“… You’re a weirdo…” Phoenix mumbled weakly, but his chest thrummed happily all the same hearing such cheesy, lovey things from his fiancé. He knew it was true, and he knew that he felt the same right back at Oriel. “… It’ll always be me…” he added, equally quiet. He finally slipped his arms around Oriel’s waist, holding him close, content to just lay there forever like that.
He did have pretty good mush powers. It worked on other people too, but it seemed to be most effective on Oriel. As long as Phoenix didn’t abuse his power… Nyehehe…
Phen nodded as Oriel caught onto the meaning of the term, but then he started owning it, and the older boy stared at him incredulously. “Oh… Oh, n-no…” he started giggling at Oriel’s antics. “S-stop!” His giggles grew louder the longer the boy went on, until he was nearly crying from mirth while Oriel started kissing him again. “I’m n-not dreamy,” he wheezed, having trouble catching his breath. “I don’t even have… Heh… Chocolate abs…” And likely never would.
What Oriel was saying about his father, however, made Phen’s mood quickly drop. “N-no, he’s not gonna… He’ll be fine…!” he protested, glancing at the door. Suddenly, though, he was worried about Derek’s drinking. “… You don’t really think that, do you…?” Phoenix knew Oriel and his dad didn’t really care for each other (hah, that was putting it lightly), but surely they felt some sort of obligation to each other just because of Phoenix, right? Right?
He grunted a little as Oriel laid over him, peeking up at the younger boy through his thick bangs. “Yeah, but… He doesn’t have t’let me live here, he just does ‘cause he’s… Nice…” Phoenix was an adult, technically he should be living on his own by now, or at least back in Hammel’s dorms until he was done there this year. “And I don’t wanna make me staying here more miserable for him…” It wasn’t like Derek came home with his… Girlfriend or whatever. Hell, Phoenix didn’t even know if he had one. He was completely ignorant of the man’s playboy ways. He rolled slightly and tucked himself against his fiancé, considering the question. “…. Left the laptop out on the couch…” he mumbled, which was as plain an answer as any. He kissed Oriel’s scruffy jaw, and nuzzled his cheek against it. “Do whatever you want, Squish. You know I’ll like anything you do.” Phoenix smiled faintly at the younger boy, forgetting about his dad for the moment.
