While Nao's face of indifference was a blank as could be, Mathis' face was stuck on a permanent look of happiness. Even when he was calmly reading a book, or arguing with Demetrius, he'd be grinning from ear to ear. It was just the way the mimic was and couldn't say he too upset about his every emotion being displayed on his face. Granted it meant he couldn't lie to save his life, but even that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. So long as his life wasn't on the line and he had to tell a lie to save it. But really, when did things like that ever happen in real life?
He walked into the rather bland common room to the dorm, shuffling his feet some before he stepped much further. Reaching down slowly to remove his shoes from his feet Mathis stepped further into the room and grinned at Nao's question. "C'mon! I'll show you!" There was a brief pause before Mathis was crossing the room to go to one of the unlabeled doors. Mathis turned the handle to pop it open, not bothering to unlock it since he never kept it locked in the first place. He gave Nao a nod before walking inside of his equally bland room.
His bed was covered in deep blue covers (matching sheets) and had a lion sitting up by the pillows. Clothes were neatly thrown into a hamper in the corner and the only real clutter in his room was the piles of papers and books on his desk. The only things that screamed "Mathis" was the basketball uniform hanging on the back of the door and the five bulletin boards hanging on his walls. Each one was covered in awards, certificates, and pictures. Pictures to the point they'd be overlapping or hanging from the board on pieces of string. There were pictures of him and his brother, of him and Demetrius when they were younger, him and Antosha, him and a whole herd of animals, of his basketball team, of various sports events, dances, parties, of friends he's made since arriving at Hammel. There was only one picture not covered by others and it was one that was almost twelve years old. Back when he was barely a baby, right before Matthew had gotten kicked out and back when he still had a family. There were maybe two other pictures of his sister and parents past that and those were obviously ones taken without the subjects knowledge.
