they were besties. Raylaigh didn’t mind he loved hugs. He sat up and hopped off of her bed and gave her a grin. “I don’t think I’ve told you yet but I love your PJs.” He was going to have to get fashion advice from Maddie. “What kinda movie are you feeling?” He asked and did a little bit of a dance to the music in his head as he went to her door.

She shrugged. "You can give it back then or you can keep it forever. Doesn't matter to me". She had collected so many boards over the years she didn't use them all. She had no problem giving a few away.

"Oh we should totally do a karaoke night. Invite some of our friends to the dorm and just pig out of junk food and sing all night". She smiled at the thought of all her friends singing karaoke. A lot of them were artistic but she didn't think any of them could sing. She would really have to plan something like this so they could all meet to. They would love each other. "Thank you! I mean in the words of Pikachu Pika pika" she said in her best Pikachu impression. "I just love pokemon. I just wish they would stop changing the girls out". She got up and followed his lead dancing also. "Either romantic comedy or something supernatural. Anything fine really". She started doing the sprinkler. "So what are we dancing to"?

“Okay,” Raylaigh agreed, not really sure which one he was agreeing to. This was a gift of some sorts from Maddie and Ray may at some point come to cherish the board. He was so glad to have met Maddie, she was not only the coolest person ever but so sweet and Ray found her very easy to get along with. Maddie was just so lovable that Ray couldn’t help but love her.

“I like it,” Ray said with a nod, that sounded like so much fun and honestly she had him at junk food. “We could even make it a competition, like whose singing got the most complaints from the neighbors.” He cackled, more excited than one should be about pissing off the people that lived close by. “Or maybe when we go to the mountains where we don’t have to bother anyone,” he suggested with a shrug. Ray’s smile widened and he laughed wrapping his arms around his torso as if he were trying to hold his insides in for fear of laughing them out. He patted her head and tugged lightly at her Pikachu ears. “Well said, Maddie,” Ray said before nodding along. “Yeah, I really don’t understand why the main guy doesn’t grow up either. That would make it so much more interesting, or instead of the same guy, get a new person each time they go to a new region.”

“Ohh! I vote romantic comedy,” he said flapping his hands, okay so he had a weak spot for romantic comedies. He was definitely one of those guys that liked them and hell he’d been known to cry at a few ones that got sad. “Or we could do both. So, I have to tell you, I love Tim Burton, he is literally my hero.” He smiled shyly, so that was a little much but he’d seen the “Nightmare Before Christmas” when he was little and just fallen in love with it and everything that Tim Burton had created. Mostly the claymations. Ray grinned and grabbed her hand as she completed her sprinkler and lifted her hand to spin her. “The music in our own heads because everything else is boring,” he said, Raylaigh was on the dance team and he loved it, one always had music in their heads, why was dancing without music in public was usually viewed as crazy.
