So the little twerp was finally leaving, huh?  Good riddance... Kodi never liked Anthony anyway.

... Okay, that was a lie.  He never really had anything against the guy; in fact, if he swung the right way, Kodi totally would have jumped his ass at the first chance.  And there was that little factor that Anthony might have kinda saved his life sort of that one time.... But whatever, Kodi would have been fine!  Mehhhh....

He'd been annoyed at him recently, though.  That slutty Tak chick that Gryphon was going to be living with once he graduated had been coming over recently, and damn had they been making noise!  Kodi'd even watched the little ho saunter up to the guy's room in what seemed like some sort of sexy nightwear that had nearly made him gag... And afterwards, the noises that emitted from Anthony's room had nearly made him retreat to his own room to get away from the horror.

But for some reason, he'd stuck around and listened.  Maybe he'd be able to use it to his advantage somehow... Maybe.  Kodi wasn't above spreading or listening to gossip...  And, he remembered, wasn't Anthony supposed to have a girlfriend?

Whatever.  Kodi was currently in the common room, sulking over the fact that his own boyfriend was leaving him, too.  Anthony had gone off to do... Something-or-other, the dentokinetic hadn't really paid attention.  He had a chicken leg on a plate that he was quickly tearing through, his teeth sharp as needles as he ripped off each hunk of meat.  How was he supposed to entertain himself without the moron around?

How was she to let Anthony graduate and never see him at school again? Here senior year would be a lonely one without her best friend -recently dubbed boyfriend- around to entertain her and make her laugh at his very childish jokes. She wouldn't let it affect her though since he was much staying in Pilot Ridge to go to college, so she wouldn't have to miss him that much. Only during school.

With the fact that he was moving into a new apartment, she figured the boy would need some help packing, and she remembered distinctly that he was planning on this day to get the deed done. However, when she arrived to his dorm, she was shocked to see it completely closed. The girl knocked first, expecting the door to be unlocked at least -which it was- and entered the room carefully.

"Tony?" She called out, "Tony you here?" But instead, she was greeted by the sight of his very... frightening roommate.

"Hey..." Kailin started, "Have you seen Anthony?"

Huh, talk about coincidence...

Kodi had just torn off another piece of his food and was chewing when the door to the common room opened. He glanced back, expecting Anthony to have returned, but when he saw who it was, he scowled darkly. Gross... He hated having girls in this place, it was practically an unwelcome invasion of property, as far as he was concerned. He snorted and turned to ignore her, but apparently she wasn't going to have that.

"Huh?" he snarked, looking back again. "That little shithead? Yeah, he was here not too long ago, went off t'do somethin', dunno what or when he'll be back." He was about to leave it at that when he realized... ".... You're his girlfriend, ain't you?"

Oh... Ooooooh. An evil idea burrowed itself into Kodi's brain, and a smile began to tug at his lips. "How're things going with you two, then? You guys happy an' all in the relationship?" he asked with false cheerfulness.

To say that Kodi didn't frighten her a bit was a lie; he was just overly foul mouthed and always in what seemed like a piss poor mood in her company, so when he started to smile at her, the suspicions started rising in the pit of her stomach. And when he spoke, it began to get worse.

Why the hell did he want to know about her relationship and how it was going?

"Fine. We're happy as can be." Her eyes narrowed at him, and her tone lingered on the side of caution. What did he want with her and Anthony, and why was he so interested in her presence when just a moment ago he was scowling at her.

"Where is he?"

Kodi's cruel smile grew even wider as the girl spoke. He sat aside his plate and stood, stretching his arms above his head as he purposefully let the question hang in the air for a few moments.

Finally, he looked at her again, his face full of false sympathy and worry that wouldn't fool anyone.

"I don't suppose you'd appreciate hearing that Anthony might not be gettin' all he wants outta the relationship, mm?" he asked, tilting his head. "I mean, I know it ain't any of my business, but bein' his roommate an' all, I do see and.... Hear things." He tapped his ear knowingly.

"'Course, I could keep it t'myself if you ain't interested in hearin' 'bout the slut that's been visitin', but that's your call." Kodi shrugged and picked at one of his teeth, trying to hide his smirk as he waited for her reaction.

It went south very fast, and the immediate pain that she felt in her chest from his words were suffocating, but she had to believe that he wouldn't ever do anything like that to her... He was Anthony, her best friend for three years and boyfriend for four months... This guy just had a foul mouth and he wanted to make everyone around him miserable because he wasn't going to have Anthony to do it to...

"Anthony hasn't been with any slut," She almost choked on the word, but her eyes were narrowed, half because she didn't believe a lick of what he was saying, but also because she wanted to stop any tears from flowing. There was a lot going through her mind, but she was trying desperately to not let that immediately jealousy to bubble and show.

"Do you even know him? Where does lying get you?"

Kodi's lips twitched, but he managed to keep his 'empathetic' expression on his face as he saw the emotions cross over Kailin's face. Oh man, he should do this sort of stuff more often. It gave him a thrilling sense of power that he probably should have felt guilty about, but didn't.

"I beg t'differ," he replied with a sigh. "I know you know him better than I do, but, well... I live with him. And it's hard t'hide that sort of thing from your roommate." He looked the blonde up and down, as though measuring her. "And, well... To be honest, I can see why he'd want a sexy little bombshell on the side. Girl-next-door type just doesn't cut it for a lotta straight guys, y'know?"

He smirked as she challenged him. "Ahh... But I have proof." Kodi flipped out his phone and began panning through his photos, soon pulling up a slightly blurred but still readable image of what looked like a girl with long, dark hair straddling over Anthony's lap with barely anything on. "You should thank me, really," Kodi murmured, flipping through a couple more, similar photos, some a little clearer. "You'd never know you were datin' a cheater if I hadn't said anythin'."

He not only was saying Anthony was cheating on her, but also saying she wasn't good enough to keep his attention? What the hell was this guy's problem! By this time, she was trying not to yell at him, because it was obviously what he wanted.

Proof... he had proof?!

The anticipation as the asian went through his phone, her heart was pounding so loud, she felt he might be able to hear it, and her stomach churned with terror. No, he couldn't be being truthful. This guy couldn't be telling the truth... Anthony wouldn't --

But oh. He did.

There he sat, a barely clothed woman sitting on his lap... That could be... anything... That could be...

No. No he couldn't...

Kailin's hand went to cover her mouth the minute a choked sob escaped her throat and she backed up a single step. Her best friend... Her best friend did this to her. He cheated on her after saying he had liked her for the longest time. He cheated. He cheated.

Anthony had to step out of the room real quick for a simple break, just getting some sodas from the vending machines downstairs and maybe a few snacks too. He was planning on getting the rest of his packing done all at once today. He was a little behind because of some distractions he was exposed to earlier when he was trying to get it done, then there was that illness that had been going around school, so Anthony actually had a lot he still needed to get done.

Anthony was expecting Kailin to show and help at some point, hence why he decided to go get the refreshments that they’d eventually need. The two must’ve missed each other, with one of them going in the elevator and the other using the stairs, so Anthony was quite surprised and pleased to see that Kailin was already here when he returned.

And was, of course, talking to Kodi, his soon to be former roommate. Anthony had nothing against the guy, he was a little scary, but not nearly as bad as he pretended to be, at least that was his impression after he saw the dentokinetic sick that one time and then soon after he apparently got himself a boyfriend and more or less started mellowing out.

But he still didn’t want him talking to Kailin. Even if Anthony could handle the stuff that Kodi said, he would never want to expose Kailin to that kind of treatment. So upon entering the room, Anthony spoke up, ignorant as to what was going on, but noticing that Kailin had a very shocked expression on her face. “Kodi…you better not be harassing my girlfriend,” he warned.

Kodi finally let the grin spread across his face, a cruel, wicked smile that held nothing but amusement for the girl's heartbreak. She sobbed, and he put his phone away, knowing the damage was done. "Ah, don't sweat it, blondie," he humphed. "You'll find some other guy with lower standards or somethin'. It ain't the end of the world. He's movin' out anyway, you won't have t'think about him any more."

Speak of the devil...

Kodi's toothy grin turned to Anthony as he came in and spoke. His teeth were sharp like a shark's. "What? Noo, I would never do that," he cooed, daring to reach out and pet the girl's head. "Just givin' your sweetie here a few words of advice. It ain't my fault how she decides t'respond."

With a wink, Kodi snagged his plate and meandered to his room, deeming his work done. He couldn't wait to hear the explosion that was hopefully coming.

Kailin stood stiff in her spot, jaw tensing and her eyes burning from the tears that were threatening to fall. She couldn't even open her mouth, nor did she want to, because his words -both of their words- hurt more than she could have even imagined. This worse was than anything she had experienced, with a hand digging into her chest and twisting her heart and stomach simultaneously.

But then the white haired Asian left, and it was just them, Him and Kailin, together. What did she say to him? 'I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you, you selfish son of a bitch?' Kailin didn't curse often, and she most definitely didn't like to taint her words with such foul words when she was very much capable of using other words that would suffice... but this... this was different, and she didn't care.

"What the fuck, Anthony?!" Kailin turned to him with reddened eyes, voice raising as she continued with the occasional muffled sob. "Was I really not pretty or good enough for you to be with?"

Huh…there was something up with the way that Kodi feigned innocence that should have raised some red flags in Anthony, especially when combined with the distressed look that Kailin had on her face but…Anthony was being oblivious. Maybe he did notice and was just choosing to ignore it, thinking that it couldn’t be that bad? That maybe she was just over-reacting to a lie that Kodi had clearly told her. Because the dentokinetic was obviously messing with her about something.

Anthony rolled his eyes as Kodi left and turned back to his girlfriend to comfort her, for whatever it was that Kodi had told her.

“Kales, honey, what’d he sa—“ he started, but that was when Kailin exploded at him with something that didn’t make a lot of sense. “What? Wait? Where is this—“ Kodi. “What did he tell you?” he asked urgently. “Whatever it was, it isn’t true!” Great job, Anthony, lying. Even though he didn’t know for certain that what she was talking about was that specifically.

Kailin wanted to believe him, but the look of sudden panic on his face seemed to tell her otherwise. If it weren't true, he wouldn't be acting so defensive about this situation; but he was, and in her mind, she knew it was because there was truth to what she was shown. There had to be, and it killed her.

"He at least had the decency to tell me how I wasn't good enough for you," Kailin couldn't look at him. This wasn't just betrayal from a boyfriend, because if it were, it'd probably wouldn't have hurt so badly. Now, that isn't to say it wouldn't hurt, but this was the guy she had laughed with and cried with, the guy who knew all her insecurities and fears, and he seemed to take everything and shove her out the window. He knew how much she hated secrets, how much she hated lies; he knew how jealous she really was, despite the fact that she didn't want to believe it... and he just didn't care. He really didn't care.

"That picture seemed pretty real, Anthony." She tried to distance herself by using his real name and not the nickname she always addressed him by; but she didn't know if it was working. "With you so graciously fondling a half-naked girl on your lap."

She wanted him to prove to her that the photo wasn't real, and that this Asian kid just photoshopped it, but Kales was smart enough to know that he probably wouldn't be able to.

Deny everything! Deny everything because if Kodi just said something then he could very well be lying about whatever it was he said, right? Really, Kailin was more than enough for him! He’d been waiting and building up the courage just to ask her out for three years, how could she think that she wasn’t good enough for him!? How could she think that Anthony thought she wasn’t good enough for him!? Because that obviously didn’t make sense, and was exactly what he’d been thinking when Tak…

Wait, picture? There was a picture??

But the door was locked! Wasn’t it? Well, there was a brief few minutes before where it wasn’t…..

Either way, Anthony’s face paled completely as he realized that she had found out about that (gee THANKS Kodi!!) through a picture…which he couldn’t deny the existence of…and….

“It’s…It’s not what you think, Kailin! I promise, you’re more than enough for me! You’re just…just misunderstanding the situation!” Yeah! That’s it Anthony! It’s just a misunderstanding! “She..Tak..That girl just showed up out of nowhere! I thought she was you at first! I was sick! She was..was trying to force me into bed before I collapsed!” Which all of it was (basically) the truth, but didn’t make him sound that much better. "It's not that big a deal!" Anthony tried to manage a smile, which only came out lopsided.

"Oh, because I look like a slut in skimpy clothing?" Normally, Kailin would never say such things about anybody, but in the heat of her anger, she was beginning to say things she regretted. "Or maybe that's the problem? I don't look like that, or dress like that, so you're obviously going to go for someone like that."

Never would she think she would have to dress like that in order to keep a boyfriend, and never would she think she would have to dress like that to keep Anthony. "And what do you mean, it isn't what it looks like?" She was fuming, she was ready to cry, she was ready to just break down. And while she wanted to cry in his shoulder, she realized he was the reason why she felt in such a way.

"It looks like a girl is straddling you, wearing clothes that can't even be considered an appropriate bathing suit, and you want to tell me it's not a big deal?! Then what is it?!"
