Since taking over their father's company, Dominique had performed remarkable strides to turn the company in a new direction. For years he had been stressing the importance of new artists. Meta artists. People who found the means to use their skills to the best of their advantage. Who could produce beautiful art with or without abilities. The board of director's hadn't been sold until they saw a glimpse of the group Dominique had put together.
And with another Chevalier on board, how could they say no? More than half the company shares were in the board room in the hands of two identical men.
Opening night had been perfect. And the closing of the exhibit had been more so. It wasn't just about the money. It was about the press. The accomplishment. The status. Carter Chevalier truly felt alive enough to say he wanted to celebrate with these people.
With a strict amount of tension, Carter pulled at the sleeves underneath his suit jacket. Now was hardly the time to get caught up in his significant other, but given the success of Dominique's new project, he could hardly contain himself the moment they'd reached their hotel room. So he pulled at the sleeves, looping the buttons through. As his hands made their way to the buttons on his shirt, he whirled around on a step.
"Where did you throw my jacket?" Carter asked, glancing back to the woman he could now readily call his significant other. His partner. She must have been excited too; it wasn't just his artwork that'd been in the showing. "I need it for dinner, mon amour."
