“Well sometimes you’ve got to balance friendliness with sexiness, Ms. Parish.” Matt said while giving her another playful smile. “You maaay need to work a little on the friendliness. I was right though. Y’are cute. An’ the boots make you look better than any glass slippers might.” He turned around and made his way back to his bike, grabbing the tool bag off of the back of his bike before heading towards it. He scanned over the body of the vehicle and took a deep breath. He could feel it. Like he was looking at a pouting kid with a sad face in a hospital. He could feel that it was...sick.
Matt opened the car door and leaned in some, laughing when he knocked his head against the roof. “Man you’re shorter than you look! Or y’need to back your seat back some…” He unlocked the hood before slipping out. Most mechanics would’ve started the car. Well, tried. He knew this and he would’ve done it if it wasn’t for… his sight. He’d know what was wrong with the car before he even heard it’s symptoms if he could look at the guts.
When he reached the front of the car and popped the hood his eyes quickly dropped to the engine. His body froze. His mind raced. His face went blank. He could see it all, see every element. He could see how the wind and rain had damaged some of it. Hardly at all to an untrained eye, but something to him. He could see the fraying of the wires, even as they were sealed in and not visible to normal people. It all just...made sense.
He reached down to grab a few tools and a rag, setting them on the engine in key spots before his hand dug deep inside of the vehicle’s heart. He ripped open one of the connections from the battery into deeper inside of the engine and began to re-wrap the copper inside of it before continuing further down into the engine...fixing things that Ms. Parish wouldn’t know were wrong for a few more months.
